Watched streaming on twitch for a few minutes, my first impressions:
1) Basic play meachanism very similar to CoD; 2) The beta is not very stable. The game froze from time to time; 3) It has a feature called "Fire Team" (essentially just two people working together as a buddy-system). The player's Fireteam buddy will be highlighted in green, as a sixth sense from a Tier 1 operator. Their health and emblem will also be in a small toolbar in the top right hand of the screen. Upon repspawn, you can choose "buddy spawn" to spawn near your buddy or "fall back" to spawn at a safe location.

Danger Close is developing the entire game this time around (instead of only SP while DICE does MP). It runs on Frostbite 2 this time as well (the BF3 engine). I messed around a bit but I hate consolols so didn't play much. The frames were pretty terrible but it is a beta so hopefully they fix it. I'd like to pick it up to tide me over until BO2.

i'll check it out probably, after reading some reviews. but my first thought was something like "yes, exactly what we need..another cod-esque modern military shooter.."
what happened to the world-war-two shooters? there were bazillions some years back and now there aren't any decent ones. i want to shoot some nazis again!
ah, those were the times.. i'm really really missing the days when the vicious imperialist xenophobic nationalistic bastards threading all over other peoples countries with a ridiculously excessive war machine were the people i was supposed to be killing, not playing as. (badum-tish!)

Well I, for one, miss shooting AS the Nazis. Modern shooter factions just don't have the same machismo. Call in a helicopter in MW3, hear "friendly helicopter inbound" or something equally forgettable. Wehrmacht calling in dogs in WaW? "Our hounds will tear zem to SHREDS!" That dude means business. He's here to kill people, not read them a goddamn bedtime story.

I played a few hours last night. The spawn system is pretty bad--there were multiple times where I spawned in front of or behind someone.
Weapon damage is...strange. I was using an M14 and it was taking 5 or more bullets at long range; I need more experience with other guns. Anyone have any idea about damage? It seems like I die pretty quickly, but it could have something to do with the health regen, too.

is it as smooth as cod? its just so much smoother than the others, on xbox at least. No, since it's the Frostbite 2 engine there's no way they could make it run at 60FPS on current gen consoles. It's probably maxed out at 30 like BF3.

Played a few games today. My experience was pretty smooth, only had one freeze at the very end. Overall it plays like CoD, so if you are already planning to buy BO2 there is little reason to buy this game as well. The free beta will run for 2 weeks, so if you are tired of MW3 you can play this game for a change. The buddy system is definitely interesting: - Each player has a buddy paired up with him;
- Buddy is always highlighted with green silhouette in game and as green dot on the radar;
- At respawn, you can choose to spawn near your buddy (so the buddy kinda serve like a TI in CoD);
- The enemy who killed your body will be highlighted with red silhouette in game and as red dot on the radar;
- Buddies can supply ammo to each other;

The concept of the buddy system is nice. Not unlike Peace Walker's "Coop In" or GRO's Support Ability. Simple, unobtrusive, lets players focus on the combat and objectives.
Instead of fumbling with items and throwing down static objects that causes everyone who needs to make use of it to stop in their tracks, methods that keep everything going without interruption and encourages players sticking together for benefits is the way to go.
Outside of that, Award of Soldiers: Conflicthaver looks pretty generic military shooter.

i think medal of honour 2010 was hitscan, so probably client side

it was hitscans in SP, but MP ran on frostbite with projectiles...
i wouldn't be surprised to see this client side travesty again, it's the same engine after all. maybe it's not even possible to unfuck that situation in this engine generation.

Just got an email from Origin: I got 50% off Warfighter because I owned BF3 premium. That's a pretty damn good deal, 80 bucks for all the BF3 DLC and another full game.
I'm on PC if it matters.

Should being the key word, EA has been known to take away previously advertised benefits before.

i saw moh cheap (19,99, if anyone cares for exact numbers) in some keystore, so i went for it.
played arround in mp for a bit, sp bugs out for me after the third mission.
it seems pretty neat. i really like how they did the buddy system. it's a little like they fully acknowledged that many players will be retards, and therefore being able to TAKE the support/ammo/health you need is better than living of the mercy of some clown. many interesting game modes, gunplay works nice, hit detection is crisp, and i don't know why, maybe due to how the maps are set up and how inaccurate you get when moving, but there is something resembling real tactics happening in most matches.
scary, i know.
i have not yet figured out what the "spotting/communication" button does though. spotting seems to happen automaticly when you aim at bad guys (another thing i rather like, battlefield was full of wacky guys too retarded to hit Q) and pointing at team mates and spamming the button seems to do nothing, even if it's my buddy and/or i'm out of ammo.
the social features are pretty well integrated, the party/firebuddy system seems to be pretty awesomely executed. form a party, split them into fireteams, go on a server, and Foxtrot doo-dooheads up.
also, integrated and working VOIP!

I like the fire team system a lot. Unfortunately, more often than not, I end up in a game alone, I have a partner and they leave, or my partner is off being retarded. There doesn't seem to be any way to switch teams or fire teams either and I still haven't figured out how to mute everyone (I thought I did, from the Battlelog menu, but I still get VOIP for some reason).

moh doesn't use the ESN-travesty that came with battlefield 3, it has it's own ingame voip. if you want to completely get rid of it, turn it off there.
though by default it's limited to your fireteam buddy, i reccomend leaving that on. what's your origin id/battlelog thingie, maybe we can party up to keep us from ending up with assclowns as buddies?

For bros who are not planning to buy the game but want to see what it is like, you can watch live streaming on twitch to get an idea:

Still debating this. I had finally put it past me that I wouldn't bother with MoH:W, but I noticed the game is half off if you own Premium. For those who have played, would it really be worth it? I've seen plenty of videos on it, and it looks okay. It also seems to play very similar to BF3 (duh), so it's not like there would be much of a learning curve. Well, it seems the TTK is a bit longer. If anything, it looks to be a smaller, more fluid BC2 with no vehicles. Not sure I'd like being forced to buddy up with randoms though. A squad is one thing, but relying on a single, probably bad player doesn't sound fun. I don't know, even with the 50% off (which is still a lot considering EA's ludicrous pricing), I don't think it's worth it. I'd give it a try myself, but my HDD is pretty full. Any non-Premium owners want a 50% code?

-edit: Nevermind, it was because my PVR was on. Graphics are great!

Anyone else find the gunplay absolute trash? Even when standing still the spread seems laughably huge with some guns and you pretty much have to fire in 2-4 round bursts even at close range. Hip firing seems pretty terrible too though maybe that's me.
That's on top of the "I'm a cow trying to walk in 3 feet of water" clunkiness of controls and movement. BF3 is much smoother, imo.

i dunno volgon, i had no such problems. if anything, i'd said that the spread is lower than bf3. similar with movement. i first had mouse smoothing on accidentally, and it ruined my day. but when i found it and turned it off, everything was very smooth and bf3-ee.

Is there an option in a config file somewhere to disable mouse acceleration? I know there isn't one in the in game menu. I did do that MarkC fix a while back though so I'm not sure if it even matters.

I bought it, on PS3.
In my limited time with the game, it seems like hipfire is the only way to go up close.
I have never played any MoH or Battlefield games before, really only ever played COD. That being said, I have no clue what's going on.
Changing weapons is completely un-intuitive. There's no way to change the sights on your weapon between rounds? Why is it so hard to change classes during a round?
Last night I unlocked a Pointman class. This morning, when I started playing, it was locked again. After a few rounds, it was unlocked. Is that an error, or are you only able to use certain classes on certain maps or something?
Is there somewhere online I can see the weapon loadouts all of the different soldiers have?
Does anyone know where I can find weapon stats and things of that nature?
Should I really be focusing on headshots, or should I be aiming for the diaper?
Basically, any tips at all for someone who only has experience with COD?

And I think that there are a few bugs still, which might be why you had to unlock pointman more than once. Also, it might have been pointman for another nation? Not sure.
