edit: Nevermind. Treyarch might actually take this seriously and nerf LMGs, because they are finally useful.
I have over 1000 hours logged into the game already, and it's evenly split between all weapons.
> I have extensively tested every attachment combination, > done wall tests that make drift0r look like an amateur, > even decoded the raw stats 10x more efficiently than Marvel ever could.
Unlike in previous titles, where there was never clearly a "best gun", because it usually came down to personal preference, this game actually has a clear winner in all categories.
So without further ado, I present to you my indisputable findings:
Best LMG: 48 Dredge (extended mags)
Best AR: 48 Dredge (fast mags)
Best SMG: 48 Dredge (quickdraw & stock)
Best Sniper: 48 Dredge (thermal)
Best Shotgun: 48 Dredge (hipfired with laser)

Wait, does Stock actually do something in this game?

On a serious note (for PC).
It seems like XR-2 for AR is among the best thanks to easy recoil as well as long range 3 hit to kill. (I realize some people won't like anything that's not fully auto). Runner up seems like the HVK would be a decent shot for a full auto rifle
SMG I am enjoying the VMP but I assume Vesper's higher rate of fire should make it better. I just got used to VMP being early to unlock and having decent recoil.
Kuda's 3 hit kill range is too small that it's basically not worth it.

How the fvck do you 1,000 hours on this game? I've played most of the days since launch, and am only like at 12 hours. That's in 6 days, 2 hrs a day average.

Stock is still the best attachment for assault rifles and LMGs on PC. It's not as strong as before, but still a noticeable ADS movespeed increase.

It's not the shitty movespeed that makes the stock bad, it's the nonexistent bonus while firing that makes it godawful.

It helps me from what I have seen so far (which is only 12 hours of play). What am I missing? It seems like the ADS movement speed in this game is slower in general. Like if I go ADS, try shooting an enemy at a decent distance . . . it's very easy for him to simply side strafe right out of my range laterally. That's what is SEEMS like. This may be due to me taking a lot of CoD time off? I don't know. but if feels like that. And bit of help on this, helps me. Isnt' that the whole point of Stock?

So if I read between the lines, you mean that the movement modifier of stock changes whether you pull the trigger or not? Or does something completely different happen when shooting and strafing with stock? Does it add some kind of hipfire spread or something? You are being really cryptic up there. Tl;Dr: Could you elaborate a little bit

I feel like it should be the other way around so cornering lag can't be abused... The moving quickly while firing part is..unsurprisingly.. The part that takes skill.
Is there anything in this game that increased the skill gap, or only more shrinking? Is yy back?

This thread is as good as any for guessing 3arc's nerf targets From Vahn: Sounds like Gorgon is getting a slight nerf if any, M8A7 on the other hand... (translate: DO NOT burn your prestige unlock tokens on weapons)

I don't agree with that. Burst guns are not really hard to use, especially with aim assist.

A weapon with stock attached loses the benefits of the stock while firing. That shit is Foxtroted up. I haven't used it yet, but that must feel very very wonky. It doesn't feel too bad. After using stock for 3 games now I find it extremely hard to play without it on the slow weapons, even in its nerfed state. With all the sprinting + boosting + Gung-Ho hip firing you really need all the mobility you can get.

I don't agree with that. Burst guns are not really hard to use, especially with aim assist. That doesn't really make any sense. Clearly some guns are harder to use than others, and they all have aim assist (obviously ignoring new snipers). Harder =/= hard. Burst fire IS harder than full auto fire. Harder to use guns should be more powerful such that someone capable of handing it's weaknesses and using it's strengths (where weaknesses are not low damage, but rather handing and mechanics)

Stock seems pretty pointless on PC. Having either quick draw, fast mags or grip (depending on the gun you are using) seems to be more beneficial.
Seems like for attachments the few that make the most difference will be laser sight and quick draw. Followed by either extended mag or fast mag (partial to fast mag as I have a habit of reloading after every kill when safe).
After doing some tests with SMG's on PC. It seems like the grip doesn't do much. The recoil pattern is always randomized in terms of some times no grip is just as accurate as with the grip.
So laser sight is OP for hip fire. Seems like kill tactical loitering silencer with the Vesper/ VMP is ok. I don't know if I will want to use Grip or quick draw.

Well the reason burst rifles have always been more popular on console compared to pc is because the nature of burst weapons and aim assist help each other very well. You get a really fast burst of damage, and in this short time frame where you shoot 3/4 rounds, aim assist can help you with that sticky aim. If you have slightly lower damage output of sustained fire, only 2/3 bullets benefit from that aim assist, which often doesn't get you the kill.
Burst are harder to use if every other parameter would be the same. But burst guns often have more range, rate of fire within burst, damage or less recoil.
