Nightfall: The Wretched Eye

3 NF's and a strike last night
Strike was the Nexus with the Aegis and neither of my partners knew how to use the Aegis to take down its shield. Plus it's a voidgasm in that fight so I died more in that one strike than I did all of last week. The Weekly treasure box was nice, as it gave me 2 chest pieces and a horn
First nightfall was fun... got on with some fun guys from Arizona who were super chill but maintained focus. I should have friended them; they had a good time, but didn't waste time. NF rewards were a 400 Hereafter and Gold Bounty reward was a 400 TDYK with exhumed and rodeo? Uggggggh!
2nd Nightfall was the best of the bunch... got on with a friend of the DenBros, Mr. Woods and despite having to redo the Nightfall because we wiped with the rando, it was still the best, as I got 20 SC from the NF and from the gold a Shadow Price and finally, the icebreaker!!!! Let any be known throughout all the lands: no one keeps PoloMarkoPolo Icebreakerless for 13 Nightfalls in a row!!!!! The rando even got his IB sent to postoffice. I friended him, he was a good guy. Lots of other r/fireteam randos would have bailed after wiping, but he stuck around and was a good $hit about it.
3rd NF... I was too happy to get my icebreaker to pay attention... I did it with the rando again and a guy who sounded like a the perfect blend of California Surfer Stoner with a Jamaican accent. I can't explain it better than that; I probably died 2 or 3 times just because his accent and speech was so intriguing. I got 20 more SC and an LDR from the gold bounty.

Made some space in my vault so any vendot that will acerpt them will get my Spinmetal. I think I got the best roll for the New Monarchy sniper rifle anyway. I have two both with Shortgaze, Clown Cartridge, and Hidden Hidden. They differ with the first perk, one has Quickdraw while the other has Snapshot.  |

I continue to be impressed at how disappointed I am with Xur every week. I am proud of myself for having high hopes every week. Not sure what I am hoping for. But I am never disappointed in my expectation to be disappointed.

But I am never disappointed in my expectation to be disappointed. That's because Xur's role has changed in your guardians life. I'm sure you were, at one point, very excited for Xur's wares. I'm sure you ran as many weeklies as you could to get strange coins and hoped you could do it before he left to buy them. You didn't have many coins, so you had to worry whether or not to waste your exotic slot on a heavy. Then, as your collection grew, you used Xur for improvements to your exotic collection... yes, you had a piece of gear, but it was such a horrible roll that you wanted to buy a better one. So, I'm sure you waited for Xur to see if he was selling an upgraded model of your collection. Now, that you have a lot of exotics that were god tier, you wanted a better chance of getting the new ones.... so you popped goodies to help with that, and farmed certain bosses that helped to drop those exotic bonbons... and you cursed Bungo left right and centre when certain ones that you wanted were time gated. And now that you've killed Time Lords, Hive Gods, and Cabal McDickfaces... Xur has little to nothing to give you anymore. I mean, sure... go nuts on some Heavy ammo synths for rep, or Glass Needles to get your perfect roll build. And can you ever really have enough Three of Coins? But do you need to buy Bad Juju when you have 3 of them already? But you have to remember: there still are number guardians, who have saved and scrimped their butt off, who only have blue gear with a purple here or there, and wondering if they should get that Bad Juju or not. And if there are any who are reading this: ab-so-f$$king-lutely, you should. Remember Guardians: Just because you don't piss your pants anymore, doesn't mean you should ever be disappointed in the absorbency of those Pampers. Xur has, does, and always will have a place in the Destiny world. |
