Dumien, can you elaborate how this whole guided thing works? How do you get in the beta? And do we get additional gear for it? We have a pretty big clan too, and often are willing to help or just looking for something to do before the next reset.

Dumien, can you elaborate how this whole guided thing works? How do you get in the beta? And do we get additional gear for it? We have a pretty big clan too, and often are willing to help or just looking for something to do before the next reset. So I'll give you my limited understanding of what is going on. Bungie previously estimated that 30-50% of players would get these seeker tickets. I understand this to mean that if you are "nightfall ready" (light level) you are put in a queue to receive a seeker ticket. If you have one of these you can solo queue nightfall and be matched with a clan who is duo queuing. After the first week, clans will be given "oathkeeper scores" based on how effective they were at getting people through a nightfall. You get a positive score only by 1) completing an activity (in this case nightfall) or 2) "parting amicably." After the second week the same will apply to nightfall. Clans get a higher matchmaking queue priority based on their relevant oathkeeper score. Eventually we will be getting rewarded for doing these. Currently the only reward is the nightfall experience lol. As far as I know the oathkeeper scores only gt calculated at reset? we did 5-6 successful guided nightfalls last night and we didn't see a change on the clan page.

That is cool nonetheless! In your experience, does the solo que guy at least join your party? Also, what is 2) parting amicably? do they have to do a 5 question survey or something after leaving

So does one need to join a clan to get in on this?
I think the game auto defaulted me to some clan I never heard of.

Thanks! hopefully I can contribute something once I get higher. That said, it looks like if I let someone lead me through and we are successful, the clan gets bonus stuff for helping people? Reading what you wrote earlier.

I am not sure I'm sold on the forced clan system, but I very much appreciate that they allow the clans to be cross-platform. I like having a little connection to the PS4 crew beyond this board.

What's the forced clan system mal? I just mean the HUGE advantage you gain in being in a big clan - the weekly powerful engram rewards for clan activities. It essentially precludes having a small group (like the DenK clan) if you want to get the best rewards. Also, having a bigger clan greatly increases the likelihood of the clan earning the weekly experience cap - something the DenK clan failed to achieve in week 1 due to a lack of active players. When a clan levels up, each members gets additional small rewards for various activities (like earning more glimmer for certain things, etc.).

Someone sent me an invite and I accepted. Does that count? I have no clue how any of the clan stuff works. I can barely figure out how to find shit during the patrols.

Wanna hear something even more ridiculous.... If a fireteam in a clan completes the raid, all clan members get the possibility of raid gear (at power level 10) On PS4, this is called the "Bradcompany Loot Generation System" named after our very own bradman . Mr. bradman is famous for flying into several shorthanded raids just when the boss is about die, and receive elite, god rolled loot... before the black screen has even produced the picture. Crota was his specialty. Monsieur Company's ability to get raid loot without raiding is unparalled in Destiny 1. He didn't limit this to raids either... I distinctly remember soloing the Archon Priest on a rainbow burn (throw back thursday's, y'all!!!!) and having Brad jump in just as I took the last snipe to the Priests head, to receive an exotic (truth or dragon's breath... I forget) I... of course, received strange coins and a ghost shell. I fully expect Maestro bradman to have a full set of raid gear and weapons by mid November, without ever stepping foot on the Leviathan. Don't get me wrong.. I love clan rewards... but raid gear for not doing the raid? Bungo dun did fahq up wit dis EDIT: This will happen with Trials gear too, supposidly

Yeah loot for everyone. Also, while the first weeks clan rewards can help a ton, everything maxes out at 300 (+5) AFAIK. Players who have done end game content for a few weeks, will be 305 regardless of clan rewards.
All in all, I like this, but I am curious how I feel in a month or so, I am afraid the grind will end too soon. On the other hand, the PvP seems to be a lot more fun than last time.

There's a difference between a loot pinata and this.
This is more like a "participation trophy" case. Or a "Awesome by Association" Trophy case.
Whatever... I'll benefit from it I'm sure

Everyone doing public events or crucible contributes back to the clan. So it actually is a symbiosis. Even though others might put in more work.

Public events are a different kettle of fish all together, as they are so easy to achieve and so easy to do. They're supposed to be common... they're supposed to be for everyone. Raids... not so much (though, are they guided?) My point is this: If you are wearing high end raid gear... it should be because you completed the raid... not because someone else did and you got lucky and had infuelsion gear to pump it up. Ditto for Trials gear... It shows that you know what you are doing for a particular activity and you were rewarded for it, rather than someone else doing it.

While I can see your point, I don't quite agree. In 2 weeks the wow factor of the raid will be gone. Everyone will own that stuff either way. Raid gear has never been hard to come by.
Curious about trials gear though, as lighthouse gear has always been the Pinnacle of gear in my eyes (If lighthouse is even still a thing). But since you unlock the clan reward package at 7 wins, I don't think it will be lighthouse gear but just normal trials gear (again, if lighthouse is even a thing).

Ditto for Trials gear... It shows that you know what you are doing for a particular activity and you were rewarded for it, rather than someone else doing it. I imagine this policy is part of Bungie's big plan to encourage people to play with each other and this has been steadily the factor in deciding the game design ever since Destiny 1. I guess Bungie are hoping that players who get raid and Trials drops from the engram, who are not otherwise participating in these activities, are then encouraged to do so as they want more of it. The issue would be where players are freeloading from clans who have no intention of participation. While I do believe people should only be able to acquire gear for activities where they know what they are doing, that hasn't always been the case in Destiny 1's lifespan. There are probably plenty of players with loot that barely deserve it from Destiny 1 activities. When the Age of Triumph update was released I was hoping the Templar challenge would use the no cleanse feature without burning him down so he had to teleport but I could see the complaints coming from people who can't complete it. Reminds me of a time when I used the100.io to play Trials and this kid I played with was pretty frustrated as to why it was so hard to earn Trials gear. This was during the House of Wolves era when the gear was probably the best.

They seemed pretty happy to have us, anyway.

I'll benefit from it I'm sure I'm not sure it is even that for at least the trials gear... For my package I got a sidearm shell at 10 Light level lol. It seems like the weekly clan nightfall and crucible engrams actually give you BETTER rewards if you are looking to level up... and anyone can complete those for the team. For those not concerned with leveling up and just rounding our their collection... the trials package is a boon I guess.

Because if they're supposed to be available now, we're not getting them PS4 side.
