tl;dr Best weapons for thermal?
I've been experimenting with smoke and thermal since using the thermal mitigates most of the downsides where the smoke often benefits my enemies more than me and adds the ability to drop enemies who just sit on the other side of the smoke waiting for it. Still more of an objective game strategy, but it's not terrible.
Right now my class is using a KN+Thermal+Quickdraw+Stock and I slapped on Cold Blooded in case enemies are also running thermals. I'm just running double smoke instead of Scav so I don't have to wildcard it in and I figure two smoke per life is probably all I'll get a chance to use anyway.
My theorycrafting on the attachments are that thermal is a little slow to ADS hence the quickdraw and I want to be able to smoke a room then slice the pie at any enemies hunkering down in the back corners, hence the stock. I probably don't need the quickdraw when I have the smoke advantage, but clearly I won't always have it. Still, I could experiment with other things.
Mainly I'm wondering if there are any weapons with thermal that are better for closer and more mobile engagements or should I just drop the AR's entirely and go to one of the snipers? I'm not a great sniper, but it can't be too hard to snipe blind enemies...
I did try using trophy+smoke for Dom, but had little success in pubs. But then I don't play much dom and haven't really got a hang for the flow. I might try that again at some point. Mostly I'm just looking for some interesting niche loadouts for something different from my usual shenanigans.
