Well, that was a valiant, but failed effort. A little too much panic dying early, and then when we were finally starting to get the hang of things and get into a groove, we started getting weird slam glitches, where slams just weren't registering. Plus the Captain decided to go hide in the ceiling. WHERE IS wittyscorpion? making a real life Titan to do TF2 Cosplay? |

maximum dps is cool and all but you should focus on surviving til enrage. THEN you worry about increasing your DPS as a group.

I took off school and work but unfortunately things didn't go as planned and someone wasn't as committed to the cause as I was. Turns out you guys aren't the only ones with trouble getting everyone on at the same time. We ended up starting pretty late, but we did make good time in comparison to the top placers. The Vosiks fight is the most difficult part of the raid suddenly. Aksis is a cake walk for people that drilled in the strategies of normal mode. On my last run I died during the first DPS phase and the rest of my team proceeded to 5 man the final boss. I applauded. There was cheering.
I ended up getting all three of my runs. Two of my friends hit max light level (400) and I hit 395 on all of my characters. A successful day.
A few things to note: The sniper is amazing. Probably the best current sniper for PvE. The Raid LMG is also amazing. It seems to be in competition with the dark drinker for highest sustained DPS. The Pulse rifle one bursts shanks at LL394. That is huge.
It was fun.

Any chance you know what the crit damage vs Vosik or Aksis is with that sniper, and also, how big is the mag size when the "wait for it" perk procs? Datto had a video up comparing Devil's Dawn, Event Horizon, and Black Spindle for WotM DPS (Spindle was best, surprise surprise), and I'm curious to know where Ex Machina falls on that list. My assumptions and math say it'd be behind Spindle, but well ahead of the other two. |

The100'ing. Technically. Smooth until Aksis phase 2. Had a couple close calls but the warlock that didn't really know how to jump/slam properly kind of ruined them. Still no Outbreak Prime for Hebbs. Got some fancy raid gauntlets though, so not all was in vain.

Don't know if anybody else saw it yet, but Datto did a damage test on the IF MATERIA (raid LMG). It's actually pretty bad, losing in DPS significantly vs. Captain cannons, Dark Drinker, Raze Lighter, GHorn, Black Spindle, and Outbreak Prime. Decently rolled high impact or mid-high impact snipers are generally better for damage as well, or equal in damage at worst. I can't think of any reason to use IF MATERIA over any of those options.

Got in a before-reset hard mode raid with Jigga and company. Pretty easy-cheesy, 57 minutes. Kinda goofy to finish hard mode without actually finishing normal but it is what it is. Coincidentally the achievements that popped put me at EXACTLY 50,000 gamerscore.
