Played the Open Beta for several hours, cleaning up the whole first area and exploring the second much more interesting area a bit. It's quite enjoyable, even if my PC is only just enough to run it at 60FPS 1280x720 on lowest settings. I'm not sure where all of this talk about bad vehicle controls and floaty gunplay is coming from. Both are very tight. I wouldn't be surprised if all the complaints are coming from those trying to fire full auto and attempting hairpin turns at full speed. Games really need to have mandatory speedometers. Collision physics on vehicles are rather cruddy, but that only comes into play if you're crashing into stuff.

Unfortunately it reminds me more of Mercenaries 2 than the original, which was a great game.
On the bright side after battling through some stupid tech issues, the Open Beta runs a million times better than the Closed Beta did, and I'm actually having a little fun with it.
I'm not sure if you can actually suck at flying helis in this game. The game basically doesn't let you fly them. Probably the worst helicopter controls I've ever seen in a game. They should have just copied the controls from Battlefield. I'm still not planning on buying it, but maybe if I get a chance to do some co-op with friends later it might reel me in.

I did have one strange incident where I was flying along in the helicopter and it just went into a death spin for no reason. It looked like a canned animation. For some reason it also acts super weird if you try to throttle up and move forward at the same time. It's easy enough to fly around with just basic controls pressing one direction at a time but it's super weird. It's not fun to fly at all. And they're kind of slow.
Another weird control thing on PC, the mouse sensitivity settings do absolutely nothing. The only way I'm getting different sensitivity is to screw with my DPI.
I can't even remember how aim in 75% of ny engagements because all of my fps life has been spent using l1 and r1 to aim and shoot. I did one mission then it was nighttime and I couldn't see who was killing me so I got mad and pkayed Destiny with Hawk.
Depending on the price, I might actually buy this game. I really liked it

I enjoyed it, however cookie-cutter it was. The character creation was my favorite part, lots of cool options. The lack of being able to change the controller scheme was brutal, as were the helicopter controls. I might pick it up for $20 down the road when it inevitably tanks.
Did the preload action, made my ghost, bought the G36C from the store (they gave me 500 credits and it was 400) and did the first 2 missions to find and rescue Anaru, so I could get the sniper rifle.
Game is playing very smoothly; driving was MUCH more forgiving... pedestrians don't deliberately try to kill themselves in front of you. Didn't have the chance to fly because a Rando blew up the heli (I can't be too mad at him because he's used to ADS being l1 instead of grenade... like me)
get the g36 (or whatever it's called) it's quite a nice gun. The Iron sights suck, but on the first mission, you unlock the RDS for AR's so really, you have to use the Iron sights for 5 kills. And if you don't want to, you can run up and stealth kill 'em.
Ran around the first province with a the computer AI.
If you played the beta, there's no major noticeable changes that I've seen - Cars driving is a bit smoother, imho.... one bump doesn't send you down a mountain side - Friendly AI could be a bit smarter, but in the beta, I never ran with the friendly AI... enemy AI was unchanged - Helis are still a pain in the ass to fly... and the airplane is fun to do barrel rolls in ;> but flying it is neigh impossible for me - Unidad soldiers still wreck you - I didn't see many glitches that I saw in the beta (enemies being stuck in walls/rocks/buildings) so they can be alerted by your presence and cause you to be detected, but not killed... because, you know: they're in a rock.
Again... if you liked the beta, you'll like the game.
Polo's review: It's like you're putting on a ironed dress shirt; if you like the shirt, the fabric, and the feel of it... you'll like the game. If you didn't like the beta, you won't like this game.

Yet I've read a lot of stuff where guys who were down on the demo have turned around with the full release.
I know... god forbid a free beta not be as good as a final released product.
Anywho... Brad and I ran around Bolivia with... can we call him a squeeker brad? He wasn't horrible and nothing nearly as bad as what CoD or Destiny had for squeekers... we got stuff done, basically geared up. Drove around, got killed, killed a lot, tagged and bagged drug dealers, ran each other over with a bunch of cars.... fun times.
