You don't need to (and can't ?) drop glimmers at the vault. They are shared across all characters (Wouldn't that be nice if Marks are the same?)

You could purchase some items and transfer them, but if you then dismantle for glimmer you won't get nearly the investment back. You can transfer the glimmer boost items between characters, though. So if you're full on one just stick 'em in the vault and use on another alt. (I don't think you can split a stack once grouped together, though. So keep that in mind when using the vault. Also applies to resources.)
Personally I've taken to just keeping everything on my main at all times unless I specifically want to transfer it then I drop it to them via vault. On my secondary characters they always store any and all shards or materials (that aren't class specific) to consolidate them for upgrading my main but they keep glimmer boost items because I have no need to consolidate them.
Honestly I have several glimmer boost items just sitting there. I never use them because I so rarely feel I actually have a good moment like a big, long battle. I should start popping them for things like warsats, but not all events would be good for that.

What time do you two normally play? I'm suffering player creep. A lot are playing AW and those that aren't are (understandably) preferring 'hard' raids. There are three of us in DenK on eu time zones and we can never get the required 6 to raid on normal. I have two characters not yet ready for hard mode. It may not be possible due to the time differences but you never know. I'm not sure I want to hit up the bungie forums yet but if necessary ...... We only managed it at all thanks to TheHawkNY, Vindictive and Glavil suffering us early on.

I'm taking baby steps into raids... Right now, I'm just doing the weekly strikes with Manny.... I could try, but I literally would have no idea what I would be doing and would require extensive handholding, if not baby carrying.
As for time, I'm generally on 8-12 CST canada. But if we're all in the same clan, just shoot me a message and assuming it works out, I'll be up for anything.

I'd be more than happy to pass on the help. (Until the maze anyway.) After that we'd all be as bad as each other! Have no fear.

I'm generally on for a couple hours between 7 and 12 PM US Central time, once ever two or three days, except on weekends when I try to be on more, but usually fail. ;3
On the other hand. If an activity is scheduled ahead of time I'm probably more likely to be able to work around it.

Had a little time and got to the end of the weekly on level 28. Gonna try to finish it off tonight. (Hopefully I can start from the checkpoint.) Feel free to tag along. Prolly need arc more than void for the Fallen Captains at the end.

Where can you continue from a checkpoint once you are logged off? This nightfall/ weekly is probably one of the easier ones. In the stage where you have several spans of enemies, I usually go back to where you forst encounter enemies on that map (before the bridge) so nothing spawns behind me. After that it's just shooting from these speeders and shooting at the priest from further away.

So... what did Polo do this weekend?
Had tons of fun on Venus, with my level 16 void sniper rifle and 18 void machine gun that, while it only has 23 shots in the clip, shoots so slowly without much recoil, that you're pretty much guaranteed 15-20 headshots per clip.. which puts those yellow named Minotaurs down tootsuite.
Enjoying the Venus story line... but with one big question: if the Awoken are so mysterious and strange (as the game seems to imply) then why are they a choosable race when you make your guardian? Seems like they should be a race that you can make in destiny 2 or 3... when the Tower and the Reef kinda join forces. But that's just me.
Then for fun, Polo decided to go back to mars. My first experience there was with Mannon doing a strike. Last time I had trouble though because although I knew what to do, I had to go through a lot of ammo because my weapons didn't have the impact to do the job right. Thank god for the Shadow Price and to all of you who suggested I get it: its slow rate of fire + its high level of doom death and impact with my new sight was a godsend. It was so nice to pick all those centurions out of the air. Honestly, there were very few moments where I felt in danger, and in those times, it was because I did something dumb like jump into 6 Phalanxes just sitting there or there was a quick repop that caught me off guard. (Now watch: tonight, Immagonna get my a$$ kicked for writing that... dammit videogame karma)
The hardest part of mars for me, was finding the relic iron, especially in the outdoor situations. But then I noticed that most of my weapons don't need it, so unless I want to store it up, it's not something I have to grind up (unlike spirit bloom or filiments) The other hard part in Mars: the pulsing energy of the Cabal bases made it sound like no matter where I went, there were chests. It drove me nuts. I've sorta taught myself to stop and look around as soon as I hear that noise; on Mars, I look in a room for 3 minutes, only to realize it's the pulsing light on the wall. Annoying.

Yeah I had to redo most of it anyway because I got disconnected. I can run through most of it pretty easy and I'll manage to snipe down the waves. Marko you're welcome to join me even though it'll give them more health. Bring a void sniper for the waves so we can take down minotaur shields, then we'll switch to arc sniper or fusion rifles for the end. Might want to bring ammo, though I was able to do it with only getting free refills last night. You can stay on the cliffs while I go put Dinklebot to work and run my happy ass back to the cliff while they are spawning. ;3
I don't know why they don't just walk up that road. They never seen to figure out that they can get up there to you if they wanted to, but hey, works for me. I can cheese 'em.

We also had ammo problems due to the Juggler modifier which prevents ammo drops for the weapon you're currently using. It means not just having to switch, but less ammo in general because you don't get more for your other weapons to make up for it.

There's not all blue or purple, but I've been hording them now that i have a lot of weapons parts. Lemme know whatcha want; if you want to finish it without the mobs's boosted health that's fine. I'm exploring and just doing one patrol for the ascendant shard/energy and I'm screwing around the moon and the cosmodrome doing bounties and leveling up guns and sunslinger

I probably didn't know the exploit anyway. I was just going for it. I'm not a fan of cheesing unless I feel like I have no other way. For example on the mars mission with marko I jumped down into one of the boss cheese spots many times on accident, but I didn't stay in there. We had him, it just took us a good while. It would have taken even longer and been less fun from the cheese spot.

Hey! I was actually right: they did patch that spot pretty quick. And while I don't advocate for the cheese either... if I've wiped 5/6/7 times on the raid and am getting frustrated... I'd cheese it

It isn't clear to me - did they patch both cheese spots? High ledge entrance and under the platform?

I was told that they patched the "under the platform" one, but not the ledge. I am happy because latter is a much better cheese spot

We went for it on level 28. We picked up a salvage crews event but only got silver then headed in. We sniped our way through the three waves of Vex. Things got a bit hairy with the minotaurs, but the rest were just a slow ammo depleting grind. ;3 We also had a little trouble with the 3 minotaurs once you're on the cycles. They kept teleporting behind cover and rotating the front man so we couldn't get at the same one to drop it's shields. Eventually I got off my ride and used void rockets, void sniper, and grenades and we took out two and finished the third by hitting him with the vehicle guns from two directions so he couldn't hide. (I was out of ammo.)
I didn't look up cheese spots. Marko and I got there then slowly stalled out on the boss. Our first attempt we both quickly wiped from simply not knowing what to expect. Then we got chased back to the spot where you enter the area and tried to pick away at the boss by poking at him and jumping back up the cliff over and over. We made progress, but eventually he got more and more reinforcements and when the shielded captains came out it got much much harder. Those shields are TOUGH. It was getting late and we got a little desperate and wiped. We tried one last time to duke it out for reals, and I was actually surprised we were able to mostly hang in there pretty well. He kept going after Marko and I revived him a few times. And he returned the favor. Unfortunately with my super on cooldown we were taking cover close to each other and got hit by something AoE that took us both out. I think it was the servitor.
That was it for us. We had to call it a night.
I think we probably could manage it with a few changes. For one I would equip my best rocket launcher instead of an arc MG, and either save some heavy ammo or use a synthesis to put some rocket damage on that Ahole. Luckily the boss doesn't have a shield so any damage is permanent. He does have a huge amount of health, though. I'd also go sniper rifle instead of fusion rifle. The fusion rifle was handy vs the captains, and Marko had his sniper so I was using fusion rifle for closer quarters work, but sniper would be just as useful as long as I can get away from them. We would have to either cheese or fight it out in the open like we were towards the end. If we spread out one of us works as a distraction and the other maybe can snipe and we can res each other. But that's all mute since we'll have a new weekly tonight. I wanted those 9 coins too...

I won't lie to you Mannon... I had a hard time sleeping last night without those coins.
So annoying to get him down to the A and half a K in his name, and crap. Those captains had to be a "you're taking too long, so the game's gonna give you a littl' push to end it" I should used those ammo packs more instead of being so conservative. But I'm actually kinda proud that we didn't cheese out. While wiping and bailing sucked sucked, it woulda made victory that much sweeter.
It actually ended up being okay that I had to bail, because as soon as I turned off my machine for the night, my boy woke up/woke himself up and I had to rock him for 15 minutes.
