if anyone is even a little bit interested in military stuff, simulations, tactical games or coop games, then this is for you.
slowriot i don't have the tricore operational yet. currently playing on some travesty of a frankenstein rig with a 470, 5gb ram and a 2,5 quadcore. runs well enough on minimum in custom missions with 30 players with lots and lots of AI. better than arma2, actually.

My time with Arma 3

thing about arma is (and always has been) that it works quiet differently from your standard shoebox sized cod-like or bf style shooter.
in most modern games, gpu is everything, cpu is rarely fully utilized. 90% of gamers buy a way too strong CPU and end up never fully utilizing it.
the opposite is true for arma. that game is extremely CPU heavy. so all the gamers with their super-tier gpu and weak cpu are getting shafted now ;P
that and the alpha isn't fully optimized yet. keep in mind that this is not a marketing alpha/beta like for example the battlefield 3 "beta" was, essentially just demos labeled "beta" to make them sound more exclusive. this is a real alpha, for test purposes. you can make a real difference by recording your specs and problems at the official feedback site.
also, turn shadows to normal or high of you have them on low. absurdly enough, that improves performance because that way they are calculated via gpu and not the cpu.

Changing any graphic settings does nothing to FPS, so I play on High/Ultra. I believe I have shadows on high too. I don't think they will be able to optimize it. They never did it with Arma 2, even in singleplayer missions FPS are dropping to 25-30. Another funny fact is that DayZ developers don't use Arma 3 engine in DayZ Standalone. Because there is absolutely nothing new in Arma 3, except derpy ragdoll which doesn't make things better.

Does anybody else put their cards up for sale immediately after getting them? I mean, if you're not into that kind of thing, why wouldn't you?

I should probably sell all the cards that are now cluttering up my inventory. Maybe get a buck or two.

Well, I've made six steambux from selling all these cards, a bunch of weapons and the two TF2 hats I never use in about two hours time.
Maybe if I idle about in all these "marketable" games that I got super cheap on humble sales, I could reduce the buyer's remorse I'd have for buying a sixty dollar AAA title.

Now I'm at 6.80. Still have one ARMA3 card to get. Hm, Brütal Legend has eight cards and fifteen total, and Mark of the Ninja has five of nine. Given that they are in the current humble bundle sale, card prices will be fluctuating for the next week. I should get on those.
Oh, 6.89.

I made like 22 bucks just selling everything that was in my TF2 inventory. Most expensive was a Vintage Vintage Tyrolean for $5.

Now at nine and a half bucks.
I left ARMA 3 on for about six hours since I had to go out and didn't turn it off. The "Dynamic Universal War System" kept on going. Must have spawned hundreds of AI who went on fighting all across Altis while I was out. Damn framerate went from a smooth 60 to about 10 from all the processing required.
