Ran about 8 lexington's, some runs went very well (a couple of 9 minute runs) and one that was absolutely GOD Foxtroting awful: 25 minutes, with 3 snipers who couldn't snipe (UGGGGGGGH) and just when I hear: "ain't this some $hit", the game crashed on me) but all in all, some decent stuff. I was muted, but a couple of them were very appreciative of my lunchboxing... one group was 2 nomads whhen I just threw my lunchbox at barrett, and let them showstopper her to death within 5 seconds
Got about 3 or 4 classifieds, all from the superior caches, and a Tommy Gun exotic.
No reclaimer classified, but one or two dead eyes and a lonestars... I have a bad feeling reclaimer classified aren't in the mix

I got to 10k then found that was the max I could save, so I spent 2 and used up my rng by getting a classified from a regular joe schmuck package instead of the ge ones. The 2 ge that I bought were dupes. And not classified. And not good.
Btw, if I have a piece of regular gear, and a piece of that same gear, but classified... there’s no point keeping the regular, right?
Edit: I’m doing a bit of a stashe purge; i realized I had 10 d3fnc chrst pieces ... and 14 banshee gloves. A bit of a problem....

Trash the regular one as soon as you have a classified alternative imho. The base stats are significantly higher on classified gear, even if the rolls aren’t perfect. I’ve been finally making space in my stash after juggling space for weeks.

I've backed into a 4 pc. Final Measure set with great rolls, gonna grind and try to finish it up ,as well as get the last piece of DeadEye I need. I really need more loadout slots, probably too much to ask for at this point.

How they score gear (or explain it) and a complete lack of bullet penetration through the environment during combat... are two of the games biggest weaknesses imho

Bullet penetration in a cover based shooter may be problematic. I'm not sure the game can explain every nuance and synergy of the gear and weapons without bogging it down. Games this complex require extra info sources. This is way more like Diablo than Destiny.
I'll help you in any way possible,just ask. Step One, don't keep 13 of the same gloves:)

I have four characters to try and get around this and they were initially based on how much I have played them. I tend to organise the gear sets by either how much they overlap with equipment used, like my second character who is primarily a sniper (Hunter's Faith, Sentry's Call, DeadEye), my third character is a skill build character (when I complete my cassified Reclaimer set that will be transferred from my main), or by placing the most used/sought after builds on my main character, and the fourth is basically a mule keeping hold of the classified gear sets that I won't be using in the near future.

So - I missed out on a mask by 18 (107/125) 'group' headshots on critical outbreaks. #
I got a full classified deadeye and lonestar set.
I got a bunch of legendary/exotic/orange/whatever
2 heals 1 Urban MDR 1 Bullfrog 1 showstopper 1 'pistol that matches with the liberator' 1 pistol that looks the same but doesn't match anything as the above. 1 elir 2 medr 1 alejandro
Question: As it takes a while to fully spec out a set - should I do lone star or Deadeye first?
I'm thinking lonestar as I have a cool LMG and Shottie in the above loot.

Big AL + Showstopper is great with Lone Star. If you grabbed the M700 Carbon on sale recently you have a great start for Deadeye, your two Heels may be good, too. I run Lone Star @ 6500FA, 4500 STAM and 4000 ELE, lunchbox+ pulse. Deadeye at about 8K FA, make every shot count.
I ended up with a full Final Measure set, totally unexpected. I trashed those pieces last time. Got a great LWM4 God-rolled for skill builds, Competent, Talented, Determined. 2 optimizations to max damage. Also God-roll Inventive pack, optimized once to max armor, skill, and ammo. Exotics less exciting, a good Bullfrog and Barretts' chest, the rest junk.

As I'm sure many did, I farmed the $hit out of Lexington... Got to 10k, bought 2 crates, farmed to 10k, bought 2 crates, farmed back to 10k,
Got a lot of classified but not a full set of classified; I literally opened 3 crates and got 3 Dead eye holsters... f$$k you RNJebuz: go back to fucking Destiny 1.
But all that matters is the next event and dat reclaimer set. Plus with a few other changes, I will probably be able to get to 9k electronics
Had some really good pugs too; got some thank you messages from people for making their shotgun kills easier, as my 202 round LMG would supress the baddies, the baddies would hide and my pug would run up and shotstopper them to death.
But the highlight of my weekend: I got a pug that I ran with for 3 times in a row, to do jumping jacks during each "negative ramos" phase... just the 4 of us, in lunchbox range, with 2 flame turrets toasting baddies, while us Divison Agents are working on our calisthenics and fitness.
Noob question: what does the optimization station do? Is it worth optimizing my gear or should I wait?

I understand the concept of the firearms, stamina, and electronic stat... and what they do and how for certain builds, you want them to be as high as possible for certain setups, and you want mods to mod them to make them what you want and all that and blah blah blah.... What I haven't paid attention to, and ultimately thought that maybe I should care about, are the Primary DPS, toughness, and skill power.
I get the obviousness of them: DPS makes you kill stuff quicker, toughness makes you harder to kill, and skill power makes your skills more powerful. But how do I make them better? and ultimately, should I care that much about them?
Hypothetical example: I have a 2 pieces of gear: 1) one that makes my skill power go up, but the electronics score and skills are crap... and 2) one that makes my skill power go down, but the electronics and skills are great/god roll
Which do I keep? Do I keep #1 and reroll the fuck out it, hoping for a better roll.... or deal with #2 and keep the godroll stats/#'s?
I have a feeling this is all related to the gear score stat, but again... I dunno.

Optimization is where you spend Division Tech to incrementally increase all of the stats on a gun or gear, even ones you're unable to roll otherwise. Dtech is slow to come by, so it is best to only optimize your best stuff,
DPS is a calculation on your weapon, using base damage, rof and every attachment. It is a loose guide, but by no means the final word on a weapons' effectiveness.
Toughness is a calculation of your stamina and health, plus regen. It is ameasure of your squishiness.

Your Firearms number, plus base damage of your weapon, determine how hard you hit. DPS factors in reload speed, rate of fire, headshot damage, etc.
Skill power goes up with your Electronics number, and can be enhanced with certain gear piece rolls and mods.

You will probably need to dig up some of Marco's stuff to find out the exact values relating to toughness with stamina, skillpower with electronics and DPS to firearms. The graph curves and some soft caps have changed quite a few times since I've been playing so I stopped bothering to find out the precise values etc. Also, some gun talents are transferred to your skills etc. For the Reclaimer build you should probably invest in around 7,000 electronics and find mods with skill haste on.

And ultimately, should I care about it? You can make one number on any piece go up by rerolling it, two if it is classified. You have to decide what you want from that piece before doing this. DPS- worry about your FA #, DPS is base damage+mods factored by FA. To raise DPS, use a more powerful weapon and raise your FA#, that is the # 1100-1272 that is in the Firearms category. This is something you want higher to do more damage, quickly. Toughness- your health # factored by your Stamina#. This can be found under the character tab. To raise this, increase your stamina by using gear rolled to that stat, it is the second one after Firearms, in the Stamina category. You can also roll health on some gear pieces. This is something you want higher to take more damage. Skillpower- this is increased by your Electronics#, this is in the third slot on a gear piece. Skillpower can also be rolled on some gear pieces. This is something you want higher for your skills(pulse, lunchbox, turret, seekers, etc.) to be more powerful. Quite obviously all of these are important, some more than others depending on the build. The gear score# let's you know the general worth of a piece, but look at every stat to see the whole picture. You should care, if you want to get better and more powerful stuff. I think you may be narrowly focused on the one #, because that's kinda how Destiny worked.

Roll weapons with skill talents, you can get to about 4000 FA. Skill haste can be rolled on gear, too. For this build I would get to at least 40% haste.
