I'm playing at the Microsoft Store right now. Consistently one-shotting from extreme distances.

If you have a Walmart in your area, it frequently offers midnight release on big games with no line, and often a $20 gift-card that outweighs some Gamestop preorder ingame material(depends on game and preorder virtual-goods).

The reason I never do the waiting in line thing is because I've wanted the hardened edition the last 3 titles for one reason or another, I'm not willing to take a chance on not being able to get what I want due to douches who buy limited editions, then hawk em on ebay for $200+.

All the shotguns are awesome. I reckon the Saiga is the best of all the shell shotguns, it's like a BO SPAS with more range (via long barrel), Faster reload, better ADS accuracy and more ammo and extended mags.

Buff the M1216!
No, seriously, it blows.

Courtesy of how badly we described it prior to release, I'm actually pleasantly surprised by the M1216. I find that one tube is generally always sufficient to gain a kill.
Is there any way to manually rechamber? Well, besides reloading.

Is there any way to manually rechamber? Well, besides reloading. Really? I tried it out in combat training and I every time I shot one of the bots I would get four hitmarkers and then die on the re-chamber. >_> Maybe the M1216 just hates me.

How do the slugs on the ksg work?

Had mixed results with the KSG, even in the same game. Sometimes it would one shot from 75 ft and other times I'd get a hit marker at 10 ft. The 870 is solid, but this isn't a game for rushers or shot gunners. Headglitch Ops 2.

Excuse the noob question. I'm not too good with the stat or technical stuff...
Could it be possible that the KSG hitscans are "fatter" than normal hitscans.
I don't know what I'm talking about.

Is the KSG hit scan or projectile BTW? I expected it to be projectile, but not sure.

Unless your long shot was a head shot, this shouldn't happen. Aside from the fact that the slug disappears after so much distance, the KSG is effectively a normal gun, not a shotgun.

I beleive it's possible(certainly possible but not sure within the cod engine) but I highly doubt it. If I'm wrong feel free to correct me.

Anything fatter is a cone of fire. Explosions behave this way.

Is that how explosive hitscans work?
My impression was that explosive hitscans, from say, a chopper gunner behave like hitscans until they hit something. Then they apply their damage across the explosive radius. The hitscan itself is not affected.

I need to test this out still. I became a shotgun player on the original Blops and carried that trend over to Mw3. So far I've really only experimented with SMG classes. (Only level 23 so far)
To score well with a shotgun I feel like you need a greater understanding of the maps/spawns/classes.

That has always been the case with shotguns. More input less out put.

My initial results with the KSG are not good. Compared to MW3, it obviously has much longer range, but with the slugs I've been getting punished if there's any lag whatsoever. Where I used to at least get a hitmarker and have a chance to get off another shot, now I completely whiff and die.
The sound, however, is incredible. It was the best sounding gun in MW3, and it sounds even better in BO2.

When I am using shotguns, I like how they sound like snipers.
When others are using shotguns, I hate how they sound like snipers.

Someone on the COD official forums are already complaining about the shotguns, especially the KSG, and claims that all of them have "too much range".

To score well with a shotgun I feel like you need a greater understanding of the maps/spawns/classes. Well, I think that the map style of MW3 and BO2 (which are very similar to one another) actually favors the use of shotguns quite a bit. On the average MW1/2 map, you'd die at least every other minute trying to cross one of the many huge open areas. Now it's more alleys and corridors. I find that actually navigating the map so that you get into favorable (i.e. close range) engagements is pretty easy now.

Open maps work better for shotguns. Indoors is too close for ACCURATE twitch aiming.
