Hey all,
I made a mistake with the attachments for the Sniper Rifles - they were showing LMG attachments by accident.
From my range tests with the guns, there seemed to be damage drop off ONLY for the M60 LMG. it is a 2 hit kill until medium distance, after that its a 3 hit kill (so 50-40)
My tests were done a day before the patch. I have no idea if damages for guns were modified. Unfortunately I don't have the game as I gave it back, but if there are any changes I will make them on Monday.

I forgot to mention that the pistol attachments may have errors on them.
Python Full Auto seems like a nice attachment, but I don't think it exists.
I think the damage falloff for the M60 balances it out.

I saw a video a while back where someone pulled out the death machine, died before firing a shot, then pulled it out and used it upon respawning. Maybe if you don't use it at all, you don't lose it on death. This was beta footage, however, so I wouldn't trust it any more than the strategy guide. That is a killstreak (carepackage) reward, so it makes sense that you would get the full time limit of use regardless of if you die or not.

I can confirm that the Death Machine has been nerfed.. you die with it, you lose it.
and @ SakuyaFM, good eye. Doing this at 3am isn't a good idea. I mixed up the names. All the attachments under Python are actually the CZ75. I'll update that and post an edit accordingly.

I shoot guys through walls all the time, and it's not uncommon to finish someone off whom a teammate already got a piece of. Granted Treyarch seems to be playing with like a million special cases instead of elegant rule design, but having no damage dropoff for any LMG but the M60 seems odd.
It could be tested pretty easily with two shots from a non-M60 LMG and a swap to a non-Python pistol for the last shot at very long range. If it's at least 40 damage per bullet, it's fatal. If it's 35, you need another 10 damage.

A few weird things I noticed: - Dual Wield pistols have hit multipliers of 4x for head, 5x for neck, 1x for upper torso and 0.9 for lower torso? Huh? (no typo)
- PSG1 has a hit multiplier of 1.1x for lower chest, but without Stopping Power I imagine this is useless, correct?
- There's a value for ROTTWEIL damage, for dogs I presume?

couple of things i noticed too:
mini uzi rapid fire gets no increase in RPM and spas silenced gets no range reduction
edit:apparently every smg seems this way not just the mini uzi. and there's no upgraded sights for the python which seems to increase the range for the pistols. also i cant find the 4th shotgun...the olympia maybe?

Dual Wield pistols have duplicate stat files that are out of whack for some reason, I don't think they apply to the actual game. The Rapid Fire attachments for the two SMGs might be handled in the game script code or something.

Wow, the AUG, Famas, and the Stoner63 have some nice damage/fire rate combos. 3-4/3-3 hit kills with a 937.5 Fire rate? Yes please.
I'm guessing the M16/G11's fire rate is based on the fire rate of the bullets during a burst? I know that'll make the M16 fire at around the same speed as its cod4 counterpart, but does that mean the G11 will fire 1/3 faster? Or do they have the same time between bursts?

Ok, so statistically the M16 is one of the best weapons in the game, it outranges other guns and kills in 1 burst within max damage range. Problem is that this is not my experience with it in BO so far. Anyone else having a tonne of trouble with it? I can fire entire bursts into a person and not even get a single hitmarker. Other times I'll get 4 or 5 hitmarkers and hitsounds in a close range fight?
I'm not sure if it's lag, poor netcode or poor hitscan but something is seriously messing up what should statistically be one of the best weapons in the game.
Anyone else experiencing this? I barely get a 1:1 kd with the m16 whereas with automatics I'm going 3:1, it's not my accuracy at all, I'm clearly getting 3 bursts aimed at center mass at close-mid range and getting no hits at all at times. It's led to me ditching what has previously been one of my favourite cod guns.
EDIT: Also, I noticed the MP40 in that spreadsheet, 59 max damage?! That's a 2shot smg. Seems to have a high fire time, what does the fire time column represent?

"FireTime" is the split second between each shot. "FireRate" is the potential amount of rounds the weapon can fire in a minute without reloading.

I had guessed it might be that, I just wanted to be certain. Thankfully this is zombies only, it's not in the multiplayer list So far it seems that my dislike for the m16 is mirrored by the lack of other people using it online too. Everyone seems to be whoring the MP5 right now. Anyone here played with it much and had the problems I mentioned?

My face when 750 or 937.5 RPM > Seriously, were Treyarch even trying? The Kiparis, Uzi, Spectre, PM63, MPL and MAC11 all having the same rate of damage? I suppose the recoil numbers will be different, but then again, maybe not. If I had to take a punt, I'd say the most used weapons will be the Galil, AK-74u, L96A1 and Python. Maybe the Enfield if it has the accuracy of a laser, but I don't have the game yet so I wouldn't know. EDIT: Just saw Den's chart, Enfield has same recoil numbers as famas, lower centrespeed, so it probably won't balance out enough with the lower ROF to be a superlaser, and it probably won't even be good. Looking at the numbers: -AK47, AUG and Commando look fucking beast. Galil's sideways recoil = hah. FAMAS has done the Desert Eagle makeover and is now teh suxxorz. M16 is shit, G11 meh. Semiautos are interesting, though I'm really leaning to the M14. -HK21 seems like a pretty cool guy, Stoner is the M249, RPK is the RPD with higher ROF = higher recoil. M60 worse than CoD 4 M60. -74u is no doubt going to be the most popular SMG, Skorpion, MP5K and MPL look pretty good too (similar recoils to Skorp, MP5 and P90 from CoD 4 respectively). Big lols to the Kiparis, PM63, MAC11 and Spectre, I think they're going to be lumped into the forgettable pile with their sideways recoil, low centrespeed and high ROF. Uzi is same as CoD 4. 'Nuff said about that. -Dragunov = jack of all trades, Wazoo = spam shots, but small mag, L96A1 = montage, high risk high reward, PSG = Barrett/PTRS, seems pretty useless. -Doesn't seem to be much point to the HS-10 outside of dual wielding and looking cool, just use the SPAS lol. The Stakeout is a bit better than the W1200, but then again, you don't have The Juggs, so yeah. The Olympia, numbers-wise, seems to be the most like the M1014, my favorite from MW2, so I'll probably use that one a lot, though Sleight of Hand is an obvious must-have. So summary, the MP5K is definitely the best starting weapon. Best guns overall are the AK-47/Commando, 74u, MP5K, AUG, Skorpion from the looks of it. Classified weapons are pretty meh, Stoner and G11 are probably the only ones which have some quality worth using. Oh, and Akimbo HS-10s
