Am i to understand that using Bling Pro on the Model 1887's and slapping on Akimbo along with FMJ causes the Models to retain their old (pre patch) range?

That is correct.
According to some sources, akimbo/fmj 1887's may have even higher damage/range post-patch... but I haven't personally tested this - I'm not level 67 yet.

it's true, it shoots 2 more pellets and has 5 more max dmg, effectively buffing it by 50%.
6-8 pellets
35-40 max dmg

2 questions I thought I already knew:
Pre patch, did the akimbo models do 40 damage per pellet, and now they do 35? (not referring to the bling verison)
Also, pre patch, did the akimbo models shoot 6 pellets each, or 8? How many pellets per shot now?
I guess I'm sorta confused lol

LWp gives you increased "kill reaction" at any range, whereas SP only benefits you for about 60% of your effective shotgun range.
besides, if you NEED sp to kill anything at that close a range with akimbo terminators you need to relearn FPS.
