If there is one thing that bugged me in BF2142 it is how the support class was useless.
In BC2, changing the MGs to the medic was a two thumps up deicion for me as you finally saw all classes used quite equallly. Assault had the rockets and better assault rifles, medic had being a medic.
Now every time I use the MG I feel useless compared to an AR.

The ammo box isn't that important to a team, especially if people are running the ammo spec. But ammo kits are really great in chokepoints maps, where you need all the grenades and rockets you can spam
In general, engineer is probably the most usefull class. They're the only class that's a threat to vehicles besides supports with C4, and they're also the class to upkeep the vehicles

I have to say, up until now I have not had a positive experience with ammo resupplies. It seems like every time I need one, there are no ammo drops anywhere near me, and the closest Support is too busy shooting/running/whatever to stop and drop any. I usually have to find a dead Support's kit and drop some for myself.
Despite this, I do like how they returned to the 2142 class model. Combining Assault with Medic makes sense, and the Support class arguably needs the ammo drops the most (since they're going to be throwing the most bullets).

plus having the noob-tube-class also wielding the ammo box was not a good plan. it's pretty fine as it is now. MG's are pretty powerfull when set up on chokepoints, ammo is needed regularely (at least i run out many times each life usually, but then again, i do a lot of guess-shooting).
but yes, somehow 90% of all support players are braindamaged retards that do not comprehend what i could possibly want when i'm jumping up and down in front of them yelling "ammo, ammo, ammo!"

I feel the same way about the assaults that don't ever drop the band aid box, or they never use the defib paddles. I make it a habit of dropping an ammo box on my teammates when i spawn, or when i move around and someone is shooting, i drop another box. That is more infuriating than a piss poor tank driver.

i found that assaults sometimes revive or heal, if there is nothing else to do arround. ammo i don't even get if i shoot the damn tossers in the face while screaming for it repeadedly ingame. yes, i've definitely had more success with health / revives than with ammo. not great, but better.

Most Assault players have unlocked the tube by now, so odds are half the Assaults you see don't even have medkits. *coughwolfcough* And you can bet your britches that if the mortar shared the slot with ammo boxes, no Supports would have boxes either. I guess the same thing goes for Engis and repair tools, but there are certain maps where it doesn't make sense to have the tool, so that's another story. Anyways, Medics and LMGs was a terrible idea, as was Assaults with ammo and tubes. The purpose of classes is not to be all powerful and self-reliant. Now the Support can't hold down chokes alone without some healing, and the Assault can't tube everything in sight endlessly. They're now natural best buddies, instead of lone wolves.

shuddup, i only took tube that one time to unlock the other ammo types for it, and only because there was the other guy who had healthpacks in our squad
