If we try a VoG-Hard at 8pmET slot (I could go earlier if needed, I can be ready at 7pmET)....I think post is the only level 30. Is that about right? (I am lv 29). Based on your talk in the other thread heb, we would need at least 3 lv30's? Yeah, definitely sounds like 2 more 30s would be best. Dumien, you got any heavy hitters you can bring in to help us out and/or carry us lowly 29s through? Just don't bring that neurotic d-bag who kicked me from the Hard VoG run last week. I'll never do anything with that idiot again.

Curious on the story there as well, and also the GT of whoever it was so I can make a note to avoid them. We actually had a bit of an incident Monday night when someone went AFK, with one person (can't remember the GT) blowing up on the AFKer because we wiped. Luckily things ended up fine, but in general as far as I'm concerned, anyone who acts like that after a wipe/emergency AFK/whatever can fuck right the hell off and then enjoy trying to raid by themselves, because that kind of behavior isn't something I'm prepared to tolerate.

Schedule update on my end: I will be able to play tonight, but may or may not be able to play tomorrow. If I can't, well, probably not a bad thing for you guys since you don't have to carry me For tonight, I am more interested in getting more coins from weekly than Raid, don't want to miss the potentially good stuff from Xur. Anybody has still yet to play "Summoning Pit" weekly? My solo attempt of 25 Warlock vs. 22 AIs last night was not nearly a walk in the park experience as I expected, took the optimism out of me on beating this solo, especially under leveled.

Not a big deal. I was kicked by some guy named 'KPG MrCroft'. I think because I didn't 'wipe' fast enough in the Gorgon maze while doing the Hard mode. The group I was with had two people I knew (Aroc, Dumien) and three guys I never met before. 'KPGMrKroft' was one of them. We were having issues in the Gorgon Maze, couple of screw ups, and a few people (one's I didn't know) were getting angry, making things confusing as to who is calling the shots. On one of the attempts, part of the group died somehow, maybe an intentional wipe at the start.... but two of us were still alive. We kept going another 20 seconds or so, and MrKroft was screaming for us to 'wipe'. We finally did, but I guess ten seconds to late for his liking. I will admit to being a bit confused, as the plan was murky at the time. But ten seconds? He got all inflamed, and kicked me from the party. I got shafted on my first raid attempt. They finished. I got nothing. I was told he's not on this board. If he is now, I have no problems with him reading this. He talks and sounds like some piece of ghetto trash and his knowledge of the game seemed a bit suspect (he's level 30) He was losing his cool a bit, and seemed clueless at that point.

To be fair I invited you right back in. You wouldn't even message me for about a day. Aroc and I wanted to help you finish. Croft, Aroc, and I weren't getting anything out of that raid...I personally called Croft to help you guys. Croft was also being called to help his other friends with their Diablo raids (or whatever they are called there)...so he was a bit uptight. We were just trying to finish as fast as possible. He kicked you to orbit to expediate the process...note we usually all go to orbit to make this go as fast as possible. I talked to him during and after the raid to let him know that kind of behavior wasn't acceptable. We tried getting you back in... we had a great rest of the raid.

Was that in a raid with me? Edit: Nvm I remember who that was. That was D3VilGood and the AFKer was Speedy. Speedy had some home issues to deal with. D3vil was never in the clan...and we haven't played with him since. Speedy is a bro.

You were very nice Dumien and I appreciated all your efforts to help mediate it. I went to take my dogs out after it happened, and then went to play Crucible i think. XB1's messenging is difficult, I saw an invite come back from you and aroc later....but i missed it. And honestly, there's no Destiny reward that's worth the hassle of playing with losers like him. I didn't want to rejoin and play with that guy. What if I got right at the end, and he did it again? That would have burned me up even more. I got right back to you the next day, the next time I signed back in. You have nothing to feel back about. If anything, he was acting like a d1ckhead to you too I thought.

Was that in a raid with me? Yeah it was. Now that my companion app is working again I can see that it must have been either Bishop or Ninoz. Like I said, it ended up not being a big deal once the AFker (Beavenge, I think) made it back and we cleared the rest of the raid easily with no more issues. I just thought that reaction was excessive given it was the first time anything really went wrong all night other than a couple gorgon's maze wipes.

Yeah all those disconnects were a pain in the ass, that's for sure. Maybe Bungie will work on fixing that instead of "fixing" the Atheon fight -- wishful thinking I'm sure.

Seems to me that they have been working on network improvements since launch. Every weekly update has some mentioning of network related fixes. Just curious: do we know when this Atheon fix is coming out?

I never ceases to amaze me how a silly video game stress is capable of turning people into azzholes. I saw it happen in CoD Clan Wars last spring....and now I've seen it twice in this raiding stuff.

Maybe it's just me, but I am finding any stress (gaming stress) in VoG stuff to be 1/100th the stress of having like eight people not show up on time for a scheduled Clan Wars start, and then having to deal with those very same people...when they get upset because they were booted.

If it was when I was trying to get the party chat to work, then that was probably me lol I swear I was still killing things, chat just got a bit lonely... then we wiped and when we spawned I tried leaving and rejoining party chat while someone was affectionately shooting me in the face. Harder to do when party chat is invite only, though it's pretty much essential for raiding. this was all after some ass named Beavenge went through the gate 2x though, so yeah... I also got DC'd at the Templar fight, and had to do a complete relog to Destiny and it decided I was more suitable as spawning dead in the tunnels above the Templar zone. Also another efficacious moment, if that was what you were referring to ha... ha... But yes, once we all were connected and communicating things went ALOT smoother.

Freshly updated list:
Approximately 8:00 EST / 5:00 PST -- Hard/Normal TBD -- Weekly Strike if not filled? 1. StoneColdLoad (iw5000) 2. HebbNH 3. THebb22 4. Post IXI Mortem (Dumien) OR Open 5. Open 6. Open
Approximately 10:00 EST / 7:00 PST -- Normal 1. StoneColdLoad (iw5000) 2. HebbNH 3. THebb22 4. Beavenge 5. WittyScorpion72 OR Open 6. Post IXI Mortem (Dumien) OR Open
"After the 10:00 EST / 7:00 PST group gets done or has to quit" -- Hard/Normal TBD -- Weekly Strike if not filled? 1. Beavenge 2. Mal Gato 3. WittyScorpion72 OR Open 4. StoneColdLoad (iw5000 - time permitting) OR Open 5. Post IXI Mortem (Dumien) OR Open 6. Open
Looking like we may have trouble filling the early and late slots, but the middle group should be able to go. I still need to run the weekly Heroic at 28 with my Hunter, and the Heroic at 26/28 and Nightfall with my Warlock if anyone else needs to do those, maybe in place of the early raid slot if we can't fill it.

I need to do two Nightfall runs if the raid doesnt work out. If I can play this evening, and the raid plan did not work out for us, I'll help you with the Nightfall. Dumien and PK Bishop carried me through Nightfall on my lvl27 Hunter (and I am pretty much useless throughout the entire run ), got the XP/Rep boost, I then grinded the character to level 28. I am now eager to try Nightfall for real, even though I won't get any loot. I still have regular weekly open for all 3 of my characters (28 hunter still yet to do 28 weekly, 26 Titan still yet to do 26 & 28 weekly, and 25 Warlock still yet to do 26 & 28 weekly), chances for 12 more coins. So If anybody needs to run that on either 26 or 28, ping me.

I'll prolly drop into PS4 chat this weekend and see if anybody wants to do some heroic or other stuff, or some Crucible with a level 23-24 Warlock. I've just been soloing to get my rep up lately. Or if anybody feels like grinding out the story missions for the lulz, I still feel like I should do that and it would be more interesting than solo, though I don't want to speedrun them so no worries if nobody wants to slum with me. ;p I want to eek out what little story there is. ;3

I have a level 26 Hunter with which I haven't even unlocked Venus yet. I should probably take care of that.

Great night
The above scheduling worked, I got in two VoG raids in a row with the above groups That was a lot of fun doing it that way, and also really helps dial in all the little nuances of the raid seeing it back to back. First run was also clocked at 62 min.

Yup, that worked out really well! Thanks everyone for showing up on time and sticking around fairly late to finish off that 2nd run.
Also, can we just go ahead and clear the Vault in an hour every time from now on? Cuz that would be lovely! I still can't believe how smoothly that run went!
Also also, I've got that hard mode Oracle phase checkpoint waiting for us. Would Sunday or Monday work for you guys? Always helps if I can schedule in advance -- easier to keep the wife happy that way!

In for Monday

Post by iw5000 on Oct 24, 2014 10:34:57 GMT -5
I would be in for Monday. I have a newly rebooted Warlock I made, that is level 9 right now. I plan on having her up at level 29 by Monday night. That would be awesome to slide that character in the hard mode. Or normal. Either is fine, as I just want to get one more VoG Loot run in by Tuesday.
I thought our time was pretty impressive, as I have heard the best times are in the 40 to 50 min range. We could have easily have been in the mid 50 min range, if we had not goofed around in the Gorgon maze, plus some other stuff. Btu then I looked up this online...
31:28..WTF?
01:00 - Actual Time ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 03:20 - 02:20 - pass through the first conflux stage door 13:20 - 10:00 - (Templar room) finished all three conflux phases (1, 2, & 3) 21:00 - 07:40 - (Templar room) finished the seven oracle waves 24:00 - 03:00 - (Templar room) finished the Templar 27:50 - 03:50 - Finish the Free-Fall, Gorgon's Maze, Ledges *(one of their guys died, added about 45 sec) 30:10 - 02:20 - Finished the two Gatekeepers and defend conflux 32:51 - 02:40 - Finished Atheon (two cycles)
