Hit 540, so I guess I am theoretically raid ready? Haven't done a Nightfall yet and haven't done a raid or a lair since Leviathan. Haven't even done a prestige Leviathan. Looks like I still have lots of work to do...
You are but the latter encounters are obviously going to be more tough as you go along. There's no point going back to the Leviathan unless you're after Midnight Coup, Inaugural Address, or the Legend of Acrius catalyst.
"Guns and bombs don't kill people. Clever scientists who want to build a better method of destruction kill people - lots of them. Most of my Gears couldn't make anything more lethal than a blade or a bow. So you'll forgive me if I think it stinks that my Gears get your "baby-killer" crap and your educated colleagues get research grants. And that's before you start inventing other shit you can't control." - Victor Hoffman.

Ranks will be reset tomorrow (tuesday 27-11) at reset. So if you want to get that 2nd reset done, you might have some grinding to do. If you don't complete it though, you will still be at 1 reset for gambit, so you only need 1 more reset to get the bad omens. But you have to start that reset all from scratch, hope that makes sense.

Of course Ursa Furiosa gets nerfed and One Eyed Mask and Nova Warp remains untouched. Got to protect the idiots who keep shooting the shield I guess.

I think the in between quests should be a little altered over the current version (kill x majors with heavy, kill x majors, get auto rifle kills etc). I would have prefered for it not to be a "get on youtube and find the perfect spot to grind this" kind of grind. I would have prefered for it to force you in an activity with it. Like complete a strike with an auto rifle equiped, and get 25 kills with an auto rifle. Same for crucible etc etc. More fun and natural.
The force itself is a blast imho. Finally a challenging PvE activity that isn't the raid. First clear was on 605, doable but hard. Now at 628 it is pretty easy but still not an auto win.
Use a shotgun, smg/pulse/HC and a LMG would be my advice. Novabomb with dire ahamkara, Orpheus tether and lunafaction gracelock would be my picks for subclasses. Personally I use redrix (got a high one to drop) + badlander (got a high one to drop, ikelos works too) and the forge LMG.
I haven't played the raid yet. But the best thing about the dlc is imho, the fact that being 600 did still mean something the moment the DLC hit.
I tried the forge. Utterly toasted at 600. Now grinding slowly back to a level. I quite like the grind. It’s a sense of achievement when it’s pings up a level. I’m running out of cores though all the time. Pita. Trying to earn the breakneck but that’s a long one. Not even a quarter though on games played but that’s on two characters. I play both for the other bounties and level grind. It appears a bad use of time to do both but I’m sure it isn’t. It takes me the week just to complete the daily and weekly challenges for two. If I just focused on gambit alone one would lag behind a lot.
I was having a hard time playing with random dropped weapons and armor too, but honestly, you really need to do so. I hate and love it at the same time. I used Duke, redrix, badlander and a sleepless a lot past week, which I otherwise would have never used at all.
What I did in forsaken is safe the best roll of every weapon I get, even if I don't like the weapon. The other day I got a high light absolutely horrible rolled duke, but I had a rampage + outlaw duke in my vault. Still far from my favorite weapon, but it did fine in the forge. Same goes for armor pieces (although I certainly don't save one of each). I wouldn't infuse until you are really forced to (aka you need your whisper or sleeper to be upgraded to a usable light level in the new raid). I think you are on my friends list but I think we have very different playing times. If you see me on send me a message I will give you a quick carry through the forge if you want to. Once you get that LMG, you should have a nice bump in light level to progress further, and it is a very nice gun to use.

Ok. I’ll ping you a message. Currently near enough to 610. Should be doable. Thanks!
Got Gwisin Vest, Trinity Ghoul, and Queenbreaker yesterday.

610 you will be absolutely fine to just matchmake into the forge! Make sure you are looking for a heavy weapon at that point if you want to level efficiently. Pretty fun activity
Izanami pulse totally replaced my outlaw+rampage go figure and right side of wrong. I got one with a low zoom sight, drop mag, zen moment, and rampage. It’s a beast for PvE.

I still have yet to do a forge. Tried it with matchmaking yesterday, didn't go so well. I might as well grind milestones for a few more days before I try it again.
Mayhem's been a bit rough (or at least it seems that way when I'm not using Blade Barrage or Nova Warp), though at least the matches are over quickly. One positive is that it makes getting the Weekly Crucible milestone easier.
I'm so far away from doing Forge... I think I'm up to around 570 LL. Haven't done any Nightfalls or Raiding. Just can't convince myself to do LFG, and The100 hasn't had much that fits my schedule.

Matchmaking can be hit and miss but I wonder how much this is down to players not seeking a public event flag to fully refill ammo before entering a Forge. For some reason Bungie didn't bring over ammo crates from D1 to D2.
If you're running a Hunter, a Gunslinger using Celestial Nighthawk might make a few Nova Warp Warlocks salty.

I’m at 650 and still haven’t done any year 2 raids if that makes you feel any better. The game is at a point where there’s generally more to do in a week than I have time for.
I've done three runs of Last Wish and completed it once. I'm finding there's plenty to do without raiding and my previous raid team kinda disintegrated and the loot system has put me off from hosting raids. I still do all the weekly content with the same two players from my previous clan each week and we all joined the same clan upon leaving our previous one and it's really active and has players we've played with before. I just haven't gotten round to hosting my own raids because I'm farming other stuff like the Forge for a good rolled Kindled Orchid, Tatara Gaze etc. I got the curated Nation of Beasts from Morgeth on my completed run, which was my third time for that encounter so I figured my luck was all used up. Probably explains why I still haven't had the One Eyed Mask to drop for my Titan and it's the only exotic my Titan doesn't have and I've had three exotic engrams drop in the wild and they were all dupes.

Wonder how many team wipes by an invader happen that don't use Queenbreaker these days just because I managed to do this. Yes it's PvE but I imagine the hitbox size is done on the gun's end rather than the target?

A question for the boffins on here, does heavy ammo finder stack with rocket launcher scavenger?
No.
