There is officially a single beatdown button glitch similar to the BxR glitch of Halo2.
You can do this with any button layout but I find it easiest to do it with the recon layout, my button explanation is for that layout.
R (Y-R) B
Basically, you fire a shot, switch weapons and then fire a second shot (almost at exactly the same time, but not quite, the timing here is EXTREMELY specific) followed by a beatdown.
What this does is cause your second shot to be stored due to the weapon's fire delay but it still registers that you took the shot. The result of this is for the second shot you make to be fired AFTER the beatdown, as beatdowns are always aimed automatically at the head thanks to the small lunge factor, it results in a beatdown and headshot occurring at exactly the same time.
Videos:
Demonstrating it against a wall as it's easier to see this way.

(Videos are now viewable online thanks to Aphoristic rendering them)
Notes:
This can not be used unless you are the host. It visually looks like it works if you are not host but the shot does not register at all, it ghosts and only the melee actually hits.
Unlike the BxR glitch that was left in Halo 2 because anyone could do it, this will undoubtedly be patched when Bungie get wind of it as it makes the game very unfair. I do not know whether Bungie will be banning people for this yet, not enough people know about it for it to be a big problem. Do not hold me responsible if it does get you banned though. You use it at your own risk.
Seriously though, watch my videos.
