Why use akimbo in mw2 when it makes the area >5x bigger?

USP Akimbo has standard melee times, it just always uses the stab animation.

Akimbo is great with the handguns and the two shotguns that get it. Questionable with the submachine guns (more novelty there). Glocks and the Rafficas are the best and can tag those from a good distance, even without Steady Aim.

I preferred a single Raffica, because there's nothing better than a pistol with the damage profile of the M16A4.

The single 1887 was a unwieldy SPAS that was slower. At least Akimbo had power, which offset the spread. The patch relegated it to specific maps though. And it required a full rush playstyle with Marathon or use in S&D.

Shout out to fourDeltaOne which had the unpatched 1887 for a year before it was shut down.

I've always liked the 44 over the Raffica single, mainly for style. Iron sights weren't the greatest on the m93 (but it was mainly the flash that was the problem, and wasn't the sight actually off on it (might have been with an actual sight though, not irons)?

The BO2 pistols were pretty good imo. But yeah, they've otherwise been pretty shit.

The BO2 R870 w/ Laser and KSG w/ Laser both have the same otk potential which is weird. I do not see anything wrong with the formula however so I guess it is true.

Damn. Akimbo Rangers were a personal favorite. Only using one at a time made it much more useful imo. Double the capacity, half the reload time (in theory anyway)

Akimbo rangers are sort of decent on skidrow, but the 1887s are universally ass. I'll never understand why they went so overboard with the nerf

Also, what's with the rekindling of mw2 discussions - have I missed something about a remaster or backwards comp
