I've literally spawned inside someone in a FFA once, bare set of eyeballs and teeth to beheld...
As for Vahn deeming gun balance too early, that itself is a respectable mindset; can't be hasty.

hey have heard feedback about weapons, including the Gorgon LMG. They will announce details when they have info on their plans for future updates. RIP Gorgon RIP Shotguns RIP Anything not a SMG/Rifle because of MLG/YT heroes. Back to square one with balance.

It'll start with the Gorgon and Haymaker, then it'll be the Dredge and Argus, then it'll be every other shotgun and LMG. My hope is that they pull an "870" and just do a very minor nerf to the gorgon, but treyarch has already shown that they'll cave to the demands of SMG/AR users when they nerfed the KRM's 1HK range.

Now stop the spawn flips. The spawns flip too gosh darn golly gee whiz easy. The middle of any map is a clusterFoxtrot. And while you are at it, remove the "previous" choice from the voting system.
I remember again why I stopped playing COD...
Most maps are too small for 6v6, combined with map voting, you almost only get those gosh darn golly gee whiz small maps. The few maps in which you can actually flank and walk around are never chosen because the playerbase likes shooting and dying all the time. The small maps are giant clusterFoxtrots where even reloading will get you killed, unless you camp like a bitch There is always another guy left, right or behind you. Add the super fast TTK and you will almost never have a time to respond. Add killstreak rewards you want to get and the game gets frustrating very fast.
I will keep playing this game on and off, should be fun with friends, but for some real challenge I will go back to higher TTK games.
And yes, youtube heroes ruin every single game, because most of them have no clue what balance actually is.
I will stop ranting now, but my gaming session yesterday was hell a frustrating. 1 v 1, no problem, but 9 out of 10 times you get flanked before you can reload. Most of these maps would be perfect for 3 v 3 game modes...

I don't see anything in the patch notes, about addressing
- connection issues - being kicked offline while waiting in parties or lobbies - friend invites not working - group party functions being inconsistent and failing (see #2) - Weird messages about being disconnected - Overall more lag when grouped up with people (more than what should be expected upon a release, compared to prior games) - Matchmaking royally screw up and start lobbies with unbalanced teams (ig, 7 v 5, 9 v 3, etc..) - Matching invite 13 people into a 12 person lobby, and then get stuck. Typically booting people offline.
Aren't the above items some of THE core elements of the game? Like the above things, should be addressed before worrying what is going to be banned in Arena mode? Shouldn't David Vonderhaar immediately looking to fix the above things first?

Speaking of connection, the party Hawk and I had going went bonkers; one point we're down 1 man whilst fighting 7, then later it's a 4v8 in our favor. Yeah~.

I forgot to add that to my list. In the past five days, I have seen seven or so lobbies, where the game match-making screwed up and gave everyone unbalanced teams. Like a Nuketown uplink game that was like 9v3. I have seen my own groups, get split up onto different teams three times.A have seen Domination games that are 7 v 5. I have seen the pre-match screen invite 13 people into the lobby, and then get hung up. Perhaps this is why people keep getting booted from lobbies? Knocked offline? All the above is in just like 12 hours of gaming. I've seen the above junk more in just that limited gaming, than I saw it for entire other games all year.

Huh. I was just about to post how stable the lobbies & connections were last night, even playing with a friend across the country. We actually stayed in the same lobby for close to two hours, which is insane for this game.
Yesterday I gave my PS4 static IP, put it in DMZ, forwarded all the BO3 ports on PF.com, as well as UDP 3075, and disabled firewall. Maybe that helped with the lobby stuff? Probably just got lucky tho.

Port forwarding is something absolutely necessary to be before you can blame any game. I understand people feel consoles are meant to be plug and play, but there is simply not much a game can do if a router is not cooperating. It can limit the problems you have with it, but you will never have a perfect experience.
edit: I am not saying this game doesn't produce any problems, or can't be blamed. Just advocating that port forwarding should always be done for any game.

I echo this sentiment. If your NAT type can't stay OPEN in game, you really need to do something. Otherwise the party-with-friends experience is gonna be out-of-whack for sure.

How about fixing spawns in DOM..
Amounts to atleast 5 deaths a game spawning directly in front of an enemy when they push to far into our spawn..
Going to toss out a possible fix for spawning in general.. Lets be real spawns will never be fixed completely.
Implement spawn protection... For the first few seconds you are straight up untouchable. Nothing will be able to kill you (streaks, guns, lethals)

Spawn protection sounds nice, but I think it cannot be implemented right in a game like COD for several reasons.
If you can shoot the opponent but they can's shoot you, you created an even bigger problem. If you both can't shoot each other you are back to square one, and you create some kind of game of chicken. Keeping track of eachother for a few seconds and then see who fires first.
Just create some maps bigger than a Foxtroting postage stamp...

The biggest issue is movement speed. The maps can be traversed too quickly. Even without exo movement you guy sprints at a cool 25 mph.

Part of the problems are CoDs have always been trying to use one map for multiple purpose. They need to work with 6v6 (pub stump playground), 4v4 (competitive), and even 9v9 (GW Cluster F*ck). Several problems can be addressed by playing 4v4: map size, lag, spawn kills, spawn traps, etc. That's exactly what Arena is doing. So if you care less about pub stumps (dadly thats what most good players want to do) and more about cleaner game experience, Arena is the way to go. Personally I am having a blast with Halo 5 Arena 4v4 and the experiences are just so clean. Hopefully BO3 Arena can be close enough.

BTW, Halo 5 put in a good system to battle map size issue:
1) All maps are free, no DLC to fragment the user base;
2) The forge system makes it easier for the studio to make maps, and more importantly, let the community to create maps;
3) Vehicle-less maps are specifically designed for 4v4;
4) Large scale battle are covered by Warzone maps for 12v12;
5) Big Team Battle 8v8 (with vehicle) will have their dedicated forge maps custom made for that experience (to be launched soon, sometime this month);
