So the 2015 Holidays came and are almost over. A few observations and a rant or two . . . 1. Holidays. Lots of this below. And I do mean lots of it. At one point while gaming, saw like 8 straight games like the one below... 2. For the most part, I suppose one would find the above wonderful. Especially if one is either 1) playing in a party, or 2) playing FFA. Yeah. Playing those two game modes, it has been like a fat guy getting a free shot at a all-you-can-eat buffet. Not that I give a sh1t about my stats, but my KD has gone skyrocketing up like 0.3 points or so. Yay me. That makes me feel so good inside (insert sarcasm there) FFA? It's just been even more terrible. Lots of new people running around stomping up a herd's worth of noise-making, while I just mow them down with dead silence and awareness. I think my FFA record is currently like 80-2 or something like that, and I had like a 5.0+ KD this last week for this mode. Just stupid easy playing. So that's the good news. But why is it bad? 3. The bad news? The game itself is kind of lame with all the new people. Yes, it is. Take FFA. Anyone who can honestly say they find constant enjoyment in beating the above new people down like that, over and over and over...is probably one of those people who likes picking on retarded people. After awhile, you just feel bad. And it's the same story when running grouped up. Games are typically just smash-fests, with people racing around trying to see who can get to the killstreaks first and other silly nonsense fussing about spm and other stats. Same for solo play. Games are even worse, but in a different way. The games are now breaking down into basically who is most unfortunate to have the shittiest players on their team. Play TDM? It's great if you go say 20-10, but then you have to watch two level 1 players go a combined 2-40, wrecking your team and just feeding killstreaks. This is fun? Eh, not really. 4. Long story short, TL/DR . . .the actual games I'm playing are kind of boring. Heading into NYE, I'm kind of boring of this game. I love the thrill of competitive CoD, the excitement of a barnburner type of game, going to the wire. Right now? You just don't find it. Most all games are diverting into the two extremes, one side shitting on the other, or vice versa. This game needs more balance. I suppose I could go play that competitive mode, but honestly, I had completely forgotten it was there, until typing this thread. Oh yeah, that is in the game too. Does anyone even play it? I don't recall even seeing any topics on it. 5. The rant? I've played probably more solo CoD this time with BO3, than the past four CoD's combined. It has reminded (or taught me) yet again kind of a reminder lesson. This being a lot of CoD players are dickheads. And I mean that in the negative way it implies. There's probably more shit-talking in CoD multiplayer games than ALL other online games combined. Seriously, so much post game bvllshi recentlyt, where a player tops the leaderboard post-game, and then right on cue, does the " YOOOO BRO..I JUST SHAT ON ALL OF YOU, LOSERSSSSSS!!". I hear this so much. Maybe I am hearing it more now, because of the more solo play? Maybe I am older, noticing it more too? Who knows. Treyarch probably doesn't help with this. They encourage this. Look at how BO3 added in new taunts and other silly nonsense, which is all about disrespecting the other players. Nice job Vanderhar. What I do know is a lot of these people are straight up losers. Ditto to the Treyarch staff for encouraging it too. Fvck you Vanderhar. All of these people are classic keyboard warriors who hide behind the internet, and wouldn't say jack sh1t to anyone if face to face. And here's the thing. The above huge influx of new people only further adds to this problem. Really now, why brag about beating down an opponent that has five people who just bought the game? Who can't even hear you, while you stomp them with DS/Awareness? Why talk shit? It's like beating down a retard. But that's what CoD players do. CoD is the only game in the world where players don't care about actually trying to get good...they only care about APPEARING to be good, via fake stats. Yeah, I've ranted about this before, so same story, different year. But it is true. Every other real game/sport I have played/competed in, you actually seek out good people, to practice/compete with, because that's how you get better. CoD? Ok, it IS a video game (so not apples to apples) but still. It's the opposite. Almost everyone seeks out the above shitty people, to avoid meaningful competition, ...so they can puff up a stat no one can see, and create a false sense of skill with themselves. Welcome to CoD. Some things never change. Happy new year and hopefully 2016 is a good year for everyone.

I don't see how this is a problem related specifically to CoD. People are assholes, and it's a PvP game. Trash talk can be used as a tool of intimidation and can influence how players react to what you're doing which can be predicted and taken advantage of. I like the emotes and the customization options; Poplock and Praise Me are my favorite rares. I think you're taking the game a touch too seriously. Enjoy the christmas newbies while they're here; level weapons, try new things, because they won't be here for too long. They'll move onto another game or get better with more playtime.

1. Who still plays with the lobby voice chat enabled? 2. You're on the wrong platform if you're playing solo that much.

I mute everyone so I don't have to hear all the annoying sh it talking or whining or horrible music. I run solo almost all the time because I play at odd hours, and can't really talk on the mic because I am on baby night feeding duty (which coincides nicely with COD playing time), so I'd be a boring, randomly quitting teammate anyway. I also don't have a lot of xbox friends who own BO3, because I am a cynical old introvert and am afraid to add any of you and I ignore random people who want to party up with me online. ( chillz, thanks for the invite, I tried to get in a game with you once but your party was full--it will happen!) I really do want to play with some den bros, I promise. I might even help you win. I have a DenK clan tag even, I swear! Anyways with the above established, I am still enjoying this game mostly because I am pretty focused on completing challenges. Like most other COD games I kind of have individual goals, and I work towards those, and once I run out of "things to do" I usually stop playing. Winning the actual games is obviously also a goal, I hate losing, but things like hero camos, diamond guns, weird little challenges like "jump and then slide and get a kill while sliding" or getting 10 underwater kills or getting that emblem I want etc. etc., keeps me playing and is fun for me. It's always been like that with COD, it is sort of like the treasure hunting element of an RPG in that way. The Xmas noobs are a nice little sideshow, I honestly don't care about them or their feelings, beyond my normal baseline level of human compassion that I have for everyone. Yes some of them are terrible but there are prestige 7 people who are also surprisingly awful, that's the nature of this game. For the most part this game is still so chaotic and random I'm not seeing a lot of games where it's just total Prestige dominance on one side vs. level 1 people on the other. And the occasional rare game where I do run into a lobby of scrubs and go 51-7 like last night is a nice little interlude among the sea of my normal 1.0-2.0 KD games--and it is rarely dependent on the prestige level, I find. And I like the taunts, I think they're fun. As long as people remember this is a silly game we play for fun, who cares? People shouldn't be getting offended or emotionally traumatized because I won the game and then did the "point and laugh" taunt at them. I don't derive some sick pleasure out of stomping people, and of course it is way more satisfying to barely win a game against a good opponent than crush a bad one, but I feel like I am an emotionally stable person who derives the normal (average?) amount of enjoyment out of whatever leisure activity I am playing...so yeah. tl;dr I still find COD fun and I am not currently seeing a therapist about it.

I was referring more to the post game lobbies. There really isn't any in game crap going on Also not taking anything serious. If anything, this is the most casual I've ever been with a CoD game. I play a lot of solo and just don't care anymore. Mostly playing to just level guns and get stuff (diamond, etc) that's been fun. As I said, I would like to see more balanced games. All in all, its more that I feel a bit bad for them, the new people. People giving them shit, for what? Playing a game? Maybe my attitude towards them has changed.

I'll also didn't know you can mute everyone. I'll have to look into that, see if it's worth it. I like hearing the occasional random teammate who talks though. I've met a few new gaming friends that way. Can mute only work on one side of teams?

Must be getting some lucky FFA lobbies all found was prestige 2k.d players. Playing CoD solo 96% of my overall playtime has been solo on every CoD. Causal game after all....
Reason why been using various guns is down to Christmas noobs and may try get the knife gold next.

I personally love the xmas noob lobbies. BO3 is just unplayable to me whenever try-hards with dead silence enter the lobby. I don't want "barnburner, down to the wire" gameplay. That is something that completely ruins CoD for me. I have never had fun with a close game of CoD; only extreme stress. It needs to be a one-sided stomp for it to be enjoyable. When it comes to BO3, I only want the challenge to come from gaining all the MP challenges/calling cards in the game, and perhaps fighting against bad players in order to backpack worse players on my team. If I die more than a small handful of times then I am not having fun, period.
But you shouldn't make assumptions like I enjoy bullying people. I feel exactly like you do when it comes to other genres of games that I have played, like fighting games and RTS games. I do not want to play people who are much better or much worse than me in those genres; I want the games to be very evenly matched and down to the wire. But in FPS games, for whatever reason, they are all about the accolades and "going off." When I play BF4 I enjoy getting in an attack chopper with my friend and communicating, flowcharting, and predicting enemy movements in order to get like a 90 killstreak. When I play BO3, I want to call in mothership after mothership, and sound-abuse everyone else while I personally cannot be heard. FPS games can only be fun to me when they are lopsided stomps in my favor, and it has always been this way for me going back to the original Halo days. But playing Killer Instinct or Starcraft? Oh man, I love the e-sports mentality and trying to improve my game. But to me, that same attitude just doesn't generate any fun in my brain for FPS games. And I'm not even close to being alone on this. All of my friends are the exact same way.

2. You're on the wrong platform if you're playing solo that much. I asked him near the beginning if he wanted to play...but SnD isn't everyone's cup of tea and I understand. That said, the door of the 54i is always open. Also my 2 cents: This CoD is has produced almost 50% nice mail and 50% hate mail. Most of the hate mail has come from FFA and SnD players with some combination of zZxXvV in their name.

Playing SnD, it's just a snail's crawl pace. Especially playing with you all, as it's hard to get kills. You guys rarely lose and kill people to fast. Playing evenings, it's been very easy to group up these days. Always a group around to form up with, play Ground War mostly, then Dom. Mornings? that's where all my solo stuff is at. If I get up with the kids at 5:30am...then have an hour or so to kill before work. I'll jump in solo games a lot at this time. I've been doing a lot of FFA lately. Crappy players there. I'll stay there a few games, then get bored and move to Dom. A few games solo there, ...rage a bit, then to something else.

Yeah, I've heard that. Here's the thing...most of my weapons are max level. I'm not sure what the need for weapon XP is? Am I missing something?
I suppose I would need weapon XP if I prestiged them, but right now not sure what the point of prestiging the weapon is either?

Well you said earlier that you needed to level your weapons. :/ Yeah, some of them I do. I have all the main ones done, like the smg's and AR's. What's left is mostly the obscure guns I don't use much that I am trying to get Gold. Some shotguns, sniper rifles, etc... pretty much, all the guns that I will suck at, and be absolutely terrible with while playing SnD.

Each level your gun reaches, you get an XP bonus. So prestiging your weapons allows you to level up faster in multiplayer.

I believe it's whatever level you reach with the weapon, minus 1, multiplied by 100. So for example, reaching level 15 gives you 1400 XP.

Uh...because I'm not really being overly concerned racing to try and be the first person to get to Master Prestige. maybe that's why? I don't really pay a lot of attention to how I am getting my XP. I know the basics. I know I get more playing certain modes, than others (Dom compared to say SnD, for example). But other than that, I'm not fussing over challenges, looking at what needs done, all those type of things. And if you aren't looking in that detail, it would be easy to miss.

But point taken As for bad players point think loads of people are missing an obvious point which is certain gameplay mechanics add degree of randomness.
