Halo Reach Arena Gameplay with Commentary

Not bad, pretty informative for people that wish to try and improve, particularly in the decision making area of their game.

A little bit of critique on your play, you seem to disregard the central lifts entirely and instead prefer to use the stairs or the outside lift, all inevitably leading to an attack from one direction.

I myself pretty much only use the central lifts, I also tend to hover in their vicinity on level 3 too because you can pick up multiple assassinations easily, you can see outside while standing next to them and people tend to run straight past the lifts without looking into the room. This obviously gives you a huge advantage as you start shooting them from behind.

Seems to work particularly well in swat thanks to the cheap 1 shots but is equally as effective in other game types, players guarding the top of these 2 lifts have a commanding view of multiple areas and can give very quick shoutouts to the other team mates while being part of the fight at the same time. Overall the tactic here is much like the king of the hill strategy on construct, you force the enemy team to only be capable of attacking from a single direction while holding height and teamwork advantage over them with the constant callouts.

I'll sub too. The one thing I would point out which you probably already know is that most successful commentators end up straying away from talking about the gameplay and into random stuff they want to talk about, with the gameplay being more of a backdrop for a conversation. I don't think you should abandon talking the about the game, but throw in some random topic occasionally.

Also somewhat offtopic question... When you go into arena are you by yourself or with people you know? I've always found arena to be an exercise in futility when I go in alone...

All developers are more interested in making money and making games that are fun for everyone than pure competitive shooters.

Some randomness and the ability for less skilled players to occasionally win fights with stealth, tactics, or just plain luck help to keep them from just quitting the game. It really shouldn't be any big deal, though. Anybody who's really any good should be able to recover from a few random deaths and still come out on top.

Don't worry... I'm sure there will be a league that bans the armor abilities and half the weapons.
