The M1919 has SMG mobility. Your mobility is always the same regardless of what weapon you have out, unless you take out a Bazooka (I haven't tested the flamethrower yet).

I just realized that I only tested mobility using the heavier weapon as the primary. I will try it with the lighter as the primary tomorrow. But at the very least if you have a heavy weapon as your primary you will always move at .875.

Just did some more testing. You always move at the speed of your primary weapon unless you pull out a bazooka. The flamethrower has no effect on mobility whatsoever in any way.

This is fairly important and Den should probably see it, so bump. And I retested everything. M1919 has SMG mobility. Taking out a Bazooka is the only thing that changes your mobility (besides obvious stuff like crouching, proning, aiming down sights, etc.).

My PC has been busted since last Thursday (posting from my Playstation), but from previous tests, I'm sure that whatever is being held determines base run speed for PC. This may be an oversight or something of the sort and the console WaW has the "speed determined by primary" just as COD4 does.
Tonight or tomorrow... or it may be a few more days until I can get my PC back up.

I certainly believe you on the PC stats, but I have confirmed this on 360 beyond any sort of doubt. I tested and retested and retested.

I guess I'd better test on PS3 at some point for you guys. Den do you have PSN (and a COD game for it?)

Did some brief testing of my own on the 360- nothing too scientific, just putting it through the "smell test". I timed myself walking from one fixed point on Downfall to another while various weapons were equipped... and in all cases, the length of time required depended on the PRIMARY rather than the current equip. Tested with DP/Pistol, DP/Shotgun, Shotgun/DP, and Shotgun/pistol. The trip took about 30 seconds when the DP was my primary, regardless of what was currently equipped, and 25 seconds when the Shotty was my primary, regardless of what was currently equipped. Certainly conforms to the .825 run-speed factor. Did a couple of brief tests with sprinting and got the same results. There's even audio confirmation- when you take steps, the speed at which you travel determines the length of time between audible steps (the slower you're going, the more time before you hear your footsteps). The audible footsteps were always the same speed for primary and secondary weapons.
It's weird to me, because I'm 100% certain that weapon weight affects movement speed in Nazi Zombies mode (try running from a horde with a Browning and then again with a Ray Gun and you'll see what I mean).

Right, so it is certain that movement is based on the primary.

The reason weapon weight affects movement speed in Zombies is because Zombies is co-op campaign, not versus MP. Zombies uses the same stats as singleplayer. Side note: I've been wrecking with the M1919 lately. HMG+Mobility ftw.

Side note: I've been wrecking with the M1919 lately. HMG+Mobility ftw. HMGs don't have high mobility, unless you have Overkill and an SMG as your primary or unless you happen across one lying on the ground. And even then, HMGs will behave "slower" because they take significantly longer to pull up the sights (longer than a sniper, even).

This has been covered elsewhere. The BAR has Rifle running speed, while the FG42 and 30Cal have SMG speed..

I never saw anybody say that the .30 cal had SMG speed.
