I might have a better opinion of Ghosts if it had more than 100 people playing it on PC... I never got it on console.
While I find BO3's crashes to dashboard annoying, plus never being able to host migrate, etc. etc., as someone who grew up with dial up modem multiplayer, there is still a little bit of the current multiplayer environment that I find sort of miraculous. Yes, roll your young supple eyes at my get off my lawn moment. I remember when <200 ping was considered "good." *removes dentures*
Thus I just cannot really gather much anger or bitterness or resentment about the tech aspect other than being mildly annoyed. The maps are the "fun" aspect so I focus on that, personally. I mean, a baseline of "I can fire up my Xbox and instantly play 8v8 deathmatch" is already fucking amazing. Sort of like that Louis CK joke about people complaining about cellphones... "your cellphone doesn't suck, your life sucks around your cellphone."

BO2 had some of the best maps, and the DLC were even better. I thought the DLC maps for BO2 were good because they were simply medium size, simple three lane maps. They did nothing interesting or risky, and didn't have the failures that many of the maps that shipped with the games had. Of course, it's hard for me to separate it from the horrendous other issues I saw with the game.

But most of the disc maps were simple 3 lane maps too so. Whatever.
It all comes down to opinion at the end of the day though. And in my opinion BO2 and BO1 were the only good Cod games that I played while it still had an active player base. I can't really judge MW1,2 and WaW because I only played them after they were dead and hacked.

Sort of like that Louis CK joke about people complaining about cellphones... "your cellphone doesn't suck, your life sucks around your cellphone." But you see, this is an area where the technology clearly regressed. No other title in the series has had as many of these simple problems. One of my lasting memories of the game will be how frequently we spent 5-10 minutes just trying to get everyone into a party so we can play. I'll remember all of the times I sat in the pregame lobby unable to do anything because my UI disappeared. I'll remember all of the struggles just trying to get into a match. These aren't issues where I disagree with design decisions or gameplay decisions. Forget about how it's hard to understand why suddenly these issues are happening after 10+ years of building upon the same system; it's inexplicable that these issues went unfixed when it's hard to imagine any other developer not patching these issues within the first month of launch.

And I never had those problems in BO2, BO1 sure, but when I tried to play with a friend in MW2 one time it took forever to get into a party. I had way more problems trying to party up in MW3 and AW than any other game. And that was for just two people to join.
And BO1 and 2 both took strides forward, maybe not in every aspect but in better ways than MW3, AW, and BO3. Ghosts may have done perks better and a larger minimap, but adding new kill streaks means nothing to me, especially when they sucked. In fact the last game that I thought added the most was BO1.

Yeah I won't argue with you there. I play almost exclusively solo so my issues are limited. Even solo I do notice that Treyarch inexplicably reintroduces issues seemingly resolved in earlier COD's, which makes no sense. Does IW not share their netcode or something? Can't Activision just make them all use the one that worked last time or something?

DenK bros rolled face in Ghosts. Easily had a 90% win as a group PS4-side.

The one thing that seemed awkward is that the player loses all momentum when shooting the grapple.

So there's some leaks out now. Activision's not happy about it either.

Someone leaked some really cool footage of COD: Remastered. Apparently you can play it yourself today, FOR FREE.

As revealed by Drift0r's recent videos, it's now pretty much confirmed that Infinite Warfare is a pay-to-win game, with four tiers of weapon variants per gun, available through a Black Market-type system. And they aren't just different--the higher the tier, the more "weapon perks" you can attach to the gun, and thus the better the gun. The top tier actually has perks available to just that tier.
So, yeah, Foxtrot this game, Foxtrot it right in the asshole. I wouldn't play this game if it was given to me for free.
Edit: I should add that Drift0r also explained a sort of crafting system that will alternatively allow you to build these higher-tier weapons; however, he also said we should expect it to take a significant amount of time to do so.
Edit 2: I should also add that the "pay-to-win" remark is all mine, based upon what has become standard operating procedure within the CoD franchise. If there is a loot crate/supply drop/black market system in place, Activision is going to monetize it.

There's no way they're going to abstain from taking cash from the whales, don't expect any changes. If you wanna play, get the basic stuff, and sell the game within two months, which should be just before they start monetizing the black market/supply drops again.

Spent like 20$ back before they released exclusive weapons and then 10$ a few days ago for the pro team camo pack. But it's irrelevant whether I've spent 0 or 100.
