I don't have the second level cap DLC but I have a 61 Axton, Maya, Salvador, and Gaige.

Yeah the level cap idea was stupid as it makes trading awkward, let alone with the dumb drop rates. Might look in to this gibbed stuff on Xbox. Looks pretty geeky.

It makes for a divide in the player base for finding random matches; moreso than other multiplayer games. Not only are max-level players without DLC limited in options because other players are in a DLC they don't own, but the amped level cap means a max level 50 will be faced with a wall of level 61/72 players. I'm not saying the higher levelcap is bad, but having something like a filter would have helped immensely.
It wasn't like I had much of a choice, either. I stopped at level 53 because of Wilhelm. I ran out of ammo mid-battle for all 4 of my weapons because the RNG gods hated me and I was stuck with all the hack-drop legendary weapons from level 50 that don't really help me now. "Oh, but buy more ammo" I was told; obviously the best decision. All I need to do is ask Wilhelm to lift me back over the cliff to run back to the start of the level to buy more ammo so I can finish him off. It's like the game assumes that I'll always be in a party of 4 players all the time or solo with all the pearlescent guns all throughout the higher levels. I'm not very optimistic about BL:tPS if awful situations like that are going to keep happening.
This would never happen in BL1. Roland could max out support and throw down a turret for loads of ammo, Mordecai could use his Bloodwing to scavange more items every time his bird hit someone, all Tediore Legendary weapons regenerated ammo when wielded and were relatively common, and every class had a weapon-specific mod that offered powerful ammo regen. I commend Borderlands 2 for getting players to juggle several weapon types at all times, but with the variety of mobs it essentially forced a player to do so. If a player had a really good acid pistol and a really good fire pistol there was only room for one of the other. If they stuck with a Loyalty that (for instance) gave bonuses for Torgue weaponry they'd be really vulnerable to fast-moving targets and enemies resistant to explosive damage. If they knew Stalkers were in the next area there would be a mad scramble to find an electric weapon; essentially giving every enemy a hard counter that would otherwise be met with a lot of sponginess and dying without the use of rare weaponry. Not the worst thing in the world; but dying because you guns went hungry and is a terrible way to kill off any fun in the heat of battle. I would be optimistic about that the game didn't add insult to injury. "Oh, you're all out of ammo? I'll give you 48 SMG bullets and 16 shotgun shells when this enemy dies. HAHAHAHAAA!!!" Jerks.
EDIT: I meant the RNG gods are jerks, not the people on this thread. I love you guys.

I have plenty of characters in UVHM and I never juggle weapons with any of them... Except maybe the mech but that's because I don't have a slag fibber. Sal can akimbo one slag and one shock/non, axton has two slagging turrets so all I use is the Iron Fist, maya has slag phaselock so I just use Butcher, and I don't play with krieg or zero.
I feel like it ultimately just comes down to equipment.

Yeah I have heard of problems when people join public lobbies and I don't think the game states people's OP level after OP3 or something. So you get people at OP8 coming in and getting easy kills. I guess. One of my friends joined my game and I was not amused to see one of the turrets at the Bunker jumped 10 levels so I couldn't kill it. Stupid thing is that their level did not drop when he re-entered as a lower level character. So they can go up in level, but not down....

Idk if I'm just super unlucky or if my game is somehow glitched but all of the butchers / interfacers I've gotten are all corrosive. 5 interfacers and 3 butchers. All corrosive. Am I... am I doing something wrong?

Yeah it's nice but when that's the only thing you get you just get frustrated.
Overall I like shock the most tbh. Not many enemies are resistant to shock.

Shock has less DoT than fire and corrosive though. The amount of flesh based enemies who resist fire damage is stupid.

Yeah I know but I'm lazy so if I have to have an elemental I choose shock. Also I like playing Gaige so that works out well

I agree; shock is baller. Elemental multipliers in UVHM punish use of acid and fire damage where it's not appropriate; but electric damage goes Scot-free. Slag, on the other hand, is a monster. 1.5x across the board is hard to pass up. borderlands.wikia.com/wiki/Elemental_Damage

But the Blasster has a big magazine. Obviously the guns with the biggest magazines are always the best; modern military shooters do this all the time.

not for gaige or sally. Also, is it just me or is the Emperor absolutely terrible?
Also, I couldn't find any info but very rarely phaselock would immediately kill an enemy upon activation of the skill...
It doesn't work on bosses so I think it's something to do with them glitching onto some sort of environment barrier thus just insta-killing them like players falling off of the map

Slagga > Florentine on other characters. I don't use Gaige although I have levelled her up to 72. Prefer Maya.

The Emperor's a PoS. The only reason I use it is because it looks pretty.

If that's the case it's possible to have Axton invest 5 points in Overload with another 6 in the Gunner class mod have 504 rounds in the magazine. The only problem is that this only counts as 252 hammer pulls. Potentially the Madhous is the leader with 380 hammer pulls when maxed out. Minus the Chopper the gun with the biggest mag size in BL1 was the Draco or the Serpens (124). A Heavy Gunner with 5 points in Assault, 5+4 points in Overload and +80% to all mag sizes would make for a 233% boost- 412.

I did wonder whether I did myself no favours when I got a Florentine in a trade (I dupe before a trade anyway) but I have since used it more and it's pretty good. I tend to use SMGs at relatively close range because I usually have an AR on me. Usually it was a Vladof Blaster but I've recently got a corrosive and an incendiary Shredifier. Had a slag Shredifier for some time though. A dual elemental SMG with corrosive and shock would be awesome. I do like Maliwan weaponry. I appear to prefer their Plasma Casters to Hyperion ones.

Thought about maxing it out but for Torgue ARs so I can just have fun with a Plump KerBlaster.

The Draco and Serpens aren't pure and utter crap; and the Madhous is definitely outclassed by the Blasster. The Kerblaster and Shreddifier are at least viable; the Veruc and Hammerbuster are debatable.

SO apparently killing too many legendary loot midgets stops them from dropping legendaries/pearlescents. After I killed around 200 they just stopped dropping any. I killed around 50 afterwards I noticed they stopped dropping and not a single one dropped.
I guess I'll just have to reset my UVHM playthough. Total bullshit, though.

Yeah it definitely stopped dropping. 23 more times with gunzerker/siren and still nothing.
How the fuck does something like this even happen?

This is why I dupe and trade. Only had one legendary from a LLM that I can remember but it wasn't at level 72. Level 53 Fire Bee grenade mod - fun to use though. You could farm Pyro Pete for legendaries. If you use the Groeg Nozzle in Sal's off-hand, DPUH on the other with a good Evolution shield you can kill him pretty quick. It takes me about 3 minutes to kill him and he drops a fair variety of legendaries. I only farm him for a little while because I'd like to see who I'm shooting at.

The RNG gods are cruel and merciless at times. Sometimes, that is- other times they do so in rapid succession... or once in a blue moon. Other times they grant goodness to those who deserve it- which is essentially anything with a pulse... most of the time. The RNG gods are a very peculiar sort. Zeus once tried to talk to them, but the incident was too peculiar to incite any further contact. He ended up in a pair of short shorts, sporting a beer cap for a Martian baseball team that fed into his mouth through a piece of a broken hula hoop.
