Honestly? I want to see how the APAC nations do, and how they do against the other major regions. Finding professional CS:GO teams in Asia is like finding an Xbox in Japan; if there's an FPS right now that can sweep the Eastern markets it'll be this one.

that made the QuickPlay lobbies so bad for both competitive and non-competitive players. I'm glad season 2 has started. i think i'll give it sometime before qualifying since all the hardcore players will hit that up in the next week.
How did everyone do in season one? I finished with a 60. Got a ton of those purple points.

Originally their intend was to start S2 at the 6th of September, so they probably got their heads out of their asses and realized that the competitive demograph loathes quickplay. A few days between seasons is reasonable, but 3 weeks is stupid
I ended up at 78, and all i got was this shitty gif. at least I can brag about my winston aiming skills

I guess they want people to take a break from the competitive aspect of the game, but it really just ends up with quickplay getting shitty matchmaking because of the mixed playerbase.
Some people really like the ruleset competitive has, and they've mentioned they might implement something with 1 hero limit that is not ranked play, but we'll have to wait and see what that'll be.

they won't, im running into the same people plenty of times while playing quick play as is. Splitting the quick play group again is just a mess
havent played comp yet (been doing quick play as a means of getting gut for now) but seems like the support hero pool is much more open this time around. Lucios still a must, but Ana, Zen Mercy seem to coexist nicely for now
Dps pool still seems pretty much the same; Soldier is unfortunately still ass and Genjis nerfed ass is still good in anything but super high level 6-man stack games. Guess you can expect some Hanzo now on payload maps primarily, and maybe Pharah will take off later (hue pun).
Tank pool sorta is the same as well, except Dva is kinda gone once again (needs some buff to pilot mode IMO). Mei, who sorta falls into the tank pool, is pretty decent now too albeit super map dependant. And gotta say Roadhog feels a lot better now. I think he has benefited from the projectile hitbox revert alot (both his shotgun blasts obv. arent hitscan) and once you get used to it, the new placement after hooking someone is much better
Now fkin buff Bastion and Tjorborn already and we might have a decent patch

Bastion and Torb need almost complete reworks rather than buffs.

nah thats not true
look at mei, shes picked plenty now after a small buff (well, projectile hitboxes is a buff too so make it 2). theres just not a lot of reason to pick soldier/bastion/torbjorn when mccree generally just does better all-round
to match mccrees output at the range soldiers supposed to be good at you'd have to burst perfectly, and even then I think Mccree just does straight up better raw deeps even past the distance his falloff starts to kick in. exact same issue with bastion, and you dont nearly get enough leverage out of sentry mode alone to ever pick him even torbjorn has potential, but right now his turret buildup got nerfed by like 75% compared to before which completely kills the hero if the turret goes down even once and even then, his theoretically solid gun is kind of moot because of that stupid low velocity
only hero that needs some reworking IMO is symmetra because that just feels like a bunch of leftover gameplay concepts thrown together. dont care if shes (ever so slightly) viable, shes just super awkward

Yes, Symmetra's ability to set up her array of turrets takes too long compared to Torb who can drop the only one he needs very quickly. As soon as an enemy team enters the area, Symmetra's ability to rebuild her defensive array is reduced to nigh-impossible. That's why her presence is only in key areas like the first point of Hollywood and then immediately swapped out once the enemy gets on top of it.
I think that she could be able to deploy sentries from a much greater distance, perhaps a fully charged Alternate shot will do its usual thing of passing through enemies, and then sets up a sentry at the point of impact with the environment. That sort of 1HP distraction that can hit the enemy from behind after they've moved up could give her the defensive support edge she needs, and the long charge time of the alt shots would be a limiter.
Or something.

I don't know they should buff 76 these days without reverting his spread nerfs.

I haven't seen a lot of pro Symmetras, but the one time I did she was posting up clusters of turrets and replacing them in a timely fashion as the enemy crept forward. She's only really there for the teleporter.
It would be nice if she gave out more shields- preferably proportional to a character's health pool. Twenty-five shields on a Tracer is laughable, and 25 on a tank moreso.
Soldier 76 has plenty of things on him that can change. My only problem is that Blizzard really seems to enjoy nerfing and buffing a few classes at a time to push whatever heroes they want in and out of the meta. I'm not seeing any contrasting hero synergies clashing against one another like I'd hope to expect, rather a set of staple heroes for each gametype. Then again, maybe I'm asking for too much.

Surefour (arguably the best player right now) says that he's seeing a lot of 3 tank + 3 healer teams (which seems nuts to me).
He says the top three DPS are Hanzo (!), McCree (still) and Tracer.

Sorry for the double-post, but here are the details on that 3 tank + 3 healer strategy:

With Zen and Ana though... I don't know. What is particularly great about the setup is that you still have some long range firepower in those two supports.

I really think bastion is underrated to be honest. The ability to switch to turret mode on attack can be really strong to make a push.

Did you guys see the finals recently? The winning team had FOUR tanks and two healers. They always played these five: - Ana - Lucio - Zarya - Roadhog - Reinhardt
and the 6th floated between Tracer, Hanzo, Pharah, Winston, McCree, Genji and.... Reaper?
so obviously this type of team requires high coordination. It's all about getting Ana's nano-boosts as fast as possible. Reindhart is the preferred target and it just totally blows through a defense. This PROBABLY won't work as well on consoles cuz aiming with Ana on console is horrible.
Now, that's the basic idea but here are the synergies that need to be abused: Zarya's ult is VERY important since it combo's brilliantly with Roadhog ultimate, Tracer ult, hanzo ult, reinhardt nano-boosted, pharah ult. Now the natural counter to this is for Zen to transcendance against Zarya ult (it's how I play Zen and i almost always cancel 2-3 ults with 1 transcendance). HOWEVER, Ana can throw her grenade in the middle of zarya ult to counter the healing and you're good to go.
this seems to be the top tier strategy if you can coordinate this with your group

ana's ult charges been nerfed: 20%, barely 4-5 extra shots so dunno if it has high impact, so I think as long as we dont have a proper tank buster we're stuck with the tank meta
also apparently theyre redoing controller input, with only the outer 10% rim of the joystick accelerating your turnrate rather than it being a linear increase from the center. should help with finessed aiming
anyhow im a battlerite player now
