T12 Stuff for the mixmaxers... because what else is there to do really? There's not much but I guess a few things can include: Farm for a God roll Palindrome (same perks as the vendor one except with Icarus as the first perk) Farm for a 1000-Yard Stare with Triple Tap, Casket Mag, and Spray and Play Farm for a God roll Eyasluna Farm for a God roll Matador/Party Crasher +1 Ice Breaker Dawning armour set Nanophoenix Chasing Infinity and Queen's Wrath armour Okay, it is scraping the barrel. I'm mainly trying for the white weapon skin for Ice Breaker and the full Dawning armour set mainly for the shader. Pity the Radiant Treasure choices are Combined Arms or Salvage. I only play Crucible when it is Mayhem now. Had someone try to shotgun ape me in Mayhem and my Queenbreaker's Bow said NOPE. I can get over 70 rounds with that fusion rifle.

Farm for a God roll Palindrome (same perks as the vendor one except with Icarus as the first perk) Sigh.... Guess which guy got this as a reward, then said "Icarus? Pfffff... this is just like the vendor roll but crappier! TRAAAAASH!!!" and broke it down. And not even for glimmer, because I was maxed. And not even for marks, because I was maxed. Yup: weapons parts. God roll Palindrome for weapon parts.

What else did Polo do last night... 1. Nightfall where I got 5 SC and a 400 warlock cockring. Karma for laughing at Brad and his towel last week I guess. The sunrise bounty gave me a decent Angel Advocate SR though.... 2. Play Supremacy with TheHawkNY and got my butt kicked. It probably had more to do with his party chat members and their horrible conversations than my incompetence (at least, that's what I'm going with) 3. Hawk took off and the game put me back in my regular SBMM set, and I actually did well. Got my primary kills quite quickly. Got the Supremacy one done and got a solar Unending Deluge, so now I have one in every flavour of the elemental rainbow 4. Went on a nice winning streak and got the 10 wins in Supremacy for the Book. Now I just need to do the raid (sigh) and do the Outbreak Prime quest (double sigh) 5. Switched characters and did one more NF... got a The Stag and a 2015 Emote treasure that gave me the Booyah emote. Now I have to play Salvage (hahahahahhaha no) or Combined Arms (never done it, so yes) to get a radiant treasure and hopefully get the Crystaline Boots or warlock bond to complete the set. And hopefully one more NF. Question to all: If you got the Icebreaker to drop from the Sunrise bounty, will it drop on the other characters (like say, the Thorn Bounty) or if you get the Icebreaker once, you can't get it again?

With the weapons update that's coming up (whenever the foxtrot it is coming out) what is a godroll might not be. I'm delibrately clearing out junk and keeping other weapon architypes just in case... heavy hitting scouts and AR's, speedy shooting AR's, who knows what will happen? Any guesses exxtrooper?

My guess is:
- a slight balancing to reduce shotgun prevalence/dominance (either reduction in range or increase in pellet spread - they should be OHK, but not from across the map) - a slight buff for ARs - a nerf for HCRs and/or flinch - a nerf to grenade tracking (skip grenades are just stupid unstoppable)
Wouldn't mind: - maybe a slight buff to high impact pulse rifles - maybe a bigger/legit buff to high impact ARs
Really, if they just tied flinch to impact (so flinch increases with impact), that would help.

Would it help if you could shoot the grenades that skip? I'm mainly thinking about Axion Bolts for Warlocks; Skip grenades can just have their range nerfed.
They can change the meta as much as they want:, but the gold standard will always stay the same: No Land Beyond + Ophidian aspects + the Wormwood and it's all over now, baby blue.

I've never bothered to try NLB. Like, I've never fired a single round. Hmmmm. Maybe I need to try something new...

You already can shoot Axion Bolts, it's just difficult to do so.
With the weapons patch, there will still be a small number of weapon archetypes that are overpowered - otherwise there would be nothing to grind for. I'm guessing they make changes to a bunch of weapon types, many of them inconsequential. I'm guessing: - Shotguns will be nerfed similarly to the Universal Remote nerf, which was fairly successful - Nominal AR buff - Scout rifle buff to make scout rifles the new meta - maybe increased aim assist or more flinch - They'll do something about Hand Cannons, but god knows what it is. Maybe they'll address ghost bullets, which is just ADS spread and in many other franchises and why do people still complain about this, you're not that good, they just have crazy aim assist. Sorry I'm just tired of reading stupid threads complaining about it on Reddit. - Maybe something to nerf Grasp/Clever Dragon, but not so much they're not still the best pulse archetype - Fusion rifle changes to make the Saladin's Vigil the best by a ridiculous amount. It served its purpose in getting people to do Archon's Forge, and is no longer necessary. Maybe have you spawn with a few shots. - Sidearms - spawn with a little more ammo, or increase range slightly - Snipers - dear lord, please reduce the Aim Assist while moving. You shouldn't be able to pop out from behind cover, snipe someone, and go back behind cover before you even appear on the enemy's screen.

I think it depends how often you fire the Palindrome off the ground because Hand Cannons are fairly accurate with mid-air accuracy. The Icarus perk is sought after by sweats because of the importance of the vertical game, and it makes headshots much more likely while performing shots mid-air. There's not much but I guess a few things can include: Farm for a God roll Palindrome (same perks as the vendor one except with Icarus as the first perk) Farm for a 1000-Yard Stare with Triple Tap, Casket Mag, and Spray and Play Farm for a God roll Eyasluna Farm for a God roll Matador/Party Crasher +1 While it is something to do, is it worth it? With the weapons update that's coming up (whenever the foxtrot it is coming out) what is a godroll might not be. I'm delibrately clearing out junk and keeping other weapon architypes just in case... heavy hitting scouts and AR's, speedy shooting AR's, who knows what will happen? Any guesses exxtrooper? We don't know the exact weapon tuning that will happen. It's going to be difficult to see how the Party Crasher +1 and Matador 64 are going to be 'balanced' in trying to get other shotgun archetypes when the shorter ranged shotguns have no use in the Crucible. The only thing I can see is if they buff primary weapons so people cannot recklessly charge enemy players knowing they can tank a bucket load of bullets and still get the kill. Shotguns only became prominent because of the nerf to other special weapons, most of the maps favouring CQC, the reduction in special ammo, and the filtering down of the meta from sweats. I doubt the 1000-Yard archetype will get nerfed further and that's more for collection purposes since the raid sniper rifle is just as good, if not better. People barely use the Longbow Synthesis any longer and current level LDRs can only be acquired from Vanguard rank ups. Plus, a decent rolled But Not Forgotten is much more easily attainable anyway. The update will probably be in April so I guess it depends how much time you're willing to put in. I only occasionally farm strikes when the Heroics have nice modifiers so that bounties and one rep booster means one rank up, if not more. Otherwise, I just play for the Treasure of the Dawning box and Mayhem. If you have decent enough weapons, it's probably not worth farming for gear.

- Shotguns will be nerfed similarly to the Universal Remote nerf, which was fairly successful By successful you mean barely used any more? If people want shotguns to OHK at pissing range they could just play COD. I'd love to use my Comedian in the Crucible but the range sucks despite the faster rate of fire. If we had room clearing as a thing in PvP I could see the use where maps like Exodus Blue might come in handy like clearing B. But the range nerfs to all of the shotguns means this won't happen. If the playerbase stopped dropping out of the larger maps like Bastion, players will be tested across their proficiency of special weapon use across the board instead of defaulting to shotguns because every map overly favours CQC. You know what this sounds like? COD - complain about shotguns, vote for Nuketown. - They'll do something about Hand Cannons, but god knows what it is. Maybe they'll address ghost bullets, which is just ADS spread and in many other franchises and why do people still complain about this, you're not that good, they just have crazy aim assist. Sorry I'm just tired of reading stupid threads complaining about it on Reddit. I guess this partly because some big name Destiny players have complained about them. Everything else has been complained about, whether it's lag, drop rates for Nanophoenix, Matador and Party Crasher's OHK range, Shinobu's Vow, Amanda Holliday not selling the teal Slipper Misfit, AFKers during strikes, repeating modifiers for this week's Heroic strikes, SBMM and inter-continental matchmaking in single lobbies, New Monarchy not accepting Spinmetal since Rise of Iron was released etc. - Snipers - dear lord, please reduce the Aim Assist while moving. You shouldn't be able to pop out from behind cover, snipe someone, and go back behind cover before you even appear on the enemy's screen. You're complaining about aim assist in a Bungie made game. Really? You will see the aim assist is strong with most weapons. What you are describing appears to be lag and/or the low tick rate that Destiny has. If you think it's because Bungie is hand-holding then I agree, but there are plenty of other things in the game that can be labelled that (guns with minimal recoil, timers on special and heavy boxes, global SBMM etc).

Man, what a time for my headset to give up the ghost.
Still managed to get the void crucible kills and final strike parts of the Thorn quest done...without audio. Much like the year 1 version of that quest, I now have a newfound appreciation for a weapon class I didn't initially care for (fusion rifles for the year 1 Thorn quest, sidearms this time around).

wings I know it's a latency issue. I also know that after 2.5 years of terrible latency issues that they haven't addressed at all, they're not going to be fixed. I think lowering the aim assist while moving with a sniper is a decent solution in that regard.

Wanna a challenge? Wanna go way back? Do what I did last night: forget my mobile device at school and have to go to the tower to get weapons, armour... just like Y1 without Ishtar Commander.
Absolute hell.
Anywho... I got my 3rd NF done with a bunch of guys who couldn't understand the concept of not jumping so my shoulders and back were a bit sore carrying them. And then they were disappointed that I wouldn't do another one with them (lululul)
Did a match of combined arms... that was fun and I got the prototype ornament for the Truth (which would be nice if I didn't already have the Gold one that is perhaps the best in the game) Got a lot of decent rolled 385 gear that I couldn't evaluate because of Ishtar being at work. Arg.
Oh, and I got the NM sparrow, so now I have all 3 faction sparrows

I think lowering the aim assist while moving with a sniper is a decent solution in that regard. I do think the aim assist is ridiculously strong but I've gotten used to it. You could nerf their aim assist as it would be one nerf that wouldn't affect PvE much. A commonly used sniper rifle in PvE in year 1 was Efrideet's Spear, which basically had very little of it and PvE players often used the Ambush scope (I did) that reduced it further.

Bungie has show they have a sort of reverse spaghetti balance going on (throwing it at the wall seeing what sticks) meaning just about anything can happen. For all I know we might get a 0.017% increase in base damage which translates to basically fuck all so anyones guess as to what is going to be the meta is as good as mine. I'd just keep as many archetypes with as many configurations as possible, then when the patch hits wait for things to settle down, don't jump on any big youtubers "this gun is amazing now" hype train without doing proper research first.

I do hope fusion rifles have their charge time reduced. They are a fun weapon type and will keep shotguns in check, but their audio cue and slow recharge time are easy enough to counter against shotgunners who have ears, except Plan C. Would like to use Saladin's Vigil more often.

IF it were reduced too much, then people would start complaining about FR instead of SG's. And let's be truthful: regardless of the meta, or nerfs or buffs or whatever, Fusion rifles will always get nerfed. They're the redheaded stepchild of the Destiny world.

Saladin's Vigil is a decent fusion rifle but I don't see it much used in relatively higher level play. And by that, I don't mean streamers who participate in sweats, but just above average skilled players. Perhaps it's the 1 in 100 drop rate it has to drop from Archon's Forge, but a lot of the time I use it, the charge time is too slow on the majority of maps that are in rotation. I'm thinking of a reduction in recharge time by about 30% so they don't charge too long in slightly less cramped maps, while the most claustrophobic maps will still favour shotguns. I suspect many skilled players would opt for Plan C and Queenbreaker's Bow for their fusion rifle choice. A lot of people who complain about shotguns end up putting themselves in CQC where shotguns ought to be dominating, and bail on maps that offer ranged engagements, which is why we haven't had Bastion as a map in Iron Banner for two years or whatever it is now. I don't have any pity for those players. These are the people who cry over shotguns in Call of Duty so they get nerfed continuously across iterations, yet vote for the most claustrophic maps that the game offers like Nuketown.

Saladin's Vigil drops pretty frequently and any roll is pretty good. It's by far the best FR, they need to bring the other ones up to its level. This week in Trials, I got excited every time I saw a team all running Matadors, because I knew I'd shred them with it before they got anywhere near me.
