That was............
I don't know what that was, but the adjectives so far I'm coming up with, aren't positive.
Lame?

Exactly, that is not the way this fight is intended to take place for sure. I have a feeling this won't make it past the next patch.

Stuff like that is fine. I remember people coming up with that for the templar boss in the very first week. It probably won't get patched simply because this is the way all enemies behave... as in (as far as i know) all ground enemies have this weakness. You can even push wizards off of edges as they don't fly...they hover.

Kinda reminds me of Everquest 2, playing the coercer class. There was one ability which led you "control" an enemy so you could let it walk over the edge of a cliff, cancel the ability and it would take fall damage.
Surprised that (what is shown in the video) is still possible in todays time as similar things have happened in so many other games and should be either "working as intended" or never make it into the live game.

Well when you have effect that "increase knockback" like the warlock's force palm... I'm inclined to see these things as intended. Knockback is also a function of impact. This is why you can consistently knock goblins off of walkways with the right weapons during the Raid.

Well that may as well be, yet I don't think whoever created the raid really thought that to be a viable option and therefor didn't account for it. Back in EQ2, mobs would us power and a class was doing damage based on percentage = since raid/ boss mobs usually have significantly more health, you could do over a million damage (normal was maybe around 10k at that time). It's a similar thing if you should be able as titan to bubble yourself while standing inside the mob and take advantage of it. Raid Encounter usually are created in a way that most control options aren't applicable as it makes the encounter a walk in the park. I wouldn't be surprised to see "immun to knockback" for this kind of mob at some point in the future. Until then... it's not an exploit.

'Vault of Glass', supposed to be the height of planning and preparation, and someone pushes the big bad boss off the ledge in under two minutes lol.

I don't have a problem with players pushing mobs. It's clearly intended that you be able to push them around and even off things. If Bungie doesn't want that to be possible for a given encounter they need to create an environment or a boss that makes it prohibitively difficult if not impossible. I don't think it's the intended way to beat this boss, but I wouldn't call it an exploit because it clearly is an intended mechanic in the game. If it's a problem Bungie should alter the encounter in some way, perhaps make that particular boss harder to push or give him the ability to get away from the edge somehow or any number of things.
The boss just standing there doing nothing while they go at it for a while which lets them setup the whole thing, that's a glitch that should definitely be taken care of. Looked like part of it was stuck on the geometry and the AI just went dead, or is that something this boss does? *shrug*

He does stand there like that when the 3 people @ the back of the room get teleported.
Honestly, it never even occurred to me to go past the portals at the back of the room because with how much damage he does per shot I didn't think getting that close to him was even an option as I am usually scared for my life and cowering behind what little cover is given, running from kamikaze super ultra harpies on cocaine.

It's a fusion rifle?
shaddupyaface... it fires like a scout rifle....
Am I wrong? Or is that why it's so popular/people think it's the best pony?

Yes, fusion rifle primary weapon only awarded as a random drop from Vault of Glass on hard mode. Massively OP in PvP.

By "firing full auto" does that mean that there's no annoying wait for it to fire?
EDIT: like that annoying buzz before you actually fire... it doesn't have that? Because really, it's like a scout rifle.

you hold down the trigger and it fires as fast as it can. Full Auto.

Yes, you hold trigger and it fires the same way an assault rifle would.
(this is different from the Pocket Infinity, which when full auto has the normal delay for the initial burst, but if you continue to hold the trigger will fire subsequent bursts with almost no delay)

Actually, it fires full auto. haha burst rounds wouldn't be OP enough....it had to be full auto, considering that it's a fusion rifle as primary = more ammo.

I'm not saying it's not cheap... just not as lameass cheap as the first video was. It's like sumo wrestling; instead of knocking the sumo off their feet and on to their butt, a legit strategy is to push them out of the ring (if I remember correctly) Is it more "satisfying" or "better" or "less cheap" or "worth it" to do it a different way? Perhaps. But if it's cheap for the Boss to cause an explosion that causes me to fall off a ledge and die... turnabout should be fair play. All I'm saying is that with the first video, my reaction was "lame"... watching the second, my reaction was "lucky them"

I'm not judging people who do it. I would do it in a heartbeat. Why spend 30 minutes doing something when one can spend a minute.
What I meant is that, it has to be frustrating to people who spend god awful amounts of time doing great work planning out stuff, finding out tactics, strategies to do all these things....and then some schmoe comes up and knocks it off in a minute.

These tricks almost always get patched out. Though, in some instances (like the Templar phases) I believe they've left certain things in play (floating islands) to expand the number of viable tactics.

Oh, for sure! You'd think the video game testers would have hardened shins from kicking themselves. But it'll get patched... he'll magically develop flying or teleporting powers in time for me to do the raid and get my tochas kicked

It is common to make bosses immune to certain things (knock back, stun etc.).

What would be a hilarious fix is if you managed to knock him off the edge he would teleport himself and the last person that hit him and swap places with you so that you fall off instead of him. ;3
