I pulled some data with regard to the raid to help the people interested in figuring out what percentage of the time drops occur. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/125I8ncResqakTWWyPkRwuYK9fdcqQeKg7I9XEhb7KfU/It contains 695 players that participated in the raid the night of 10/26. It shows: 1) Their stats from that raid 2) Their currently equipped items as of the evening of 10/28 3) Their total stats, including completions, for both the normal and hard mode raid, as of the evening of 10/28 I haven't had the chance to pore through it, but I hope it helps those who are interested.

So looking at that sheet.
695 players did the survey, and apparently they all did a combined 3,496 Raids (hard and normal) And in those raids, they got a combined 1,527 pieces of Raid/Exotic gear. That means a 0.43 pieces of gear per attempt. Seeing how many attempts give multiple piece drops, the odds of getting any piece of gear will be somewhat lower than that. Probably around 38% to 40%.
And if that does include the hard mode, then the gear drop number is going to be off a bit. The real normal % is inflated, and the Hard % is understated.

It's not a survey. It's data pulled from bungie.net.
It's also not all of the gear the player received, it's whatever the character had equipped when I pulled the data. It only reflects what was equipped. If a player got raid gear and doesn't have it equipped on the character, or received it more than once, it is not reflected.

Where are you guys seeing the number of armor drops in the raid? From what I'm seeing here, those last few columns showing the number of raid/exotic gear simply refers to the items that the person had equipped at the time of the raid. Every one of those numbers at the end correlates directly to what armor those people were shown as wearing at the time.

I have been shut out my last four or five raid runs. I have two more shots at the Normal raid this week. If I get shut out again, my days playing this game might be numbered.

Sorry, I should have made it more clear - I pulled the data myself. Those last columns with the number of raid/exotic gear I calculated manually based upon what they had equipped.
