This week, they turned down the flames
Nightfall: Nexus with Void burn, Angry, Epic and Juggler.
Heroic: Same, but no burn & Juggler.
- No one ever

Juggler is a bit of a pain for the Weekly if you are cheesing up top. You don't want to get caught by the anti-cheese Minotaur whilst waiting for a synthesis cooldown. Happened to me in a Tiger strike to test out if this may happen in the Weekly Heroic and/or Nightfall events. I've always solo'd this in Nightfall and Weekly Heroics without having the Minotaur spawn right next to me so this may have been a stealth patch or this only happens when there is more than one person in the fireteam.
If only my Atheon's Epilogue was a void Shadow Price rather than a void Doctor Nope.

If only my Atheon's Epilogue was a void Shadow Price rather than a void Doctor Nope. The truth! OMG... I heard such good things about it... then I level it up and mat it up... and it's a peashooter. It's like I didn't do the last tier upgrades to it. Now, I've only run 1 VOG... is it that good against the Oracles? Because it's been collecting dust in my inventory for a while now, waiting for another void primary to take it's place. It almost feels like I'm using a weapon that isn't burning them. But the good news is that when you use it, juggler'll force the mobs to drop heavy ammo which you can use a void MG to slaughter them that way.

I just got my first one, but my understanding is yes, it is much better than a standard weapon. I know that Vision of Confluence is far better against Oracles than any weapon that does not have the bonus. Also, it does tear through those void shields pretty well.

The lactose is strong in this link. But I'm still a fan of being up top with a partner and double teaming the minotaur

Yeah. The minotaur does help resupply heavy ammo for one thing. ;3 I wonder if I could solo the minotaur now that I'm higher level with better weapons and let you focus the Nexus or vice versa. Actually we'd probably need to trade off for ammo.
I've got ammo synths.
Oh yeah... I need to fusion up some things in NF to get my pocket infinity. I managed to finally catch the Gunsmith selling fusion rifles. (Hell I should have bought extra and stored them in case I ever want another.)
I also got the SGA bounty.

We'll make it work... even if we sit there waiting for the synth timer to stop. Grats on the bounties; remember when you get SGA to level it up before breaking it down to get 2 shards and not 1

tl;dr Gotta catch 'em all...
It's my first SGA so I'll keep it. It apparently does have a role as an area denial MG for Crucible, which is a bit odd, but could have some use. I used to specialize in area denial for Control matches in my first couple Iron Banners. Voidfang + 2 solar grenades at the start of every match, every revive, and every respawn, is not bad. Plus tons of solars every time I go radiance. Not great for kills but really good for control.
I'll probably just upgrade it and stick it in the vault, in case it gets buffed someday, though.

Question: don't you hate Juggler on Nexus, especially when you are solo'ing? I used to hate it passionately, but no more! Because: Juggler + Ice Breaker + Heavy Ammo Glitch = lots of solo fun (I am not a big fan of solo, but still enjoy doing it at least once every week on a weekly or nightfall) Don't believe me? I have videos: xboxclips.com/WittyScorpion72/31a3997b-8a93-47df-8be1-37d0b9aebc78The purpose of the above video is not to show my "superb" sniping skills with Ice Breaker (I was missing these crit shots on purpose you know ), but to show the heavy ammo rains from the glitch. All of these ammo packs are put into good use on that spawn-punishing-teleporting-magician-charing-maniac minotaur. I took pleasure in killing him over and over with my seemingly infinite amount of heavy...

If you have to glitch, then you're not Da Real MVP, Witty I have two words for you: FUUNN first! (and don't care about anything else. Well, still care about the loot a great deal, as long as I can find ways to have fun while earning it) It's not everyday that you get the chance to have a zillion minions lined up nicely for you to get heavy ammo through glitch, right before you need to fight The boss and their blood thirsty body guards

eh... I'm more lenient on cheese in Destiny because end game... honestly how are you supposed to play this game? Nightfalls are built for cheese. The number of enemies and bullet sponginess of them makes noncheese even with a full fireteam barely possible and the strait dump to orbit risk factor pushes cheese even more and makes us risk averse. With the AI, map, and mission design it's cheese in, cheese out. Bungie cheeses us with enemies that will swarm every open position in the battle arena and are too bullet spongy to kill them off quick enough. The only answer is you MUST find cover, and the only cover is either, right where you came in, some long range sniping in outdoor area, or some random cheese spot the AI's just can't handle... All cheese. Destiny becomes a cover shooter with no cover mechanics...
I think Bungie deliberately leaves many cheese locations and strategies in place, unpatched, specifically because of this. Because many nightfalls are super hella hella hard (to run "legit") unless you have a full team decked out with hollahorns and all the maxed out, OP gear. Not all of them, but basically nightfalls aren't "fair" to the players.
I don't think cheesing is glitching or cheating in Destiny. It's just playing conservatively and safely. Only the wildest, craziest cheese really crosses the line into ruining the challenge of the game. Most of the cheese is just... necessary.

Oh no, I have no problem with cheesing. It's a strategy, that's perfectly WAI. It was annoying, but even that strategy of making the VOG raid boss fall off the edge was fine to me (well, it is now)
But the heavy ammo glitch (the one of emptying and shooting ammo to make more of it) To me: clearly not WAI and not for me. I mean, I suppose it's fun to do.
Well, whatever floats one's boat, I suppose

I haven't done the heavy ammo glitch enough to weigh in. (Haven't done it on purpose yet, really.) The way I see it now is it's a mitigating factor vs the heavy ammo bug and I'll probably take advantage of it while I can. I expect it'll get patched out... probably same time as the bug.

Nexus with Juggler is as great an opportunity to have fun with the glitch as it can get: 1) Juggler conveniently prevents your primary ammo to get accidentally refilled, which is the most annoying part of using the glitch; 2) The horde of goblins right before the final fight are great sources for providing heavy ammo. Also, IB explosion of 1-kill-taking-out-a-platoon is too much fun to pass up; 3) For staying on the top cave strategy: the murderous maniac minotaurs are a satisfying targets to use heavy ammo on, repeatedly. They teleport to avoid your heavy and will charge you if you take off their heads to prevent the teleporting, making them fun and challenging to take out even with IB+RL combo; 4) Nexus boss is great target practice for IB+RL; I rest my case

Only the wildest, craziest cheese really crosses the line into ruining the challenge of the game. Most of the cheese is just... necessary. Datto does a video showing no cheesing soloing the Nexus without using a void primary. However, he nearly died quite a few times and I suspect if he wasn't a Titan, he wouldn't have made it. He's also level 32, which might have been definitive in staying alive considering how close he was to death on numerous occasions. That said, if you do not cheese, the rewards are often not worth the investment. The enemies cheese you anyway. I spent about 15 minutes waiting for the Hive Wizard to stop suppressing the doorway in the Gatehouse in the Summoning Pits ages ago just so I can actually start the damn thing. I was unsighted and did not fire my weapon. If you have a sniper rifle with armour piercing rounds you can snipe the hobgoblins through the large glass window from the stairs that leads you to the Fallen v Vex fight.

That's the whole thing... I'm normally against cheesing, but the game cheeses us first. I did my first Nexus more or less legit and solo. It was a weekly on level 28 before TDB. I still had to go find a spot I could hide and play cover shooter from because the adds spawn all around you and I certainly did not have the weaponry to go toe to toe with them. These days I'd probably fare better as long as I had something void for the minotaurs.
I don't understand why they have these boss arenas that look like you're supposed to run and gun all over and use cover and play it all "legit" then make it impossible to do that because out of cover you WILL get hit a lot and there's almost nowhere safe enough to regen unless you just cheese it up. It's PvE, but we have to play it like PvP campers...

I'm not against cheesing, or speed runs, or slow runs, or conservative runs or whatever. There's a place for all of them in the game. Just like there's been those who let the hunter ninja to light the lanterns, there's those who just team run, light the lanterns, team kill, cleanse, rinse and repeat the whole way through.
Honestly, nothing is more legit than the other method... if you want to stay up and snipe the nexus, you'll have to deal with the minotaur... wanna cheese teh Archon priest and you'll have to deal with the ship that flies by.. wanna cheese the Ogre, deal with the shrieker... wanna cheese omnigol, you'll deal with multiple wizards... the list goes on and on and on.
And I don't think Bungie cares a bit, so long as it's not gamebreakingly blatant (ie: making the VOG boss walk off the ledge)

You and venus have a pretty sweet thing going there. Praise to the RNGeebus Yeah most of my good gear comes from Venus, a few decent returns from Mars, and then the Moon and Earth are usually uninspiring. Venus has given me most of my exotics: Suros Regime, Ice Breaker, Patience and Time, Thunderlord, and the Heart of the Praxic Fire. And the legendaries from Venus are often above average including upgrade perks. My Admonisher III also has tracking so I'll see how good it is in PvP while I get my Bad Juju bounty done again. And my Vanquisher VIII's has Perfect Balance, Persistence and Third Eye.

If I get on early enough I'm up for running the NF. I'm planning to do IB all week, but from what I've read the XP bonus does apply to bounties so that's still a thing. (Though I don't know if that means XP only or also applies to rep from bounties. Prolly just XP...)

Your suspicions are correct -- Nightfall boost only applies to the XP gained from Iron Banner bounties. It doesn't help with the IB rep gained, unfortunately.

That's okay. I still have weapons that need XP... so a friendly NF which could also get me some coins or items wouldn't be unwelcome... but if I don't make it tonight I'll probably just skip it. I'll do the weekly on Friday or Saturday, most likely... then again late week gametime is worth more IB rep so maybe I should get the weekly done too... although if Xur didn't have anything good I would have until Monday night to run it... hmmm... Probably better not to procrastinate.

I am seriously sick of Omnigul. The lack of content is finally burning me out. Might be time for a new game.
