Nothing says "I love the crucible" like having your orb seasoned, danced, and teabagged by a big, pink Titan. Nothing. How did bradman manage to teamkill you? He didn't kill me... what are you talking about? I'm trying to figure out what "seasoned" means there but I'm not sure I want to Teh salt bae exotic emote... and it is exotic for sure

Your fighting abilities, not your power levels, will decide the outcome
Bounties and Ranks have been replaced with an Iron Banner Engram
How can you compete?
Complete the Destiny 2 campaign – the only way to reach the Tower
Visit Lord Saladin in the Tower to begin the Iron Banner Quest
Fight in the Iron Banner playlist with Quickplay modes and matchmaking
What’s in it for you?
Earn Iron Banner Tokens in every match (earn more if you win)
Daily and Season* Milestones that track your progress to glory
Claim brand new armor wrought in the forges of the Iron Lords Here's what you'll look like
Even if you hate PVP, that's okay because The Prestige Raid drops next reset tooFrom Bungo: We do not expect everyone to be successful in completing this activity. Mechanical changes to the encounters are minimal, but they are there. The Prestige Raid is about mastering a more punishing sandbox. Our goal is not to provide a boon to your character progression, but there are unique rewards to help you shine. Consider this your invitation to prove to the world that you are among the very best of the Raiders who overlook the City.
World First will be counted. We can tell you no more.
Good luck!
Deej also encourages you to be nice and befriend a randoMy challenge to every Guardian is to look to the human element in Destiny 2 to fuel your appetite for ultimate re-playability. The ultimate loot is the friendships that can grow out of a game like this. There will be more gear to add to your character (next week, even). The rewards that I’m talking about are the people in the community that thrives in this game. If you let them, they’ll make your hobby as a light-dealing hero on a starside campaign for glory even better

Man, r/DTG is an absolute Foxtroting salt mine today. Deej really pissed a bunch of people off with that "friends are the ultimate loot" quip about the endgame. I get that it was just him sharing a personal story, but it comes off as so tone-deaf toward the Touch Football community it's almost unbelievable that made it to print. Ya know, Deej, you're kind of right. Basically all my XBL friends are from this board and/or people I played D1 with at some point or another. The problem is that the D2 endgame is so gosh darn golly gee whiz shallow that half those people aren't even logging on routinely, and the ones that do are there for a Nightfall or two and that's about it. And that's exactly one month in. There's no carrot to chase, no reason for the Touch Football to keep coming back every week. Power level is all but meaningless, raid loot drop frequency is crap plus there's no unique perks, prestige raid loot is just a gold reskin of regular, and so on. PvP is really the only endgame at this point, but seemingly nobody I'm friends with actually enjoys PvP. It's great that they made things easier for the casual player, but in typical Bungie fashion they swung the pendulum way to far in the opposite direction from where it was. This game is going to be a ghost town in another couple weeks unless something changes dramatically.

This game is going to be a ghost town in another couple weeks unless something changes dramatically. I was going to post this too.... I dunno if you read his reply to the masses but here it is: Reddit, that was a personal note from me about a nice moment I had with a long-lived friend of mine, not an official statement about Bungie's attitude about the endgame. I've always been a community guy. That's why I play games. Anyone who knows me knows I'm not an elite Raider or a 1%er in the Crucible. Games are another social outlet for me - a collaborative, tactical roleplay for an old improvisational actor who has always loved action movies. Destiny is a social game, and we have a lot of new players in our community who have never joined a Clan or opened their experience to another human voice. My personal story was as a positive example to inspire them to take a chance on us. If you seek more reasons to play, I'll see you in Iron Banner next week. If Crucible isn't your thing, good luck in the Prestige Raid. I'll sit that out. When the designers tell me they don't expect everyone to complete that, I know what they mean. Peace. This whole thing just reminds me of the whole "winter thank you present" in year 1 that was a purple weapon/armour and Reddit started to get pissy because Reddit rumourwhored that it was going to be a gjallie and everyone was disappointed. Honestly, I'm begining to treat reddit more and more like a news site, where I look for article about what/when/how to do something over "OMG WTF BUNGO?!?!??!?!" and I rarely check the comments section anymore (thought I do reply too) and I just leave the opinion pieces to themselves. But yea... it's hella salty right now

Decided to dip my toes with a second character, still waiting to nail down NF's, and still looking to finish the Raid. Iron Banner coming up. So for me, I don't see myself getting bored for a while. No chance of boredom in the next month. So I'm not getting the hate. But then again, I'm a bit behind most all of you.

Not only are they going to leave, they ain't buying DLC or stuff from Eververse.

Why are level advantages disabled in IB?

I've been saying this was going to happen. Not only are they going to leave, they ain't buying DLC or stuff from Eververse. Yes they will. As soon as the new DLC annouced the new end game stuff, they'll go Caballs deep again. Addicts gonna addicts. This first part of the game was all about hooking new players... the DLC will be meat back on the menu for them, as well as the grinders. This way, Reddit can jerk it saying "we made bungie do what we wanted" This way, Bungie can jerk it saying "we gave you what you wanted" new players can have their fun because it's what they expect Old players can grind it because they have something to grind for It's a quadruple win for everyone. Oh yea... activision makes a shit load of money too Why are level advantages disabled in IB? because that's what the new players are used to in the Crucible? quick matches aren't level advantaged... right?

Nothing is level-advantaged in Crucible anymore, not even Trials.
