I don't know what it is, but it seems like um never not lagging. And its not my internet, because my speed tests always come back good (11ms ping). I don't know what it is, but this game seems choppy. It's noticeable when running around. It just never looks smooth. My guy stutter steps a lot, and the maps just seem choppy like it can't handle loading all the data smoothly.

It definitely feels like the laggiest COD to date for me. Constantly getting "connection interrupted" and rubber banding. A huge step backwards from AW on the XB1.

You need to run packet loss tests to be sure your connection isn't contributing to your woes.

It isn't, for me at least. During these frequent spikes in lag (where everything goes choppy, low framerate, and all players start teleporting around), it happens to everyone in the lobby and everyone complains about it. Haven't seen a single "migrating host" yet though, so I wonder if these are really garbage dedi's? Or they just aren't strict enough in their selection of which player is the host?

I've had a handful of host migrations, none of which were successful. Really bad hosts rarely initiate migration. And post mega patch I am noticing more intermittent "rubber banding" type moments.
3arch, doing their thing.

I have been having the same problem since the game came out, after updates my game would noticeably get choppier/frame rate issues. I have to uninstall then reinstall the game and then it's butter smooth again.
Not sure if this is the same issue, but it's worth a try.

Same issue on XBox for me. I have great internet and have never once found myself lagging in BF 4 or Killer Instinct. But this CoD has a ridiculous amount of lag. I've seen host migrations but they aren't ever successful. There's also some occasional framerate issues where a single match will be giving me like 12 frames per second, then in the very next game it will be normal. Really wish they just did what they did with Ghosts, because that was a completely lag-free experience for me.

I honestly feel like I must be playing a different game or something; there's nothing terribly unusual going on when I play when I get into the actual game 97% of the time. I have encountered a couple lobbies that were horrible for stuttering and slow play, but that's it.

I also get some unplayable lag but I do have poor internet. But then 30 minutes later it will be fine. Hmmm.

A couple things regarding connection on xbox1: 1) When the issue is constant lag spikes (as in lag spikes every 5 or so seconds), then 90% of the time the issue seems to be the XB1 operating system, meaning hard resetting your console will fix the spikes. 2) (This one isn't an XB1 exclusive problem) Last night Treyarch put AW style SBMM in the multiplayer, which WILL lead to worse connections as well as having a harder time finding lobbies. The lag spikes are almost always an issue with the XB1 itself and can be fixed with a hard reset almost every time.

You've gotta be kidding me. The only reason I got this game was because they said they wouldn't do this. Another thing, I tend to get most of the lag issues when I play with a friend who uses wi-fi, which is most of my play time. When I play solo it's usually alright.

A bunch of people complained about how the team balancing was working and Treyarch misinterpreted that to mean people wanted SBMM. Also, is your friend located in a region far away from your own? Because if so there is no connection optimization that will allow for a party of players who live far away from each other to play together and both have good connections.

^ No he lives in the same city as me.
And I can't believe they thought people wanted AW's matchmaking back. I think a lot of peoples' complaints with the matchmaking is that the lobbies get balanced poorly. I think the metric they use is SPM to determine how to balance, which is possibly the stupidest thing to use. All it means is how fast or slow people play, which has no indication of player skill. Personally, I wish the matchmaking didn't care at all about any sort of skill or stats, and just randomly grouped players. It works fine in the BF 4 servers for anyone to play against anyone randomly.

I'm on XB1 and everything is fairly good for me. Theirs dedi network lag every once and a while (especially on 2xp weekends), but besides that I really cant complain. I do notice some frame drops if I have a podcast or something snapped on the screen, but that's kind of expected.

I have encountered a couple lobbies that were horrible for stuttering and slow play, but that's it. My experience is more towards what you are seeing. I can honestly say, I have not seen a single Host Migration yet. Not one. Is this a mistake? Am I missing it somehow? Like maybe it's not shown on the screen? Funny this was brought up, because I hadn't even thought about it yet. I read this thread, and was like.." oh yeah, host migration, that is always terrible with Treyarch games but wait....I haven't seen one yet???"Not going to say every game has been perfect for me. I have seen maybe four or five like 'slow motion' lag games, where everyone was moving like at 1/20th speed, with horrible lag. But that's like four games out of five hundred or more. Sh1t happens. As far as the rest. For the most part, relatively smooth. Again, occasionally the 75 to 100 ping plus game, but not enough of them to get me blowing my stack. Within reason, is the operative word there. Most all the games I'm seeing seem to be in the 20 to 50 ping range. At least I think so. Obviously, solo play is better than grouped play. But grouped play seems to have improved a bit since early on. And with that, the party functioning/grouping is immensely better since the first few weeks. I don't know, it's seems good. And I'm not saying that because I am doing better. My stats have never been worse for the most part. That said, I think that's mostly due to me playing a ton of solo Dom play early on. On games like FFA, I'm rocking around a 2.0 KD and have a record like 40-2 so far. Also doing better in Dom too. Got to get that map & pattern awareness down. Do that, doesn't matter what gun I use.

iw5000, you don't get those occasional games with the lag spikes that forces you to reset your XB1?

iw5000, you don't get those occasional games with the lag spikes that forces you to reset your XB1? I've gotten those. Screen locks up, or get the spinning Trearch symbol, then the game crashes. Not that often though. Like not enough to make me rage.
