I'd be a little worried if your teeth weren't boney. Also it turns out that the guy who makes these is kcsnipesalters.deviantart.com/Also this was... interesting. That, or "Curiousity" (Enchantment - Draw a card when enchanted creature deals damage to an opponent) alongside a Hexproof Stalker would make for one heck of a control deck.

Alright, so after trying out a few 4v4 matches I learned that 4v4 is a cesspool of shenanigans and misery:
-Just to be clear, this format is essentially Two-Headed Giant with 4 people and 50HP on each team. -A large ground army is useless for offensive capability. You want unblockable creatures, flying creatures; that sort of thing. -Putting all your chips on one creature is a bad idea. Whatever it is, it will get pacified or destroyed. -After you start losing enough momentum you just don't get it back. Down 10 points of health? There's a high chance that gap's going to widen until the losing team hits 0 HP. -When one person on the team gets land blocked it gets nasty. -Extort, along with any other condition that refers to 'each player' is really powerful and annoying.

Figured I would share my most recent creations and achievements since I haven't here in a while. I've won/placed in many FNMs, I tied for first at a gameday and have shared custody of a nice playmat. At Pax I was the only person in my group of 20 to win my game in under 5 minutes... so I got the rare opportunity to preview the DotP 2015 trailer/UI. You get to fully construct decks from packs...so it looks more like magic online than anything. That was the highlght of Pax for me...most of my friends were jelly. I am running 2 different decks atm. One is a combo control. One is good ol' Naya Hexproof. It is super heavy on the Double green and doesn't run any non-hexproof creatures... I consider goreclan to be an instant... The sideboard transforms it into an OTK deck to beat control. Naya Hexpproof: 4 Gladecover Scout 4 Bassara Tower Archer 3 Witchstalker 1 Sylvan Carytid 2 Goreclan Rampager 4 Boros Charm 2 Selesnya Charm 2 Commune with the Gods 4 Etherial Armor 4 Madcap Skills 4 Unflinching Courage 2 Gift of Orzhova 1 Lightning Talons 1 Ajani Caller of the Pride 4 Temple of Triumph 4 Temple of Abandon 4 Temple of Plenty 4 Temple Garden 5 Forest 1 Plains U/B Madness Lock This is combo deck that plays like certain modern decks. It can win by getting its combo or it can win the way mono-black normally does...either with giant demons or with a single packrat on turn 2. There are a multitude of gameplans here and normally that would be bad...but we get to run a full suite of pain seers/disciple of deceit which searches out the combo pieces. Another thing to pay attention to is the CMC of the cards in the deck...because of disciple you can pitch any non-land card from your hand in order to get one of equal CMC from your deck. Thankfully both combo pieces for the notion thief lock are 4 drops. Here is the combo btw... On the 4th turn...your opponents turn... you flash notion thief in during thief end phase. On your turn you play whispering madness. Normally your opponent would discard thier whole hand and draw new cards...except since notion thief is out so you draw those card instead. So say your opponent has 4 cards in hand and you have 3... you both discard your hands then you draw 8 cards (4x2) while your opponent has nothing. THEN that ability gets ciphered onto a card of your choice. Notion thief works against your opponent's sphinx's revelation and works with your master of feasts and dictate of kurphix. This combo is fairly easy to achieve. The control Gameplan circles around pain Seer/disciple/Macar/Springleaf drum and the massive amount of removal in the deck. Macar is repeatable removal and ramp. If you can get him going he is hard to stop. 4 Drops 4 Notion Thief 2 Desecration Demon 2 King Macar, The Gold Cursed 2 Whispering Madness 3 Drops 4 Hero's Downfall 2 Master of the Feast 1 Dictate of Kruphix 2 Drops 4 Pain Seer 4 Disciple of Deceit 4 Devour Flesh 2 Pack Rat 1 Hidden Strings 1 Drops 4 Springleaf Drum 1 Triton Tactics 10 Swamp 7 Island 2 Watery Grave 4 Temple of Deceit

In case anyone gets a 404 while looking up these cards *Sylvan Caryatid *Ghor-Clan *Ethereal Armor
Wait, what exactly do you mean by these 'packs'? As in you're guaranteed to get X number of cards that fall in 1-3 colors, and you have to make a deck out of that? That sounds interesting.
EDIT: I watched the teaser- is Garruk going Golgari? What is happening?

According to the lore, Garruk gets possessed by Liliana. So Garruk is probably going to be a Golgari card.
Apparently after every win you get a small "pack" of cards that you can augment your deck with. There appeared to be a challenge area and a tutorial area. I'm not sure how this will work with multiplayer, but the single player looks excellent.

That sounds interesting Instead of having preconstructed decks with 30-40 sideboard cards that you can pull in or out, you'll instead have a card collection from which you can build your own decks (with certain restrictions depending on card rarity).

I tried taking my collection (~1400 cards, ~870 non-lands) and randomizing the entire draft to make a tournament from purely randomized decks. I made 32 stacks of random cards, divided them in pairs, swapped some stuff around so each deck was a tri-colour combination, and let them go at each other.
The results were hilariously bad games. It was basically a pissing contest of who had the rarest cards in their deck. One guy lost because he had no Anti-Air and a Sentry of the Underworld blew all his hitpoints away. In the round of 32 and 16 a lot of decks had nothing higher than an uncommon; they literally took forever to kill each other off. My randomization method did not guarantee a perfectly smooth mana curve. The decks that lost out early on were reliant on heavy devotion to a single/binary colour combo; those turned to dust mid-late game. Howl of the Night Pack (6F, spawn a 2/2 wolf creature token for every forest you own) would send out 3 tokens on a good day.

Hey! I started getting into commander now that I have a bi-weekly playgroup. Mayael, The Anima is my commander. Its a super-duper budget deck and I definitely know of cards I want to work towards...but imo that is going to be the main fun of commander for me! Already I know it feels awesome when I get one cool card. 1 Khalni Garden 1 Jungle Shrine 1 Command Tower 1 Mosswort Bridge 1 Vivid Crag 1 Secluded Steppe 1 Smoldering Crater 1 Forgotten Cave 1 Slippery Karst 1 Drifting Meadow 1 Tranquil Thicket 1 Evolving Wilds 1 Temple of the False God 1 Homeward Path 8 Plains 5 Mountain 8 Forest 1 Terramorphic Expanse 36 Lands 1 Eternal Witness 1 Armada Wurm 1 Eternal Dragon 1 Colossus of Akros 1 Deadbridge Goliath 1 Spitebellows 1 Avenger of Zendikar 1 Polukranos, World Eater 1 Rampaging Baloths 1 Krosan Tusker 1 Spellbreaker Behemoth 1 Bearer of the Heavens 1 Giant Adephage 1 Molten Primordial 1 Engulfing Slagwurm 1 Steel Hellkite 1 Spearbreaker Behemoth 1 Artisan of Kozilek 1 Pathrazer of Ulamog 1 Yavimaya Elder 1 Deadwood Treefolk 1 Magus of the Arena 1 Hydra Broodmaster 1 Mayael the Anima 24 Creatures 1 Spawning Grounds 1 Praetor's Counsel 1 Wrath of God 1 Where Ancients Tread 1 Warstorm Surge 1 Fires of Yavimaya 1 Harmonize 1 Swiftfoot Boots 1 Naya Charm 1 Boros Charm 1 Hull Breach 1 Darksteel Mutation 1 Tempt with Discovery 1 Rampant Growth 1 Farseek 1 Cultivate 1 Peregrination 1 Sprouting Vines 1 Chromatic Lantern 1 Sol Ring 1 Dictate of Karametra 1 Garruk, Primal Hunter 1 Mimic Vat 1 Boundless Realms 1 Genesis Wave 1 Planar Cleansing 1 Rites of Flourishing 1 Kodama's Reach 1 Skyshroud Claim 1 Day of Judgment 1 Fervor 1 Akroma's Vengeance 1 Phyrexian Processor 1 Ranger's Path 1 Explosive Vegetation 1 Phyrexian Rebirth 1 Behemoth Sledge 1 Tower of Fortunes 1 Blasphemous Act 1 Catastrophe (40 spells) Heh heh. I'd definitely use Trollhide or something for Uril.
Going back to Mayael, her ability seems to sync with Godtracker of Jund. Sure you're paying 3 mana for a 2/2 creature with no abilities, but once two giant monsters roll in it'll start to pay off.
Then again my Naya deck is ass; I've been alternating between Golgari control and Simic mid-game lately. I've never seen these colour combos done in MTG tournaments, but hot damn they're fun.

I think I already told this but I once went monogreen against an Orzhov deck and reached the late late LATE game.
I had a Nessian Asp (4G Creature, 4/5, Reach, 6G Monstrous +4/+4) with Trollhide (2G Enchantment, +2/+2, 1G - Regenerate creature). He had a Seraph of Dawn (2WW Creature, 2/4, Flying, Lifelink) with Blessing on it (WW Enchantment, W - target creature gets +1/+1).
We both had 20 land on the field by the time we were done; I only won because I managed to pull out a copy of "Prey Upon" (G, Instant. Target creature you control fights creature you don't control). By then his health was at 136; it dropped fast from there.

I've been having a tough time making a decent Golgari deck. Regen and Scavenge are really cool concepts; it's just that they cost a lot of mana to make happen. Sure you get stuff back from the grave all the time, but for me it's like there's no mid-game strat that can win the game for Golgari. Deathtouch is pretty sweet, but it doesn't offer a lot of offensive prowess. Any idea how to make a decent Golgari deck (if it's even viable)?
Ooh, and I've been trying Azorious and hit the same problem. I've invested a lot in creatures with vigilance, flash, return and tap spells, but any wins I got were all drawn out and painful. It might just be a case of not having blue/white legendaries... or no flyers; oh well.

So, idk what your resources are, but Golgari Monoblack (lol oxymo rons) or Monoblack Splash Green is actually a thing right now. I faced one in FNM today and I also heard word of them used in competitive events. It's pretty much the standard mono-black list with abrupt decay/golgari charm/sometimes Reaper of the Wilds. My current deck is customized to beat monoblack...tonight I went up against 3. Beat the first two and split for first with my buddy (the third monoblack). I'll lay out their gameplan. Turn 1 they want to thoughtseize you ideally. Turn two they want to drop pack rat. Pack Rat IS the ideal midgame and early game for monoblack. You discard cards with pack rat that are bad for your current matchup. You use thoughtseize to stop anything that could stop your avalanche of rats. You have all the sweet black removal spells. You have underworld connections and sign in blood for your draw power. You have desecration demon at your 4 drop (though getting another rat on turn 34 is better than playing your demon) and finally grey merchant at the 5 drop. He just swings the game in your favor and can make sure losing opponents stay down.

He just swings the game in your favor and can make sure losing opponents stay down. Huh. I've been scouring for multicolour golgari cards to pile on a monogreen setup; I was just curious if it was commonplace in high-level games. I got my hands on several copies of Suiceway Scorpion (3 is a generous scavenge cost), Pharika's Mender (chaining in and out of the grave once 5 lands hit the table), Shambling Shell (okay I guess), Woodwraith Strangler (2/2 on a 4-drop, yikes, but that regen yo), Korozda Guildmage (offensive prowess), Feymire Crocodile (though 3 mana for lifelink is too much mana), Consume Strength (buff/removal), Grisly Salvage (poor man's Commune With the Gods), and Trestle Troll (3 mana to regen is a lot). From there I threw on deadly recluse, Ambush Viper (lol where'd your overkill monster go?), aerial predation, trollhide, leeching bite and rounded it off with 15 forest & 10 swamp. I wanted to find a few copies of stuff like Putrid Leech, Dreg Mangler, and Noxious Hatchling, but couldn't find any. Why so many commons/uncommons? Because I'm poor and already invested in MTG. I'm not going to any tournaments any time soon, but I did manage to find a comic book store that sells second-hand MTG cards. Essentially I can pay under $100 for 2000 cards, and get enough cards to support any colour combo imaginable. I've noticed the game is much more welcoming to long-haul strategies once rares and mythic rares are out of the equation; mostly because a lot of players don't need 1/2 drops in the early game to cover their butts. But then monored happened, and everything died in 5 turns. Come to think of it, anything with red does really well; except Rakdos. I don't have enough Rakdos cards to make a decent deck with.

The last line of the descrption may as well be in Chinese. I'm guessing they're all physics terms that might have something to do with electricity. All I can read is "90 degrees = Tap Niv Mizzet and something happens". I have no idea what.

Turn (Z->) Sideways and it is: Niv Turn (E-NNW)sideways and it is Mizze Then you add the "t" Then (=) means "is" then 1 means "number one" To spell "Niv Mizzet is Number One" Yay Flavor!

Apparently Day[9] did an AMA on Reddit today. He was asked what his favourite colour combo was; apparently he likes Golgari. He then links over to a deck by Brian Kibler (Dec 2012)
Creatures (26): 4 Arbor Elf (G, 1/1, Tap: untap target forest) 3 Deadbridge Goliath (2GG, 5/5, 4GG: Scavenge) 3 Dreg Mangler (1BG, 3/3, Haste, 3BG: Scavenge) 4 Lotleth Troll (BG, 2/1, Discard creature card: Lotleth Troll gets a +1/+1 counter, B: Regenerate) 4 Predator Ooze (GGG, 1/1, Indestructible, Gets a +1/+1 counter every time it attacks or damages a creature that died this turn) 3 Strangleroot Geist (GG, 2/1, Haste, Undying) 3 Ulvenwald Tracker (G, 1/1, 1G + Tap: Target creature you control fights another target creature) 2 Wolfir Avenger (1GG, Flash, 1G: Regenerate)
Planeswalkers (3): 2 Garruk Relentless 1 Garruk Primal Hunter
Spells (8): 4 Rancor (Enchantment, G. Target creature gets +2/+0 and has Trample, upon entering the graveyard it returns to its owner's hand) 1 Tragic Slip (Instant, B. Target Creature gets -1/-1 until end of turn, Morbid: -13/-13) 3 Ultimate Price (Instant, 1B. Destroy target monocoloured creature) The Cozen? That's what his name is? I thought he was just some dude on "Executioner's Swing".
Land (23) 11 Forest 1 Swamp 3 Golgari Guildgate 4 Overgrown Tomb 4 Woodland Cemetery
Sideboard (15) 3 Deathrite Shaman 2 Ranger's Guide 2 Tragic Slip 1 Garruk, Primal Hunter 1 Appetite for Brains 4 Duress 2 Sever the Bloodline

This happened to me today. I literally died in 5 turns and felt like a massive noob for it. EDIT: Just to be clear; this is not my hand. This was a creature on the field with 6 enchantments on- the dude cheesed me with a 15/6 Flying Dragon.

woah. That's like how my hexproof deck runs and all.
Also, this is the deck I am working on for post rotation once all my fancy hexproof stuff rotates out.
Creature (19) 3x Agent of the Fates 2x Disciple of Deceit 2x Master of the Feast 4x Omenspeaker 4x Ornithopter 4x Pain Seer
Land (22) 4x Darksteel Citadel 7x Island 7x Swamp 4x Temple of Deceit
Artifact (4) 4x Springleaf Drum
Instant (11) 4x Boon of Erebos 4x Retraction Helix 3x Triton Tactics
Enchantment (4) 4x Ensoul Artifact
So the goal is pretty much end the game with an big 5/5 artifact from ensoul artifact. You can use it on darksteel citadel to make it indestructable. You can use it on ornithopter to make it fly. You can use it on springleaf drum for utility. It plays very synergy oriented. Spring leaf to tap pain seers for draw power and ornithopters for free mana. Omenspeaker smooths draws. Agent of fates snipes with the 11 instants. Master of Feasts beats face for 5+5+5+5=20 with ensoul.
This is very similar to one of the dimir lists I posted earlier, it just removes everything old and inputs alot of stuff from M15.
An ideal opening is
Turn 1 darksteel citadel play springleaf drum. Turn 2 play land. Play ornithoptor for free. Tap ornithopter with springleaf for blue mana. Play ensoul artifact on darksteel citadel. Attack with an indestructible 5/5 on turn two (since it doesn't have summoning sickness).

That's... actually pretty beastly. I once tried Dimir Artifact (no rare cards) with heavy emphasis on equipment and artifacts. The star of the show was my Arsenal Thresher. It's pretty much useless in tournaments, but I like it for its fun factor. Four mana for a 5/5 - 7/7 non-rare creature is pretty silly.
I should do some research on artifacts; see if I can get a metalcraft equipment deck going or something. It's fun rolling out a deck full of small artifact creatures, buffing them into big ones, and amassing this giant clunky hot mess of equipment lying around the battlefield that your opponent is likely unequipped to deal with. Oh, did you remove me? Well, I guess I'll pull out another little guy and arm him with the 4 leonin scimitars the last guy had. Dude's only got 2 claws and this is logistically impossible, but we'll make this work! Get the duct tape!
I've always wondered what a Selesnya Aggro deck looked like, and Brian Kibler delivers again! He reportedly went 6-3-1, that one loss resulting from a mirror matchup.
Creatures (25):
4 Experiment One (G, 1/1, Evolve, Remove 2 +1/+1 counters: regenerate) 4 Soldier of the Pantheon (W, 2/1, Protection from multicoloured, when an opponent casts a multi-colour spell you gain 1 life) 2 Sunblade Elf (G, 1/1, +1/+1 if you control a Plains, 4W: Creatures you control get +1/+1 until end of turn) 4 Voice of Resurgence (GW, 2/2, When an opponent casts a spell during your turn OR when this creature dies, put a creature token on the field whose P/T equals the number of creatures you control.) 4 Fleecemane Lion (GW, 3/3, 3GW: Monstrosity 1 + indestructible + hexproof) 4 Loxodon Smiter (1GW, 4/4, can't be countered, if discarded it goes onto the battlefield) I think we found an answer to that rat deck. 3 Boon Satyr (1GG, 4/2, Flash, Bestow 3GG)
Spells (9):
3 Advent of the Wurm (1GGW Instant, put a 5/5 Wurm creature token onto the field) - Keep in mind that it's an INSTANT; this is a 5/5 creature with flash for 4 mana! 4 Selesnya Charm (GW Instant, Target creature gets +2/+2 and trample for one turn OR exile target creature with power 5 or greater OR put a 2/2 White Knight creature token with vigilance on the field) 2 Banishing Light (2W Enchantment, exile target nonland permanent until this enchantment is removed)
Planeswalkers (3)
3 Ajani Caller of the Pride
Land (23)
4 Temple Garden 4 Mana Confluence 7 Plains 7 Forest 1 Temple of Plenty
Sideboard:
3 Skylasher 2 Gods Willing 4 Setessan Tactics 1 Ajani Steadfast 1 Ajani, Mentor of Heroes 2 Back to Nature 2 Hunt the Hunter

Very solid deck.

I especially like the Loxodon Smiter; that's a really good counter to discard spells. The one thing I don't get is his use of "Mana Confluence". In a binary colour combo you don't really need spells that require "One mana of any colour"- the probability of being scarce in one mana type in a binary setup is really low- especially when you have gates. While life gain is commonplace in white and green setups and 1/2 life means less in such a matchup; it seems unnecessary. In theory 4 copies of Temple of Plenty would be more helpful here- I think. Speaking of discard spells:
