Destiny: the late night adventures of Mal & Witty

Mal and I on the XONE side are mimicking polo & mannon to go on adventures as well . Both of us are west coasters that can better utilize the time post 10pm PT. We will see how good this LFG thing can take us.

Well, I got two more sets of Warlock gloves in the same drop. I now have 4 gloves and zero boots...

Also got dupes of Truth, 2 more Praedyth's Revenge, and a bunch of shards. I did get Titan boots, which I did not previously have.

I got 3 sets of Nightfall done, first solo completion with Hunter (Bladedancer invisibility + 1 shot P&T with Arc Burn = easy mode), then Titan with Dumien & Mal, then Warlock with Mal's help.

What did I get?

9 Coins
7 Shards

I was hoping for Gjallarhorn , but these will have to do. I am seriously short on energy, so that drop of 11 are very welcome.

Mal got a sick looking Warlock helmet from Nightfall, with good talents at Warlock's standard.

Tonight's plan: 3 sets of Weekly. Gimme that 27 coins so I can reach 90+ on my coin count

Just my two cents here, but it would shorten your load a bit for the weekend. It can be tough to keep grinding Crucible all day. Get some of it done now?

Not too far from the truth (according to Bluntz).

Apparently the loot pools are set so 2 people get armor, 2 people get weapons, and 2 people get screwed. If someone gets a chest armor, that automatically precludes someone else from getting it, so the guy that got the armor pretty much screwed the other guy.

Also, the drops are weighted to favor the fireteam leader.

I haven't got a chance to read the details yet, but I imagine that at least some of the supposedly solo-able portions of the CsE raid can be done much easier with 2 people.

Witty. See the spoiler thread (if you want). One can solo the 1st and 2nd stages of Crota's End, and it's just as easy (if not easier) than two. I suck at stuff like that (jumping, etc..) and I got both stages down to about 15 minutes per attempt.

Due to many careless errors I made, last night's Nightfall went horribly. Got reset 3 times before finally completing it, including one that we already made to the final dungeon. A few lessons:

With many enemies wielding big arc guns, death can come very easily. Take safety way above DPS;

When partying with friends, it's the best for the team to reach final dungeon together. If one gets there first and dead, your team WILL go back to orbit despite the fact that the other players are still alive.

Did not know this but I heard from Datto that going back further than the safe room when cheesing Phogoth kicks you to orbit when soloing. There is no need to go that far back though. If you are not cheesing from the safe room you need to leave some hostiles alone because you can prevent tougher enemies from spawning, like the three melee Hollowed Knights that spawn in the corner of the arena. Datto has a video on it, although he is wrong about the Knights not approaching the steps in the hallway. Had two Ascendant Knights (separately) come up looking lost because I majorly camped it out with a tent, marshmallows, bonfire and everything. But I found out the Wizards can spawn faster by tactical loitering the spawn entrance to the right hand side just before the steps.

Also I noticed last time that the first oart is not a Darkness Zone. However, rushing through it to the Wizards' room does not mean they will disappear as I found out with my Hunter. Yet the game makes you faze out of everyone's game when in Patrol when you enter a Darkness Zone though.

Eh, while the one kick to orbit left us dismayed (because we had already finished the hard part), we still got it done. And I can't be too upset, because usually I am the one being too aggressive!

Last night, I got stopped cold on Nightfall again at the final Dungeon, whiling attempting solo

I was going in with Warlock and tried to be extra careful. The rule: always have a fireborn at reserve. The plan is solid and I was making slow but steady progress. The wait on super cooldown is a bit painful, but with maxed Intellect (had to drop my level to 28) it is not too bad. Just when I thought the victory is within my grasp, I had a moment of absent mindedness and got one shotted by the Arc Cannon. What happened? I made a mistake to shoot at the Knight at the door while refreshing my super at level 28

One thing I learned from this experience: while solo nightfall is scarily exciting, I just don't have the time to afford such setbacks. In the future I'll probably go with LFG when there are no friends are around to tackle it together. Weekly solo on the other hand can still be considered, got both Warlock and Titan done in time for Xur.

I would be willing to do a weekly or NF with someone in the next 24 hours. Haven't done one in a while. As well as a Raid this weekend.

Clan War is holding up ok too. Three other clans are playing, but nothing organized. No one has played all day, but the six nodes we controlled last night are still feeding us points. We still have five nodes left as of now, and our lead has actually still gone up on everyone, from 197 to 205pts.

One other thing to learn from that experience: Don't drop yourself to level 28 where you can easily be 1-shotted when you can be 30 instead! Just wait the extra minute or so for the super cooldown to be extra extra extra safe. That really sucks though! Hope you have better luck if you decide to try solo again!

My plan is to re-armor myself back to 30 as soon as the super is charged. The level 28 armor set is only for the time of sitting in a safe corner waiting for super to recharge (My level 30 armor set has 0 Intellect).

It went well until I had a brain fart of shooting enemies before the super is ready and level changed back

Ahhhh I see now. I thought you were doing the whole thing at 28. Scorpion mode 3.0 -- make yourself 2 levels lower than the enemies on purpose, because being at their level is too easy! LOL.
