Hi guys,
So I feel I have been missing out. I played the beta on PC but I am planning on buying titanfall on a Xbox asap. I don't own a xbox one yet, and don't know yet what my next gen console will be (depends on friends, who seem to go for PS4, and wheather the next titanfall will be on ps4 (if the game is actually as good as I thought)).
Now my question is, should I just pre-order it for my xbox 360? I am afraid the game will be buggy/bad because the xbox can't do it or because the other studio **** up. If the game is bad, I will have to save the money to buy the Xboner asap I guess. Do you guys think there is a decent chance the 360 version will be teribad? Or am I seeing ghosts and should I just pre-order it? Right now I think I will buy it after work on the release day, after some quick googleling around 4 PM. The drawback is that it is around 10 euro's more expensive in the non online store

Rumor has it that it's 30fps, in which case it won't have that smooth COD feel. Though really the Xbox One version struggles with frame rate enough to where it doesn't quite have that smooth COD feel a lot of the time either, hopefully they can improve performance in a patch. The studio doing the porting at least has a solid reputation with that kind of work. I would still expect Titanfall 2 to be on PS4 as well, that's what Vince Zampella seems to imply anytime someone asks him at least.

I will preorder it tomorrow ! I don't know why so much people are so suspicious of the Xbox 360 version. 1. It's a port by a different developer. Even if they have a good reputation that's still enough to bring some questions. 2. BF4 is the closest game we have for comparison. The PS3/360 versions are much more limited than the X1/PS4/PC versions. 30 vs 60 fps, resolution, graphics, map detail, etc. No one expects the same from the 360 as the X1 but there absolutely must be some sacrifices. If it's not 60 fps I won't consider it further. But I'm expecting it'll look like crysis 3 and that would be pretty bad too (looked like it was upscaled from something like 400p from what I recall of the beta). 3. No info at all. At best its MS trying to get people onto X1 and PC at worst it's trying to not attract attention to something of MUCH lesser quality.

Hmm, I actually don't know how 30 fps 'feels like'. But it will probably get noted by allot of people because FPS seems to be a big deal in the media. Or is it one of those hyperflated fan boy arguments like 1080 vs 900p? What FPS was halo 2/3 for example? Never had any problem with its FPS. A quick Google did not really help, and I only found rumors about the upcoming HALO. Thnx for keeping me up to date witty

I'm fairly sure Halo 3 was 30 fps.

Why not just get it for PC and then play it on PC with your Xbox controller. That way you get the console feel, but all the benefits of the PC version!

Pc players tend to forget not everybody has a gaming pc around. My pc barely played the beta. And if I was planning on buying a pc to play titanfall, I could also buy a one. I have thought about it though. Also my friends are on xbox 360 right now

That is what I am afraid about. Seeing shitty reviews about the 360 version and buying it as an impulse purchase...

You mentioned Halo 3 and Gears of War 2 trumped it quite easily for graphics. I don't remember people chastising Halo for that though.

Sooo... apperently I have to wait a few extra weeks... as long as the game is actually good 8th of april I can live with it, but the skepticism inside of me grows by these kind of messages.
Already checking amazon.de and amazon.en to find nice deals on an Xboner. (Xboner will not release in the Netherlands until late 2014...) Any tips how to get coupons to make it even cheaper?
On the plus side, my Ghosts season pass will be less wasted by this delay. I might actually play the new COD maps and extinction story now

My XB1 has just been delivered so I'll be getting my first taste of Titanfall later after work. Are there any tips for starting out, like play campaign first to learn maps, or just jump straight in with multiplayer?

My XB1 has just been delivered so I'll be getting my first taste of Titanfall later after work. Are there any tips for starting out, like play campaign first to learn maps, or just jump straight in with multiplayer? There's a tutorial mode and I would go through that just to get a grip on everything, it doesn't take that long. Then play the campaign first. You have to complete it on both sides to unlock all the Titan chassis and you progress whether you win or lose so you might as well get that out of the way first. The campaign is just like multiplayer anyways just with specific map and game type combinations with extra VoiceOver and music. Plus it's counts as multiplayer in leveling and challenges and stuff. So you'll already be progressing in multiplayer as you complete campaign. After you unlock both chassis you can switch to multiplayer (they call it Classic) and do whatever. Also when you start out, you are gonna get matched up with people who way outrank you and are better than you. There's really nothing you can do about this as there's no skill basis for matchmaking and teams aren't reshuffled between matches. I wouldn't stress out about it much as you're still learning and all but people who have been playing the game longer will have an advantage over you. There's no easy way around this other than to suck it up and keep playing. Don't worry, you'll get better.

Okay thanks n1gh7. Campaign first to unlock the Titans then Classic mode. Have fun.... I picked up this game on release day and have yet to play anything else since. 99% sure that this will replace COD from my regular gaming lineup for quite a while.

Regarding the 360 version of Titanfall, I think people should have confidence that it will be solid. Why? Because there are just too much money on the line for the developers / publishers to risk messing up. The majority of the 360 owners are still holding out on buying next gen console: waiting for the price to drop or trying to decide between XB1 vs. PS4. Many of them will pick up Titanfall for 360 as long as the game is good enough. Let's look at XB1 vs. 360 sales of Ghosts ( source; www.vgchartz.com ): XB1 - 1.57 million, 360 - 8.28 million. So I won't be surprised if Titanfall 360 outsells Titanfall XB1 2-to-1, 3-to-1 or even higher. Regarding the delay of Titanfall 360 and lack of news / leaks / marketing: the conspiracy theory is that Microsoft is riding on the wave of Titanfall success to push XB1, and they want to do it a bit longer. After all, 2 more weeks are very little time to further "polish" a game. Just my 2 cents.

Update from the 360 version port developer: www.titanfall.com/news/xbox-360-update-from-daryl-allisonBesides the graphics (looks like mainly in the aspect of Frame Rate, which is still above 30 FPS on the X360 version), everything else should be the same as the XBox One and PC version. Pre-order as of 03/29 (based on vgchartz.com): 165,298. Still a pretty solid number considering that there are almost zero marketing on this specific version. I expect the number of copies on X360 will outsell XONE (1,110,449 copies as of 03/22), not only from the players who are still holding off on next gen, but also from players who bought PS4 but also has a X360.

I pre-ordered-- should arrive today. Hopefully I'll get a chance to get it installed and fire up a quick game. I'll report back after initial play.

Popped the disc in, no option to install to hard drive. Disc appears to spin the entire time while playing (I had forgotten how loud that was since I always install to HDD). Admittedly, I only made it through training mode and didn't get to any multiplayer action yet so I won't comment on the graphics until I do. I suspect it will be fine though. (I'm playing on a 32" 720p plasma at five feet away.)

Performance analysis from Digital Foundry: www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-titanfall-xbox-360-performance-analysisTL;DR: If Titanfall is the only reason that makes you think about buying an XONE, I think that you can happily delay that decision and mostly satisfied with playing it on X360. After all, it is a online MP only game, for which the graphics quality is not a super big deal. Your eyes are too busy focusing on your reticle and enemies anyway to have time to appreciate finer graphic details.
