Every time I play COD and get angry (takes about 5 minutes), I come back to Battlefield, and can play for hours on end without getting mad. Not trying to turn this into a COD-vs-BF thing, but one of the games is just much more relaxing and enjoyable to me. My only problem is that all of my friends prefer to play whatever game is newest, so in this case COD. I have nobody to play with on Battlefield, which is the most teamwork-oriented game ever And no randoms on XBox use headsets (or they are all in party chats), which makes making new friends near impossible.

i feel so guilty when there's 3 of us in a party and the 4th guy in the squad has his little mic icon buzzing away

Parties can be so good, but the price is that it really ruined playing with randoms
You should invite the guy to your party, maybe you'll find a pretty decent guy

I've been itching to start playing some BF3 (360) again and thinking about picking up the BF3 Premium package considering it received a price drop. I haven't played since just after the 3rd Multiplayer Update came out, which I think was around June-July 2012, and now I'm noticing that there was a 4th Multiplier Update that came out back in September 2012, yet I never even fully figured out how best to setup my classes and adapt to the changes in the 3rd Update. So, I'm just wondering what kind of changes to expect and perhaps some direction in best preparing some of my classes, such as ideal weapon attachments and all. Any direct feedback would be much appreciated.

So, I'm just wondering what kind of changes to expect and perhaps some direction in best preparing some of my classes, such as ideal weapon attachments and all. Any direct feedback would be much appreciated. I don't recall how far back the attachment changes go, but I'll just recap. This is all from a PC perspective, so your mileage may vary. Foregrip: Now adds ADS spread. No longer a no-brainer attachment. Best suited towards primarily close range weapons, or in conjunction with a spread reducing attachment. Bipod: Slightly buffed, but not that it matters. It was always effective, just annoying without a dedicated button (which it has now, for PC at least). You could call it the new no-brainer attachment, since even if you never deploy it, it has no penalty. Heavy Barrel: Large buff, and is now the god attachment. Reduces ADS spread by a decent amount, and still provides a small bonus when used with the foregrip. It also increases the damage dropoff range, which at certain ranges increases your damage. The only penalties are slightly higher vertical recoil (meaningless on PC, but it might be another story on console), and slightly less hipfire accuracy. There's a lot of love/hate for this in its current state, since it lets you use longer bursts or even full-auto at ranges you normally shouldn't. It also greatly improves moving ADS spread, so if you're a more mobile player, it's your best friend. Bonus points for countering suppression. Easily the most potent attachment in the game. Silencer: Small reduction in ADS spread and vertical recoil, lower damage dropoff ranges, lower bullet velocity (travel time and drop), no minimap when firing. A pretty good attachment, but it has a large hipfire penalty. That added to the overall lower damage you'll be dealing, and it's best suited towards flanking. Regardless, don't expect true stealth, as 3D spotting exists. Flash Suppressor: Lowers vertical recoil (more than silencer), slightly less hipfire accuracy (the lowest penalty of all the barrel attachments). Very vanilla, but overall a good choice for any weapon; provided you aren't going hbar or silencer. Laser + Flashlight: Nothing to say. I believe the laser received a small buff and the flashlight a small nerf, but their usage is the same. In general, the main recommendation is hbar for Carbines (aside from ACW-R and SCAR-H). They lose the most damage at range, and combined with the hbar, they essentially turn into ARs at the most common engagement ranges. LMGs have bad spread, and considering their intended role, you should always go bipod. Foregrip hurts more than it helps; unless you're using the L86, since it gets a vertical recoil reduction as well (use with hbar obviously). Same applies to semi-auto sniper rifles, with the exception being the SKS for its exclusive hbar. ARs can honestly do whatever you want, since their base ADS spread is so good. PDWs are a mixed bag. The VAL is a solid choice as a pseudo-AR, while the rest are generally hipfire machines. The last piece of advice I can give it to not get too engrossed in what weapon is "best." Yes, there are weapons that are technically superior in some ways, but overall the balance is good (thanks to DICE and their lazy damage system). If you want more detailed info on the weapons visit symthic. I definitely recommend the weapon comparison feature if you're really interested in looking at different setups. symthic.com/?s=bf3
