By the looks of it... it actually works on some of the bigger maps. Here's a 48-player (pro-mod?) domination match.
I was going to bring that first YT vid to Hey Guy, but honestly I wasn't sure what to discuss. Should CoD have more than just 18 players? Obviously that's a no as long as we keep up with client-based servers; the system would just go kaput on a 12v12 like that from the lack of bandwidth. On the other hand, there are many benefits to having more players: 1) Bad spawns are less likely. Even if the size of the map doesn't change, the 'front lines' will be more pertinent as players will tend to cluster, leave more open spawns, and pushing a flank will generally require you to kill more people. 2) Teams will generally be more balanced without the assistance of SBMM. If I roll eight six-sided dice, chances are the average of those numbers will be closer to the average value of 3.5 compared to rolling just 2 dice and taking their average. As a result matches will generally be fairer, and theoretically spawn-traps will be less likely.

Until you start getting 24-man parties, of course.

Until you start getting 24-man parties, of course. That's something I never understood about parties in CoD; why not just split them up and put them into different teams when they take up the majority of one team?

I like the fact the airstrike didn't kill anyone, because everyone dies too fast. Or maybe the feed is too fast, couldn't really tell as the footage was recorded with a toaster.

Because people like to play with their friends. I guess. No point in making every player in every team-based game type have as close to a 1 in 2 chance of winning as possible through compromising the social aspect of a social playlist. FFA and Mercenary is always there. Great, now I want to see a 48-player pro-league match

An MW2 mod on an MW3 game mode in an MW1 map. I didn't even know that's possible.

The only really bad case of nostalgia in games is the fact that people still buy sonic games. With 007 Legends and Resident Evil; Operation Raccoon City I can think of two other series that might be going on that list, too.

BTW Those last two videos were from Clayman90; two days ago he posted a MW2 Kill Confirmed gameplay on Nuketown. I figure there's no point embedding it since it was a lot like the MW2 Nuketown gameplay I embedded earlier. To change things up, here's a video by IIJeriichoII where he plays on a CoD4 server where the game is modded to look like MW2. (There's swearing involved) The guys who made this probably won't get a lot of points for aesthetic accuracy on the weapons and text; I guess they were just aiming for functionality. My jaw dropped when i saw the Feline SMG from Crysis 2 being used in CoD4, I'm not sure how that happened but I've never seen that before. I also think the bigger version of Nuketown looks pretty neat. I don't know how it'll play out on the competitive side of things, but it looks fun. Here's a demo of CounterStrike: Source with MW2 weapons in it (skip to 0:25): Here's a CoD4 custom map on de-dust2. I'm pretty sure these were same people who made the mod Jericho was playing: CoD4 apparently had their own version of zombies. I found this video that was posted roughly 7 months after the game was released: I know WaW has a large modding community for zombies, MyoElectric has a lot of WaW zombies custom maps on their channel, Yoteslaya has a few custom zombies gametypes himself. My point? I don't really have one. I just had no idea CoD's modding community was this big.

Firing Range from Black Ops, (2:28) more expanded Nuketown gameplay with an AC 130 in there somewhere (5:30) Nashar Canal from BF3 (6:45) Hangar from World at War. It's hard to find a good video of this, but apparently there's a Simpsons multiplayer map out there on CoD4. And they said terminal was a colourful map.

Customizable classes in the middle of the game. WHY WHY WHY ORIGINAL DEVELOPERS CAN'T DO THAT WHEN MODERS CAN??? This is amazing.

Just a heads-up; Pro Mod now exists for Black Ops 1 on the PC.
