Did you find out? I'm too busy farming for a decent Pimpernel and it took me a while before knowing one to do it, ffs.

Most of the solos I've seen are just salvador classes with like top notch equipment.
I've gotten 2/4 dragons with a fast cooldown axton class since the dragons almost exclusively go after the turrets while they're deployed. From there it's just constant bee + sandhawk

Let me guess, Salvador with DPUH and Magic Missile grenade mod? And Norfleets? He's an idiot-proof character to use. Just avoid his Brawn tree. It's not like using Maya or Zero.
If you are using Axton and you use the Gunpowder tree for some reason the it may be worth looking into Torgue weapons as it receives the grenade buffs to their weapons I think.

I ignore axton's gunpowder skill tree. It's only good for non-action skill playthroughs

Longbow Turret, Battlefront and Impact are good choices in that skill tree but you'd have to be level 72 to use it with Double Up and Gemini, which is what I do.

Longbow, Nuke, Double Turret is hilarious btw...
but the best way to use axton is to just use the run glitch and double slag turrets. Axton just gets out dpsed by the mechromancer.

Add a Nukem rocket launcher to that. Used a low level one from a friend and it's a laugh to use - mushroom clouds galore. Never really got to use Gaige much. Farming Torgue tokens using the Bandit splat guns is fun as we'll obviously I go to normal for that. I think Zero has the potential to get the highest dps in the game but that's on his Bloodshed tree, which I don't use.

In hindsight I may have disliked this Axton/UVHM because I went for a heavy Gunner build.
Gunner class mod Favoritism towards Bandit weaponry and anything with a giant magazine
Guerilla: Ready, Willing, Able, Scorched Earth (16) Gunpowder: Impact, Overload, Metal Storm, Steady, Duty Calls(3/5) (24) Survival: Healthy (5)
In this build it's all about getting as much CR ammo as humanly possible wherever possible and blassting that off when things get serious. In hindsight I might have ****ed up. But hey, Gunner the best Soldier mod in BL1 so it must also be the best in BL2. Hurdy hurr hurr.

Oh yes, never go beyond 3 for Metal Storm on consoles.

I think highest dps would be high anarchy stacked mech. Coupled with blood soaked shield you can pretty much keep running & gunning

Must try that some time. It was fun to practically one hit kill the BNK-3R with Zero using the B0re skill.

I've got all level 72 Norfleets. Not sure if they're as great as people make out though or may be I could do with trying to get ones that have a fire rate of 1.2 because mine are 0.8 usually I think. Topneaas are pretty good to use though. Vladof and Maliwan do appear to be the most fun weaponry to use for me.
Vladof - Shredifier, White Death, Topneea, Fire Bee, Sham, Blaster, Lead Storm, Storm Front Maliwan - Norfleet, Plasma Casters, Florentine, Magic Missile, Transfusion grenades
I noticed there's always a weapon that a company does not manufacture though. Imagine if Jakobs made a rocket launcher? I assume it would be a cannon or a very powerful crossbow. At least a crossbow would fit a Jakobs build on Zero more though.

Here's all my predictions:
Hyperion AR: Something like a CSGO silenced M4. Small magazine, full auto, highly accurate. Hyperion Launcher: High velocity launcher
Vladof SMG: Essentially the Ppsh Vladof Shotgun: Small magazine high RoF shotgun with subpar accuracy. Essentially a Hyperion shotgun with awful range and a faster RoF.
Bandit Sniper Rifle: I'm guessing those 25-round Vladof sniper rifles were originally supposed to be manufactured by Bandit.
Dahl Shotgun: Basically the M1216 Dahl Launcher: High DPS, but chews through ammo because it usually fires in bursts of 3-5
Maliwan CR: This has never been tried before. I guess it would be a machine gun with a very low PROC value, like S&S did with its machine guns. Maliwan Shotgun: Stat-wise it would bear a lot of semblance to Tediore shotguns, but as a Maliwan weapon.
Jakobs SMG: I- a semi-auto SMG? I don't know about that. Jakobs Launcher: Definitely the cannon. Some Jakobs CRs already do this. They have high DPS, but only do damage after bouncing off a surface; which kind of sucks.
Tediore AR: I'm not sure how t make this weapon unique. Maybe making these rifles into a semi-auto hipfire-monster M14 laser sight could help. Tediore Sniper: It'll probably act like a CS:GO Scout with low damage values across the board in exchange for something like reduced idle sway.
Torgue SMG: For an SMG it's going to fire very slowly like every other Torgue weapon compared to other companies because it essentially deals double damage on a direct impact. Because Torgue uses its low bullet velocity to counter it's close-mid range potency SMGs can easily become potent by sheer virtue of high DPS in CQC at next to no setback. Torgue Sniper: Essentially the BL1 Cobra. It'll probably be more forgiving of body shots because of its explosive damage (and maybe lower bullet velocity as well).

I think it could be a bit different:
Maliwan shotguns would have terrible spread but high pellet count engulfing an area with its element.
Jakobs smg would have the highest max rpm and lowest recoil, but also lowest damage.
Torgue smgs would be high rof low spread high recoil
Dahl shotguns would be the bee's knees.

Would Dahl shotguns still burst fire?

Why not? Every Dahl weapon fires in bursts; the spread might bloom too fast during each burst and make them near useless until you're toe-to-toe with an NPC but they'll certainly be fun to use. Maybe that'll only be an issue on lower-tier Dahl shotguns. That, or they'll end up like the BL1 Butcher. High damage per burst, high fire rate during each burst, low pellet count, chews through ammo, frequent reloads between trigger pulls. It would have made shotguns a lot less lackluster in BL2.
Lower explosive damage (50 - 80%) could work on weighing out the pros and cons of a Torgue SMG.
Since Jakobs deals with increased critical hit damage, high per-shot damage, and semi-auto weapons it really has no business with spray-and-pray full-auto weapons like SMGs. I mentioned before that a lever action rifle that uses SMG ammo would be pretty likely. It could suck up multiple SMG rounds every trigger pull for a decent mid-range head popper that an Assassin could make use of. That could work... maybe.
Beyond having elemental damage there's really nothing out there that would be needed to separate Maliwan weaponry from other weapons stat-wise. Maliwan shotguns can have any set of stats and work just fine.

Yeah that's why I tried getting into BL1 because I heard the shotguns were better than in BL2. So all I do is use the Bandit splat guns on TVHM when farming Torgue tokens. Shotguns and sniper rifles are overall a bit meh in BL2.

I actually liked the BL2 sniper rifles; they were pin-point accurate, often had scopes that were aesthetically nice to look at, and had next to no spread. I often refrain from using snipers in BL2 because enemies dodged dived ducked dipped and dodged everywhere before you can land a headshot in many cases. The full-auto Vladof ones either had a tiny magazine or chewed through ammo to the point where you were running with an empty weapon most of the time. A lot of my characters focused on CRs and Pistols because of the SMGs' awful DPS. In BL1 it was commonplace to find an SMG that naturally fired over 10.0 Rounds Per Second. The BL1 wiki claims that some SMGs can fire up to 18.0 RPS naturally, but personally I've never seen anything over 16.8.

Droogs are the best non-legendary sniper rifles in BL2. I think my highest capacity sniper rifle has 33 rounds. Then there is the Lyuda and that outperforms the Skullmasher.

The skullmasher is glorious in BL1 and 2. I heard the Pitchfork has decent DPS, and the devs were probably high when they made the Executioner.

Skullmasher is good but I'm not sure I'd call it glorious, but that is probably more of an issue with enemy health being disproportionately high in UVHM more than anything . I have two Skullmashers at level 72 - one with the Klook prefix and one with the Skookum prefix. It's fun to use though. But then if the Cobra didn't suck that would be awesome.

Bitch criticals, florentine against shield, sandhawk + bee, baby maker reloads, point black bone shredder, actualizer. I mean the only standout I can think of is DPUH which relies on range and butcher which actually doesn't have any downsides.

I once rolled with a white-rarity Tediore SMG level 60 heavy gunner Soldier that spat out 110 rounds per reload and ~1080 RPM before Metal Storm kicked in. It was like being the Terminator for a while because enemies just dropped as soon as they spawned and reloads were snappy. THAT is fun. I really couldn't be arsed to buy all of BL2's DLC, and going through 19 levels of marshmallow guns so I can grind out the best top-level guns in the game; it's just bullocks.

If you choose to get just one get tiny tina's assault on dragon keep.
Florentine DPS is incredible and the Antagonist is probably the best general purpose shield.

A friend bought the GOTY edition, which came with an installation disc for Torgue and Capt Scarlett DLC so I got that DLC for free. Only reason why I forked out for Dragon Keep and Hammerlock Hunt sale last week or when ever it was.

Voracidous drops the interfacer constantly in uvhm and that's a great shotgun. Top tier if you maintain the ideal range perfectly.

I've heard killing that beast is annoying as there is no way to dodge the attacks. Will give it a shot some time but I might start farming Pyro Pete solo now that I have max amp damage on my bee shields. And I spent most of my crystals before thinking I can get around it. I assume it works since it does for Torgue tokens. Then again I recently got the Doc's Twister and I haven't tried that.
