Looks dope and it should feel dopey. Thanks IW. www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-06-06-respawns-titanfall-leaked-set-for-pc-xbox-one-and-xbox-360- Campaign Multiplayer, "traditional" multiplayer mode, and a "One-Player Mode". - Spring 2014 Release Date - There are a good amount of screens. In my opinion it visually looks pretty nice. - First person shooter - "Mech" and ground combat - "Mech's" are called Titans. - They want these Titans to feel fast. They can dodge etc. - If you don't want to pilot the Titan you can have it follow you, killing people as it goes along. - Player characters are called Pilots (male and female) - They are extremely agile. Can run on walls, multiple jumps. - They can take down Titans. Jumping on them and shooting the "brain". - You need to be cunning as a pilot. "Hit and fade" tactics is the term the game director uses. - Pilots come equipped with a variety of weapons. Pistol, Assault Rifle, Anti-Titan Rocket Launcher, data knife used to hack AI characters into joining you. - There are AI enemies on the maps. - You survive longer than in COD. Making it more welcoming to newcomers. - Source Engine. Building new engine = too much time. - Source gives them 60 fps - Modified Source - "Rewriting major portions of it". - Article talks about the process of forming the team, being fired, prototyping ideas etc. I recommend reading it. - Going for a District 9 or Blade Runner vibe. - Integrate memorable single player moments into a multiplayer game. - Storytelling style will be more Left 4 Dead. - Humans segregated between Earth and frontier planets. Corporation trying to take the resources of these frontier people. - Progression system. No details yet

CoD wasnt welcoming to newcomers? That's what I thought was funny. Low TTKs make for an easy game.

For those who haven't seen it:
Looks awesome. Has Brink-level parkour to give infantry some tools to work with when fighting Titans. I'm very interested as to how the Titan/infantry balance will work out. It appears that every player has a Titan that has a cooldown instead of requiring a certain amount of kills or points to get. I like that, it gives every player a chance to pilot awesome mechs. The only downside is that I think a lot of players will just hide in corners while they wait for their cooldown and never do anything as an infantry.

I wonder what dictates who gets his titan when, or if it's just random (which I don't like)

It's a real shame it's not going to be on the PS4 I have no doubts this is just a temporary exclusive This is EA after all and releasing this on another platform will no doubt be profitable enough

Especially if it does well on the xbox platform, dont underestimate microsofts ability to pay big $$$ to keep it as an exclusive title. Other than that, this game looks ultra awesome, definitely one of the big factors for me getting an xbox one. Hopefully it lives up to the expectations.

A question for Xbox360 and PS3 players: Has Titanfall's 360/XBone/PC supposed exclusivity or Microsoft's XBone-launch PR issues tempted you in any way to playing Titanfall on the PC?
Some of my 360-friends have made some comments about potentially returning to PC.

No, I will either be getting it for 360 or PS4 if they end up not being exclusive. Though the main reason is that I don't have enough friends I meet day-to-day who have a good gaming PC.

They both have fall at the end of the name, so they are virtually the same thing.

The campaign multiplayer thing worries me a little. It mentioned the there will be AI, and assuming it doesn't mean the AI of your Titan when you're not piloting it, it could be Brink all over again.

Brink's "Campaign" was just a shoddy cutscene (usually of just the teams entering the map) at the beginning of each mission and some small scene at the end depending on which side won. The missions' stories were barely related to one another and what was in the missions was almost nothing.
This looks like it'll have an opening scene with actual content and throw in some exposition that stays out of the way. The end of the round being more than just an instant end (the losing team having a minute to evacuate and the winning team able to stop some for extra points, presumably) is interesting.

Not to mention I'd say a much bigger problem with Brink were the matchmaking issues and horrific unlock system as opposed to the lackluster campaign. Not to mention the buggy netcoding for 3 months after launch; that was a huge turnoff.

I remember having little/no issues at launch, but the console crowd having a huge problem getting into games.

In TitanFall does the game spawn AI soldiers for each team during multiplayer matches? If it works the way it does in Brink, empty player slots will be filled by AI.

A while ago I had this notion that squads of AIs would periodically spawn on each side to aid both teams in combat and keep the whole battlefield active; sort of like the minions in DoTA 2 and LoL. After doing some research I've discovered that Counter-Strike 1.5 (released June 19th, 1999) introduced bots that filled in for missing players... So why wasn't this a feature on more FPSes? This could have saved so much grief in Call of Duty!
