I am surprised that you did not know this, otherwise I would have mentioned it to you a long time ago. I had a brief word in my "level guide" post, the guy is called "Xur, The Agent of Nine". He shows up every weekend for 3 days and sell stuff. I meant more like, when is he coming around. I am driving out of town now, trying to arrange my brother in law to come to my house to do this for me

He's always there for the duration of the 3 days?
Is that what you mean?

Where is Xur? I stopped home, got on destiny, he wasn't by the speaker. Any help ? He's down by past the crucible vendors, to the right of the 3 vanguard masters, but on the level above. Go to the warlock vangaurd master, turn right, see a hooded guy, and jump to him No...that's where he was last week. Location changes weekly. This week he's in the section with the speaker. This will lead you right to him: planetdestiny.com/wheres-xur-2/

For future reference of how to locate this elusive guy: @datto's YouTube channel has a video each week about him, just watch that will give you clear idea of where to find him and what he is selling. (Note: This week's video is not up yet. I am sure that there are other YouTube videos.) If you prefer text, just visit www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/ on Friday and check out the top posts.

Seriously. Buy it. Probably the best exotic in the game for two reasons. Infinite ammo Utility for bosses (something the invective...the other comparison point... doesn't have) I can't overstate how important the infinite ammo part is. It removes the need for special ammo synthesis. This is especially important on Raid Hard mode where the death penalty removes special and heavy ammo. "but yeah Dumbien... that's only if I wanna use the icebreaker... I don't even like snipers" Guess what? You can regenerate ammo with the icebreaker then switch weapons to the gun you really want to use and it will have regenerated ammo too! I can switch between my icebreaker, patience and time, and praetyth's revenge for the complete trifecta of elemental damage. I can switch to my plan-C for CQC dominance (with 18 ammo upon refresh). I bought 2. Thinking about buying 3. BUY IT NOW. if you don't already have it.I got the Ice Breaker maybe two weeks into the game out of a Legendary Engram, and I've used it heavily ever since. I can pretty much second everything Dumien said here. In my opinion, it'd the most useful and impactful weapon in the game. I'm not sure we'd have three Hard Mode VoG runs under our belt PS4-side if not for two of us carrying this weapon. As good as you think the Vex Mythoclast is at PvP, the Ice Breaker is a magnitude better than that at PvE. It's that strong. I don't have it, but you and Vindictive having it was amazing. So many times just sitting there while I waited for one or both of you to clear the enemies with Icebreakers. Once I do the weekly I should have enough strange coins to purchase for myself. Dumien: How much ammo will it regen for when you swap weapons? If you have an armor upgrade that allows you to carry more special weapon ammo, will that increase the amount of ammo it regens?

For my Patience and Time it regens 2 mags of 6 @ 12 bullets. That is double the capacity of the Icebreaker.
For my plan-C it regens an odd amount @ 18 shots (mag size is 5). That is triple the capacity of the Icebreaker.
I do have a few armor pieces that upgrade my special ammo capacity... Armamentarium...raid stuff. Might be worth testing it out.
Btw the Armamentarium is glitched currently...i think. I should have a MUCH higher heavy ammo capacity, but it doesn't increase above 7 for me.

I have gone through the Weekly Mission solo for 6 Strange Coins and the Ice Breaker is great. Wondering if it is worth getting a third because I really don't want to miss out on something next week like the Patience and Time.

Just curious: why would you want multiple of this? Unless you are blessed with too many strange coins to buy things with, wouldn't it be OK to just share 1 through vault? Any reasons beyond saving 2 extra trips to Tower when you switch characters?

For the day you dismantle something by accident.
In case they implement trading in the future.

Glad you got it 5K. In case they implement trading in the future. Yup. You never know who might pick up the game late. Starting from behind can suck unless you have an OP weapon. Also I keep some weapons for convenience purposes (this one might fill that role). Tower trips can take excruciatingly long (even with a good connection)...especially when people are waiting on you. For example, each of my characters have a vision of confluence. It is just such a fantastic weapon in PvE. I understand that is a pretty frivolous reason.

I knew my hoarding of Strange Coins would come in handy. I have 23 of them.
Excellent...
BTW, does anyone know what the Xur armor piece for the Titan is this week and how much it costs?

Helm of inmost light, 13 coins. Thanks. I worked out that if I can complete the weekly nightfall, I can get both the helmet and the Icebreaker (I just got another coin from an engram I had.) Not sure if it's worth it though, I think I liked the other helmet from last week more. Might try for an exotic engram this weekend, I only need 3 more Motes of Light for one. (Question: is there any real use for Motes of Light other than to buy exotic engrams?)

I believe the only other use for Motes is to buy sharers and emblems from the Speaker. So the exotic Ingram is the only useful choice, the rest are superficial.

I've seen a few people on Strike missions completing the Invection Bounty request wearing Hunter cloaks bought from The Speaker. They are really nice looking but, if you are working towards a faction for rep and marks, you will not be able to wear these. I'd probably buy the wolf cloak because I might end up having replica exotic helmets soon and, although you can redeem them for Ascendant Shards, I can get these with public events and the Daily Story Missions anyway. Either that or just save up Motes of Light in case the cloaks become cheaper, which might happen if Bungie thinks too few people have them.

Here's a vid I made quickly soloing Nightfall with this beast of a weapon. I've done this Venus map/challenge solo, but only on the Weekly Strike on level 26 solo. Kind of doing almost exactly what you did. Except for the very end where you went underneath the platform to knock out the Archon Priest end boss. Question. Can you take him out doing the two story landing safespot in the far corner, (the higher up ledge where the enemies won't go). I used that for the Level 26. But obviously, its measurable harder doing it on the Nightfall setting.

I actually don't know. This was the only safe spot I knew about. On Nightfall even the dregs are scary since every single burn is on this week.

Thebb22 and I cheesed it by running back up to the ledge where you first drop into the boss area at any sign of danger, with one of us always hanging out back there in case the other got downed unexpectedly. The boss eventually positioned himself in a spot where we could drop down and headshot him over the top of a rock, but he would shoot into the rock. Mostly just had to worry about adds then. Snipers and stealth vandals were the biggest problem. I expected something to spawn in behind us like what happens with the Sekrion/Nexus strike, but nothing ever happened so we hung out there and took our time. I'd imagine that would work fine for a solo run also.

Jump down, shoot over the rock, blast away, run back up and recharge my weapon. But it wasn't the nightfall mode though. It was kind of lame all in all.

Yup. Unfortunately all of the Heroic/Nightfall strikes I've done have been kind of lame in that way. For Heroics you can usually get away with running around like morons knowing that at worst you lose 5 minutes of progress, but for Nightfalls the penalty for getting wiped is so severe that there's just no incentive not to cheese it if you can. I haven't ran this week's (Sepiks Prime) on any of the harder difficulties yet because I wasn't able to reach a high enough level on launch week, but I don't know of any good cheese spots for this one. I'm curious too if the modifiers are same as they were on launch week or if they've changed them up. It seemed like Arc Burn made the 1st section (3x wave defense) tough because it's so easy to get overwhelmed with all the dregs and vandals running around, plus there are a couple vandal snipers taking potshots at you constantly. Everything after that stage looked pretty easy.

The ledge as you drop down into the area to kill off the vex and fallen and then the boss? If so, you wouldn't have done that on Nightfall because I tried it. Sooner or later Aksor seemingly does not flinch, teleports properly, and kills you in one melee attack.

I have no idea what went wrong on your run, wings, but it we did it that way on both heroic and nightfall last Tuesday. Then I did it the same way again solo last night on heroic with my warlock since I finally got him up to level 21.
