I saw driftor get a OSOK medal with it but he was literally touching the guy and I couldn't see what attachments he had. Quickscoping was in literally every lobby on PC at launch and it lasted a really long time. It's still pretty common now but at least it's not in every lobby. It's so easy even I can do it pretty well.

He definitely had Choked Barrel on though, it's the only way to get a one hit kill on a full health enemy.

The Titan's not bad but I wish it could use steady aim. It's nice to be able to take out streaks really fast again without a launcher. The pump shotgun is better than i thought it would be but it still sucks.

Playing the PC version actually hasn't been that bad. Had much more fun that I did on PS4. Though it could use some TXAA or something, the AA options they have kill performance more than I would expect. The counter-strike light mode, heist, is kind of fun. But ultimately I don't think that the focus on teamwork and coordination is going to work for COD. It's just not what the playerbase is into.
Blackout is going to make or break this package for me. I'm a bit more upbeat about it now, as they're going to have a beta next month, where I really didn't think they'd be able to ship it at launch, let alone have a beta. And the regular game seems like a reasonably high effort PC port. I still don't think Blackout is going to work on console just because I don't think they'll have the 60 fps frame rate they really need for their type of gunplay, and they're not going to out-PUBG PUBG on the slower more tactical gameplay. But hey, we'll see.
Oh, and the season pass model is still trash. Even if I want new maps and am willing to pay for them, the COD experience is almost always better with just the base maps because of the playerbase fragmentation. Sure, not allowing individual map pack purchases will help *some* but shit... that's a half measure. Did they never watch Breaking Bad?
edit: And the Xbox version played like straight trash. The 6v6 modes were unplayable... everything else wasn't great either. I'm guessing it will be fine for the actual release, at least for the base game. As for BR... good luck Treyarch.

Gave the beta a try.
I'm sort of confused about how some of the mechanics work. (I've read nothing, watched no YT videos, etc.) I have to heal myself, or something? Equipment like the acoustic sensor (I can hear everyone, AND I get a big mini map warning they are near me??) seems "always on" but it's in the same slot as concussion grenades? (Am I not remembering that right?) What is the big circle around me on the minimap? Etc.
It looks and feels sort of fun. I am optimistic. Keeping the sliding and losing the jumping/wall running seems like a good compromise on the snooze fest that is WWII, vs. the crack smoking insanity that is Infinite Warfare. Also "tactical rifles?" Huh? And WHERE ARE THE SHOTGUNS! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?! (I assume this is a beta only omission.)
Almost forgot, good lord is the UI terrible. Does this just get worse and worse every year?

If this game becomes another quickscoping-fest (like WW2) i'm officially done with this game forever.

here comes a wall of text of random thoughts, did hit max level and earn my free unlock token
man I absolutely fell in love with the Rampart 17 and Maddox RFB.. ICR and KN were close in tier 2
good to see some legit AR to choose from, though I hated every SMG
shotguns are officially dead, thought this for a few games now but its cemented with them moving into the secondary slot.. literally no reason to pick up one since they will just get you killed
the launcher proved to be endless fun, whether I was blowing up streaks, people or inanimate objects.. came so close to maxing it out and unlocking the more explosive damage. plan on making a launcher only class to get people to rage (is it the new shotgun?)
jeesus, lost count of the times I was killed attempting to place my sentry/call in the "agr" (another streak that I never got tired of using)
specialists are rather balanced, none seem to powerful or make a HUGE difference in games.. like the team element that comes into play when picking them (though I mainly played solo)
mainly played DOM/HP with the occasional TDM/KC and spawns were rather broken.. left scratching my beard more times then not on why folks were spawning here or there (my team and enemy)
honestly have no idea whom the main culprit for tomfoolery was.. frame rate dropping or issues on the network side
it was nice to see perks and attachments take a back seat to gun-skill.. could play without a single perk/attachment and do fine

At least there isn't leprechauns randomly appearing in the game, granting full killstreaks to whoever kills them.
CoD sucks anymore.

At least there isn't leprechauns randomly appearing in the game, granting full killstreaks to whoever kills them. CoD sucks anymore. Wait wait, what? I hadn't played in a week or more, signed back in a few days ago. The Ground War (8v8) MoshPit playlist that i pretty much only played with this game, was gone. In it's place, as a replacement, was this new 'Leprachaun Mosh Pit' playlist. I was like, WTF is this??? So here's the deal. It's 6v6, random objective games (HP, dom, KC, etc..). When the game begins, every minute or so, this tiny dwarf looking Leprachaun appears running around the map like at 20 mph. Running like mad, taunting people. If you can shoot and kill him (and it takes a ton of hits), you get to instantly fill your killstreak meter, all your killstreaks become instantly available. He is hard to kill, sometimes he shows up and then runs off the map. But other times, he does get killed. And he can keep appearing in the game over and over and over. The good to this? Not much. The only good I see is no one snipes in this playlist, because you can't hit the fvcker enough. The gun to run in this mode is the LMG. Big clips do the job at killing him. The cons? In a game where no one plays the objective, now we have yet another reason to NOT play the objective. This midget guy shows up, everyone on the map just starts chasing him. Objectives, fvck them. So this game mode now just basically turns on killing him. You get the kill, you can instantly dump three HIGH killstreaks on the opponents (everyone runs high killstreaks on this game mode). It quickly turns games on their head. It's really stupid. I played it though, and still do, for the sole reason that quickscoping is of no use in this game mode. .... ...leave it Sledgehammer to use this, Leprachaun Mosh Pit....as their solution to fixing the quickscoping idiocy.

I've played it a couple of times, it can be fun for one or two matches. Get multi kills on the enemy distracted by the leprechaun and they usually ignore the objectives (but I don't).

What in the absolute Foxtrot did I just read? ^^^ this Welcome to what Call of Duty has become. This game just needs to die. But as long as their are millions of upcoming attention deficit disorder tweens filling the ranks of the people who have long left this game, the game is never going to get better. Just keep reducing itself to more of the same, ...gimmicks, loot crates, shiny trinkets for retards and other miscellaneous things that have nothing to do with good, solid FPS gaming.

COD is what it is at this point, which... I mean I guess it's still generating revenue, and Black Ops 4 seems to be tracking strongly...
But you're never going to get a particularly coherent or interesting game out of the COD factory.
Quickscoping is going nowhere as it's ingrained in the, for lack of a better word, culture of COD. From a game design perspective even including sniper rifles in a game like COD hasn't made much sense since the Xbox 360 days as the maps got consistently smaller and 3-laned. With the higher TTK for other weapons quickscoping seems *more* viable for BO4 so uhh... that should be fun. I still don't think it will be an optimal way to play or anything, but it will probably be just that little bit even more annoying.
Aside from bad legacy design problems like the aforementioned quickscoping, they are tacking on whatever is trending. What's this hero shooter business? Add that! What's this Titanfall that's getting some buzz... people seem to like 'advanced movement'... ok we're doing that for the next three games just in case... Destiny has these health bars and this meter you can fill up for an "I win" button, put that in. Hey... Overwatch has a slightly different capture the control point game mode than we do. Sure we already have like 3 of these modes but we should add one that's a little more like theirs. Look at how much money PUBG is making.. we need a PUBG mode... hey look this Fortnite is making even more money we should have one of those... what do you mean it's the same mode?!?! I don't care *what* it is but god dammit when we ship this thing we better have Fortnites and PUBGs in it or head will roll!
Though admittedly... I am a little too interested in their BR mode as I love BR, so if I get a good BR game that's a big win, and if it's a complete disaster I get possibly even more entertainment from watching that train derail. I mean the Destiny 2 backlash was almost as good as having a good Destiny 2... Even though I really wanted an awesome D2! Yeah yeah, I know, I'm a petty cynical Foxtrot!
The only chance something truly new or interesting is coming is when yearly COD finally fizzles out and dies completely and it lies fallow a bit until the eventual completely guaranteed reboot likely plainly titled "Call of Duty". Until then it's going to be trend-chasing and cancerous monetization.
I think of the major publishers Ubisoft is probably doing the best as far as making decent shooters goes. Even though I only really like Siege out of their current lineup, Ghost Recon was boring, and the Division didn't get fixed quickly enough for me to care. But they at least seem to support their games for a decent period of time even if they're not overnight hits and don't shit out instant sequels.
And who knows what the Foxtrot EA is doing... they somehow let COD beat them back to WW2... while putting out a WW1 game... which they're following up a mere 2 years later on with a now way-too-late WW2 game. I guess because it's a little easier to reuse some assets from WW1? And they're not shipping their BR mode day 1... so uhhh... it feels like an afterthought and won't drive sales nearly as much as it otherwise could. Meanwhile the pre-orders by all reports are pretty abysmal and they're planning to roll out the war chronologically... so it's going to ship without the USA or USSR? With the way things are looking now they'll probably pull 'free' content like they did with Titanfall 2 due to lack of players/revenue and we'll just never get a lot of the shit we wanted to go back to WW2 for in the first place! And the game actually looks and sounds pretty good but it seems like the whole gameplan built around it will sabotage it. Titanfall 2 got killed releasing between CODWhateverItWasThatYear and BF1, and now BFV is poised get slaughtered by BOIIIITHEFUTUREISBLACKYETAGAIN and freakin' Red Dead which it somehow managed to sandwich itself between.

Don't see the issue with the Leprachaun game mode; cod will always be a party game to me and game modes that don't take itself too seriously can provide a nice alternative to the normal formulaic game-modes.

It’s not an issue, if you don’t like it, play something else, no big deal..... but for one thing... .....it replaced ground war, the 8x8 mode. That no longer exists now. So no more ground war, and instead Leprachauns. Not a very good trade off.

I've heard from the betas that quickscoping isn't anywhere near as powerful as it is in WW2? Is that true? I didn't play the beta. Red Dead Redemption is going to sell very well i think. Any game by Rockstar is gold. They know how to really put out a game. I still one of Call of Duty's core issues is that they simply do not know how to make a competitive game anymore. In terms of the core, base game of six players taking on six other players in a game mode. Play other games like Pubg, Destiny, ....all twelve players are playing the same game. Playing the game mode. It makes the game fun. But with Call of Duty? As we all have mentioned, there are simply to many distractions in this game anymore, pulling people away from the core process. Now we have loot crate challenges, uniform challenges, Leprachauns, etc... all now heaped on other ongoing issues that have always plagued this game. Things like rampant quitting, love of sniping, etc.. The main reason i don't like playing 6v6 anymore, is almost every game is unbalanced. One, a player now gets put into the lobby late over other game. Typically get into a game, and the B flag is already taken. Nice. First minute of a game, it might be 4v6. Throw in some quitting, it's hardly every evenly matched. At least with 8v8, if a person drops out, it's not quite as noticeable.

I've heard from the betas that quickscoping isn't anywhere near as powerful as it is in WW2? Is that true? I didn't play the beta. I played WW2 for all of 45 minutes so I can't really compare. Maybe there's a huge aim assist discrepancy between the two, I don't know, I didn't use snipers in the BO4 beta aside from the occasional dead-body pick up. But the higher TTK give them a larger window to one-shot bloop you, and, strafing in and out of cover while popping off sniper shots was also more viable as it is a lot harder to spray someone down during the course of their peek. That technique was definitely viable for me using the 2-shots to kill pump shotty actually, which actually seemed pretty decent to me though I didn't enjoy how it was balanced with a dreadful swap time and low ammo capacity. As for getting sick of 6v6, yeah, the base 5v5 when solo queuing didn't feel great for the same reason, 3v5 with TTKs that veer into team-shooting territory... ehhhhhh... It's still an open question as to whether there is any long-term fun to be had for me in BO4. Cheesing people in Heist, while hilarious, was already getting stale after one night. There's always free-for-all... it's hard for other players to ruin that mode for me... really it's the spawn logic's job to Foxtrot it up.

That's the issue with me with Free for All. After a short time of playing it, I sort of lose the fun of just playing the game, and instead become obsessed on memorizing spawn and movement patterns. Which is all FFA is. The game itself becomes lost then. I feel like i am playing old school PacMan... run here, then here, then there, etc..
I forgot about the 5v5 stuff. That's going to suck with the rampant CoD quitting.
