Since the original thread seems to have no hope for freedom from being hijacked, (which I'm at least partly to blame for) despite Marko's repeated attempts to put it back on track, I thought Marko's rather useful thread deserved a new lease on life. I hope I got all the links right. What are some of your best pages for Destiny resources and help? - This section of the board, obvz. -markopolo
- Bungie.net/legend section... a great place to look at your stats as well as your gear and vault and moving back and forth, (the destiny app is also great for this too but the desktop site is nice and big and imho, easier and crashes less.) -markopolo
- I'm a fan of DestinyDB for "should you buy it" advice when Xur comes around and the Destiny reddit page for some decent info too. -markopolo
- When I'm in the mood, and feel like exploring, the Destiny Ghost Hunter page is a nice resource with descriptions, youtube videos, and it keeps track of what you have and what you don't have... gotta get 'em all to get that Grimlore score up up up! -markopolo
- A new one for me, DestinyStatus.com does a nice job of keeping track of all your characters and their raid statuses all in one place; desktop puts them side by side, mobile top to bottom. -markopolo
- Destiny Public Events... so incredibly useful for marks and mats farming... I cried when they brought out the update that screwed all these times up and the site had to be rebuilt. -markopolo
- DestinyDB is great, although DestinyTracker.com and PlanetDestiny both have databases as well. I sometimes prefer the layout of PlanetDestiny's database. -TheHawkNY
- With the updates to move items between characters and the vault, they also update the API, opening up opportunities for developers. The best I've seen is Destiny Item Manager, a Chrome extension that shows your inventory for all characters on one screen and allows you to move items between characters much more easily than using the app or Bungie.net. -TheHawkNY
- Stumbled across a couple of nice scope comparison images from this guy on Reddit... (Scout Rifles, Sniper Rifles) -TheHawkNY
- A nice reddit thread to evaluate your exotics and whether ir not to upgrade. Also a good thread. -markopolo
- I didn't know this site existed: thedestinyblog.com/ Nice gathering of news, especially with the teaser that Bungie will announce the HoW release date sometime this month. -markopolo

Item manager is fantastic. I feel like they could take it a step further and add one click class swapping. Atm it doesn't allow for switching classes when exotics are in differing spots. I can see myself doing some nifty tricks with the no primary/icebreaker heavy ammo glitch and one clicking to a class with an exotic launcher mid combat.

I haven't even experimented with classes in it at all. If I could have them add a feature, it would be to switch one weapon with another - I'm around the max for weapons, so I generally have to move a weapon from a character to make room. It would be nice if I could just swap two weapons between characters. Also, it looks like they're going to update it soon to be better organized: i.imgur.com/UGSv7A1.jpg

Maybe they haven't, because they are worried people will figure out how to abuse it? Destiny players are pretty resourceful, in what they come up with.

I tried using it... I found it very confusing. I like that update picture and it's possibilities... I hope that happens for sure

Another alternative to destiny item manager, is Tower Ghost chrome app.
I like it as any alternative to DIM

It is great! that is the one I also use!
Hated the latest update though, showing two characters next to eachother. It makes the pictures too small.
Is there a destiny item manager app aswell?
I use DIM on pc, tower ghost on phone.

Unfortunately I think I don't like the new DIM on PC. They made it extremely vertical. I used to be able to see all my inventory on one screen. Now it uses only half my screen and I have to scroll... lahme...

Oh WTF Bliz! I don't get it. Tower Ghost is almost exactly the same. Same vertical layout. The preview before I installed it showed it giving views of weapon stats but now that I have it up there aren't any. This looks like it used to be great but now is no better than the new DIM...

Well yay I figured out how to get the stats at least... Still vertical and the new DIM has drag and drop so I dunno... hmm...

Tower Ghost is (at least for me) preferred because:
1) It separates your weapons and armor 2) when you want to amalgamate resources, it allows you to stack over 199 (hell, I had 700 weapons parts and hadronic essences) which DIM doesn't 3) DIM, at the last update, just showed me 10 of my 20ish weapons and I couldn't access some... not with TGD

Tried the Tower Ghost and I have to say that I like DIM better. Personally DIM's smaller icon without distracting damage numbers is easier for me to read. Tower Ghost page on the other hand looks too busy to me. That said: Tower Ghost does provide more information, most importantly the hover over that gives the full details on gears. I will be using both, does not hurt

I love the hover over of Ghost, but I also really prefer just using drag and drop on DIM to move my stuff. Also the one thing that none of them seem to do anymore is FORMAT FOR WIDESCREEN MONITORS. *grumblegrumble* I don't see why I'm forced to waste 1/3 or more of my screen and have to scroll down. The original DIM put my entire inventory on the screen at one time and I miss it. (Granted I also have more stuff now, but I really want more columns... it's a known thing and apparently planned for some future version... but... I'm waiting with very little patience and the first inventory manager to offer me that I will jump ship quicker than rats leaving the Titanic.)
It's the same gripe I always have when webpages format themselves for vertical viewing and waste all my screen space like Youtube used to. Yes I understand people use their mobile devices vertically most of the time. (It's pretty evident from all the stupid videos shot vertically... *grumblegrumble*) But, come on...

So what do you guys think is the best mobile version? I always use tower ghost but it seems extremely buggy, it keeps doing updates, which will make it unusable half the time. The other half it is just amazing and way better than the default destiny app.
Any other mobile versions I should try?

Are you a collector and want to have an easy way to find out what items you are missing? DestinyTracker has a new feature to give you that info: destinytracker.com/destiny/vault , search by GT/PSNID, then click Collection Checklist. I am missing so much stuff (especially the Trials pieces, which I probably will never be able to collect all) that I don't care any more . Feel liberating, less reasons to grind things, more energy towards truly enjoying the game play (and if Destiny does not provide that, play other games...)
