dont feel this post deserves a dedicated thread, so I will put it here.
On gunsmith (Banshee-44):
rank 1 allows you to place 1 armsday order, rank 2 allows 2, so my guess is that each rank will add 1+ until reaching 5.
Also, you can get wrapon quests from him. I got a SR quest that upon completion rewarded me the Stillpiercer 280 attack sniper rifle: it has the same RoF and Impact as Ice Breaker, and the perk "perfectionist": magazine is refunded if all shots fired are precision kills. Looks like the replacement of IB/BlackHammer.

That relies on precision kills, not precision hits I believe.

If you are wondering when the new game "Zone Control" (= CoD's DOM) will appear:
Not a direct answer, but looks like Bungie's plan is:
1) release Rift and Mayhem Clash (done); 2) Zone Control and maybe Mayhem Rumble; 3) Return of ToO;

Mayhem? Was that one of the TTK exclusive game modes on offer to everyone for a few days before TTK was fully released and they didn't bother to have it available when TTK dropped despite positive feedback?

Oh, the Mayhem Clash is not in either? Did not notice that because I have not had time playing PvP other than getting the 15 marks from daily playlists.

Funny, because that would have enticed me to get TTK sooner. With the nerfed cooldowns on year 1 gear, it's basically the only place I can fully utilise year 1 exotics like Achlyophage Symbiote and Heart of the Praxic Fire.

You have not purchased TTK yet despite that it is on top of the UK chart for last week? It is fantastic, I know 40 pounds price tag feels like a brutal rip off, but after playing through the first week, I can say that the experience justifies a full game price (not that it should have been charged with that). Compared to Y2, Y1 indeed feels like a beta.

There are workarounds on the Xbox, it's just tricky. You do it by having a US account and then buy an online gift card from a US store and hope you have a trustworthy seller. If you do travel to the US, then always have a US account and buy credit for your account while in the US. People will scream fraud but then charging people extra based on nationality should also be illegal. Activision sets it at that price because they can get away with it. That is why there is a discrepancy between this title based on exchange rates and other games, and then further discrepancies with other trades involving cross-border sales. That's fine, I've been playing Call of Duty long enough to know milking when I see it. It's just funny to see Halo fanboys on Reddit in denial of it when it comes to Destiny. I also enjoy seeing Americans trying to justify it based on national average wage income. It makes me feel like I live in Orange County (CA) or something.
Also, the beta for Rainbow Six Siege starts in three days so I will hopefully be busy with that.

How did you get into Rainbow 6 beta?
Not that I have enough interest or time to play it, but I am curious nonetheless, because I heard it is a closed beta.

I pre-ordered ages ago from Amazon as soon as it was available practically. It might go open with a few days of being closed like BF4 did or whatever game it was.

Here is a long long review from Kotaku on Year 2: kotaku.com/destiny-the-taken-king-the-kotaku-review-1733834513The gist: I echo these sentiments (could not said better myself), so do many of my Y1 Destiny friends who are now playing Y2. The article also did a fantastic job of describing the experience: weapons, subclasses, and activities. They are accurate and not hypes. And most importantly: the new raid is awesome! So for Y1 bros who have been hesitant ( GodMars, iw5000, mannon, beavenge, eLantern, to just name a few): come back, you won't be disappointed

Just waiting for the price to drop by whatever means. $40 for this expansion has turned out to be an excellent investment. Way more value, in my opinion, than the first two expansions combined. Maybe as good or better than the entire first year combined.

TTK basically feels and plays like a brand new game that are way better than the entire Year 1 content:
Quantity: 1) Story missions: with missions from main story quest, along with side quests after that, should be more than the entire Y1 combined; 2) Strikes; 3 TTK ones + 4 PS exclusive remake (which we never got on XONE side during year 1) >= # strikes in Y1 (7?) 3) Raid: 1 awesome raid King's Fall (5 bosses) vs. 1 solid raid (VoG, 4 bosses) + 1 fairly underwhelming quality raid (CE, only Crota is interesting), TTK wins; 4) Court of Oryx vs. Prison of Elders (from House Of Wolves expansion): Court Of Oryx wins; 5) 3 new subclasses vs. 6 existing subclasses: I guess Y1 wins; 6) Weapon variety, both for regular and exotic: TTK trumps Y1 completely; 7) Puzzles, riddles, explorations, etc: TTK quite a few, Y1 none, TTK wins;
Quality: TTK way better than Y1. Really not much more to say beyond that, you'll have to play and see. I would say $40 is a steal

I'd have to buy this and the previous expansion to play. BO3 lands in just over a month, and the Battlefront open beta is less than two weeks away. Just doesn't seem like a wise investment for me.

The previous expansions are included in the $60 legendary edition. (as well as the basic game, so you could probably sell your current copy for 10 bucks or something)
For the $40 expansion, you indeed need the other two (aka, legendary will always be cheaper)

Simply not worth the investment to pick that up.

I can understand that. Really hope the COD will be better this year, but in all honesty, I don't think I will buy it (full price) even if it is superb. I will be playing destiny for the next few months.
Literally the only gripe I have left with destiny is no dedicated servers.

GodMars and qupie: IMHO, TTK can (and probably should ) be played alongside with other games. TTK is awesome, but in 2 weeks I expect to transition from "crazy mode" (of spending every available minute on it) to "maintenance mode": 0) Priority 0: any hidden new quests discovered by the community. 1) Priority 1: Court of Oryx especially when there is a new tier 3 boss; 2) Priority 1: Raid; 3) Priority 2: daily heroic and PvP if I feel like it (10-15 minutes each); 4) Priority 2: weekly heroic and PvP if I fee like it (3 strikes and 3 PvP games, 1 hour each tops); This is because after I get my primary through all the PvE quests, complete new subclass upgrade tree on alternates, and obtain all 3 exotic swords, the content is pretty much exhausted. From that point on it is basically playing the existing content for loot. In parallel, main gaming focus (priority 1) will be switched to Halo 5 when it drops on 10/27, and later Halo5 + BLOPS3 (probably will start in December). Honestly speaking, Destiny just can't scratch that PvP itch, due to: 1) 30FPS; 2) Pretty subpar (to say the least!) netcode; 3) No dedicated servers; 4) SBMM does not seem to work very well (most likely due to the difficulty of gauging players' skills, as the majority of the community just play for loot) ; 5) No competitive ranking system; 6) The main competitive experience, Trials of Osiris, sucks for me because a) no SBMM, b) not enough players at or below my skill level for me to beat up on, c) no friends to play with together; I will still play through the Crucible quest line to unlock the weekly bounties eventually, on all 3 of my characters, mainly as an achievement. But without friends to play together, the PvP is just a loot source for me, and not even a good one. On the other hand, I thoroughly enjoyed the beta of both Halo and BLOPS3, it is not a stretch at all to say, along with Titanfall, the best fun I have ever had of playing FPS games. Both experiences are awesome, and with dedication to 60FPS and competitive ranking system, the competitive experience should be solid. Playing Destiny along with these will provide a diversified enough experience, so I won't feel bored for a long while.

I think "maintenance mode" doesn't do justice to the game anymore. Sounds like it is a chore, which it really isn't imho. There are so many different paths to get to your loot end goal, and the fun factor was increased allot.
Other than that, ToO is a great challenge imho. It combines tactical play (when to super, push, pull, etc etc) with twitch skills, in a way COD has never done for me. The netcode also got better as far as I know.

It combines tactical play (when to super, push, pull, etc etc) with twitch skills, in a way COD has never done for me. The netcode also got better as far as I know. As much as I love Destiny, I already start feeling hints of repetitiveness from recent game play sessions. Sure, I can still get lots of freshness by using different guns and exotic armors with unique abilities, playing with different subclasses, and experimenting with different strategies, but it is still the same content. Just doing Cour of Oryx casually, raid once a week, and go throughdaily and weekly whenever I feel like it, would be enough for me to "maintain" Destiny. Any amount beyond that could actually cause "fatigue". Of course: have another DLC could totally change that , provided the quality is still there. However, I don't see that happening any time soon. PvP just too "second citizen" (from Bungie development point of view) to reach fun enough height of where Halo 5 and BLOPS 3 can get me ( qupie: if you haven't played BLOP3, I'll tell you right now even with only 1 week of very buggy beta, I already had more fun than any previous CoD I played since MW3). Among the people I play with, I am one of the extreme minority who enjoy playing PvP besides loot and actually care about getting better at it. Unfortunately, the game's infrastructure does not provide the most important features I need for playing solo (Competitive ranking, SBMM), and I don't have any friends who are willing and able to play PvP together on my play schedule. Nowadays I use Destiny PvP as practice ground for Halo and BLOPS3. Whatever skills I want to get better at (e.g.: sniping), I jump into Crucible and practice there . It has the weapons, it has the movements, and it has the "performance does not matter" atmosphere so I can totally relax. Not to mention that I can earn stuff while doing that.

Whichever way you look at it - 40 quid is a kick in the balls. That said. I love it. I don't regret it. Cash per hour: destiny is still up there as one of the best value for money games I've ever owned. Possibly even more than any cod or borderlands I've had.
