HAH! Not likely. Played all three classes up to level 8 in beta and bothered to hunt down all the golden chests on all of them, (except I ran out of time to finish the strike on my third character because the server died). Not that it took a lot of playtime to do all that, but I gave it what time I had and still wanted more. Don't think I'll get bored anytime soon.
But... I do expect I'll play more TF when the next maps come out as well. I didn't get the season pass for nothing.

I'm not getting the game, so my beta stats are dead and buried like a corpse. Why aren't you getting Destiny? Just curious to know.

I will let pegasus speak for himself, I just want to comment on that: while many players on my friends list are playing Destiny night and day, there are also significant numbers of players who have no interest in it at all. Many of them strongly prefer military style FPS and dont like sci-fi based stuff.
I see Destiny most attractive to 2 groups of people: Halo fans and Borderlands fans. It is a well polished game, but not for everyone.

I don't like 30 fps for a multiplayer shooter, the alpha and beta builds didn't do much for me, and from everything I read the game is more of the same. Bland missions, non-existent/irrelevant story, sluggish PvP. While the world-building stuff seems fairly in-depth... it also just seems.. lame. The traveler is lame. The races they came up with are lame. The speeder bikes you can pull out of your pocket are lame. Peter Dinklage mumbling about wizards is lame. It feels like they're going for fantasy ancient-evil kind of sci-fi, which to me is one of the least interesting settings possible.
Aesthetically it feels a lot like Mass Effect... but... lamer. And I still have half of ME3 to go through, so I may as well play that instead. If I want a shooter type game with interesting quests, storyline, and exploration, I should clear Fallout: New Vegas from my backlog finally. If I want competitive multiplayer, Titanfall is so far ahead of the tedious 'Crucible' there is no point in playing Destiny. COD: Advanced Warfare is right around the corner as well. Halo MC is right around the corner with more PvP content, 60fps, and perhaps most importantly no MMO-lite bullshit.
The gameplay from the beta was just so tedious. You pop out from cover to shoot at waves of idiotic AI until you're at half health, then pop back into cover for 5 seconds to get your health back. Repeat until waves of enemies stop. Then repeat for boss. If someone screws up this sequence at any point, and they will, not because it's hard, but because it's just so boring that players become careless to break the monotony, they'll get downed and have to wait for a respawn. At this point you get to tell your teammates to stop popping out from cover so that you all don't accidentally get killed at the same time and have to go back to a checkpoint. Just sit there and wait for your teammate to respawn. And then back to the health regen cycle.
Now you may say to yourself, "Well that's not really different from COD single-player gameplay" and you'd be absolutely correct. But at least COD dresses it up with lots of set-pieces, some sequences to break up the monotony (chopper gunner, AC130 gunner, "now you're riley the dog for some reason get him boy", etc) and cut-scenes. Even so COD isn't what I'd consider an amazing single-player experience. It's just better than Destiny questing.
What I actually want from a single-player FPS experience, is some kind of tactical element and/or emergent gameplay. The early Rainbow 6 games come to mind. Early Ghost Recon and especially GR: Advanced Warfare come to mind. Where I have an objective, a large area to navigate as I see fit, and tools to do the job in multiple interesting ways. Maybe another more modern example would be Dishonored, though that has more RPG elements and isn't strictly a shooter.
What does Destiny really have over any other game? As best as I can tell, the only good thing about it is that it currently has a high player count. But, I don't feel compelled to play a game just because it shows up a bunch on my friends list. I'll wait for a game that I might actually enjoy instead.

Sniper Elite 3 might be more up your alley. Not that I've played it, but from what I've seen of it the game has open maps with multiple objectives for you to tackle however you see fit.

Witty. I have my reservations and all, but ultimately the only way to truly get a feel for a game is to play it. I hope to pick up Destiny next week. I have had just no time to do so this week with corporate tax filing extensions. Maybe you can show me around a bit once i get going.
I'll be gone most of this weekend (at least until Sunday night) Aroc is running the clan wars stuff on Saturday.
btw...Aroc is pulling a group together for Destiny too. You should talk to him.

Saggy, Mal, Aroc and I had a brief conversation on clan's forum. Aroc created HSV1 clan on Bungie.net and 4 of us have joined. If you are getting the game, you should join too. While bros here are very enthusiastic about PvE, Aroc & Mal are avid Halo players so I think that they'll enjoy PvP besides PvE. We can get together and play PvP as an alternative to CoD from time to time.

Most definitely. I am also going to really push some Halo group play within the group too this fall.
Right now, this transition stuff (old to new) is just making things kind of hard.
