Finally getting around to fixing that rock glitch on Fuel, as well as security updates in light of the recent PS3 hacking thingy. Unfortunately, they're not doing anything else. Sad face. In the meantime, have some Bowling quotes. ''There will never be a complete removal of a complete feature, perk, or weapon in a game post-launch. Far too risky code change.'' ''Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is my personal favorite in the series.'' ''I think Quick scoping is an acquired talent that requires mastering. I've never had a personal problem with it in-game.'' ''No OMA tweaking is being done. It will remain the Juggernaut / Martyrdom of Call of Duty 4's equivalent in Modern Warfare 2.'' Moar liek Frag x3 hmm? www.gamesradar.com/xbox360/modern-warfare-2/news/call-of-duty-creative-strategist-unveils-new-childrens-book/a-2011012418217379012/g-20090326142018906090

Wow...If said (nonexistant) patch actually fixes everything. Back to MW2 with me... Bowling Ball already stated that it won't fix any balance issues, although he'd very much like to. Apparently he plays Black Ops, but only Barebones TDM, and hates it when people use Last Stand/2nd Chance in other game modes. ''No future updates are planned for MW2. Commando and OMA are two things that could use some tweaking but will remain as is.''

So why do we all hate him?
I mean, yes, I cant see why they dont take a few hours to fix commando and OMA.... but he likes CoD4!!!
Does he have any part in MW3? I sure hope so.

This is why I hate him, and because he said he felt the community would rather have brand new, 15$, maps, then have a few minior (commando, OMA) balance fixes.

I don't think there's any fair way they could have tweaked OMA, but it's pretty ridiculous that they aren't doing anything about Commando.

Well, I was referring to the perk itself. I honestly don't see too much problem with launchers as they are (with DC is another matter) and I couldn't really care less if they used stuff like scavenger or marathon. I just don't think that there is any way that they could have changed OMA itself to be completely unexploitable for noob tubers without penalizing its actual use or the use of grenade launchers without OMA. But replacing the 1st perk would definitely cut down on a whole lot of frustration.

I hope OMA comes back in MW3. Great perk if used... fairly.

The only change they needed to make was OMA not refilling grenade launchers.
That would be enough to make the game playable. Even Commando wasn't that horribly overpowered.

I don't understand while people liked OMA. If you want to play a class then play a class. If it's not good in a certain situation, you'll either have enough time to get out of that situation or you want have enough time to switch. I mean you can do all sorts of cute tricks with it like Claymore + C4 or a bunch of Shield stuff, but I won't be sad to see it go.

Being able to switch to a long range weapon when you previously had a close range weapon was a great tool.
Also, switch to cold blooded when air support is up.. etc.
Had a lot of uses.

Commando wasn't overpowered, and it's removal in Blops seems to have had the awesome side effect of flooding games with second chance... On the other hand, it was really, really annoying to be knifed up a flight of stairs. Made me want to punch people in the face. Which gave me the idea of making a perk ability that anytime someone knifes you, you grab their wrist, pushing the knife away from you, then throw a punch to their face. It could say KO or something (you know where it says First Blood and all that. What are those called?). I'd like that

I've heard suggestions of adding an Assassin's Creed-style counter button, which you could counter a knife attack if timed correctly. However, considering the lag issues, it probably wouldn't work.

Make Skill Cannons require ADS and you're fine. Thumper/China Lake style? Eh... I dont think thats much of a penalty to using NOTHING but tubes, but hurts "proper" use of tubes.

No... It hurts people who just walk around with their toob equipped- making them have to ADS which right now is IMO their biggest advantage (no ADS needed, super accurate hipfire). "Proper" tube use, I would imagine would be simply using tubes to flush out campers. The guy is staying still; you know where he is. You can afford another half second to ADS at that window.
No one complains about Thumper/ China Lake abuse.

They don't even get awkward sights. They have a brick mounted to the top of their gun which they press their face against.

I don't understand why people glorify quick-scoping with Stopping Power, and then cry about One Man Army and Danger Close.
A weapon like an Intervention, which has fifteen spare rounds alongside its five round magazine [all of which are high-probability one-shot kills if you're even half-decent at quick-scoping], gets more favours in-game from aim assist and the drag-scoping rubbish [which on my killcams I've seen it miss me by half a head, a full head and still count as a kill], but One Man Army gets two rifle grenades and doesn't even get a secondary for an AT4-HS or RPGs.
One Man Army is no worse than Scavenger - I use Scavenger with Danger Close on one of my preset classes, and combined with claymores, you get one rifle grenade refill, one launcher refill and a fresh claymore every time you pick up a blue bag. You don't even have to be the person to score the kill to get the blue bag either. You could just follow behind a group of three or four teammates, and take the spoils of war for Danger Close ragdoll laughs. Now THAT's a little excessive if you want to get technical.
On games like Highrise, Quarry, Karachi or other maps where there's a good mix of long range and close-quarters fighting, you can sometimes pick up five and six blue bags where there's been contact, and set up basically a fortress of claymores inside a building or around corners, and have a full ammo dump of rifle grenades and launchers to boot.
Honestly, I kind of liked the COD4 approach where you could run over the top of an M4A1 with your M16A4 and take their ammo, but you couldn't get sniper rifle ammo from a machine gunner. In MW2, you're taking claymores from a guy who isn't carrying any - which is inherently stupid. If they're carrying a launcher, then you should be able to take compatible ammunition from that enemy's corpse; otherwise, it's like having a Medic that can de-fib a guy who's had fifteen holes shot in his chest.

It couldnt possibly be that sniping requires accuracy, and tubes dont? It couldnt possibly be that anyone cant tube, but QSing is difficult?

Goddamnit "realism" is probably the stupidest and most annoying video game argument out there. I don't know why it's so popular.

gosh darn golly gee whizit "realism" is probably the stupidest and most annoying video game argument out there. I don't know why it's so popular. Balance must come before realism, but realism must be preserved to keep a so called Modern Shooter from seeming like a cartoon.
