I seriously posted that mid sentence. Somehow. Then I noticed I was running late. Sorry, but it's the truth. Anyway I really miss COD4. I liked it a lot more, even if just for/in it's time. The maps were smaller but every part had.. meaning. Some of the maps in MW2 almost look randomly generated. The guns had recoil and personality. I could go on but I'd hate to kill the thread before it gets anywhere. Input?

Frag grenades, spawn tubing, the M16, and Stopping Power were my only issues with CoD4. If they had just fixed those and added suppressed sniper rifles I would never play any other CoD game.

Maybe I dont know the ballistics on frags in COD4 but the only problem that I had with em was that they came down in bunches, especially teams of 4-5 that all ran frag x3 at the same time. Combine that with being able to throw frags into uncovered spawns from the middle of most maps means you have a problem. Once again I dont know the numbers on how far frags can go but it doesnt seem too much further than any of the other games in the series. Then again we have bigger maps in MW2.
I had no problem with a single well placed frag but when you have 8 or 9 in the air at one time then that shits ridiculous

Frag spam, frags in spawns, cooked frags etc. Cooked frags in CoD 4 are more powerful than noobtubes in my opinion.

Skill Cannons are over rated. They are only good in MW2 and WaW (the rifle grenades didn't have a fuse, so you could use them close range). Most of the time when I'm killed by them in CoD 4, I would have just as easily been killed by gunfire. Frags themselves werent the problem. Frag x3 + small maps with no cover were the problem No, Frag x3 isn't the problem, and neither is the distance that you can throw them. Their kill radius is the problem, and if CoD 4 had WaW's grenades frag x3 wouldn't be that big of a deal. I get easymode grenade mortar kills all the time, and I don't normally use frag x3. Yeah, a whole team using frag x3 would be ridiculous, but so would a whle team using UAV Jammer and Dead Silence with a silenced weapon, or a whole team with RPD Grip + Stopping Power.

Maybe my experience has been different then because I dont complain about cooked nades. When I watch a kill cam of a guy that cooks a nade and throws it right next to me then I just have to eat that. The guy beat me in that situation. Usually when people cook nades its because they know the general area of where a person is, not because they got lucky and threw it randomly.
Outside of that if I have time to avoid a grenade then I usually do so no problem. I really dont have too much angst towards kill radius of nades in COD4. I havent complained WTF THAT THING WAS NOWHERE NEAR ME hardly ever in that game aside from some martyrdom kills but martyrdom is only useful in extreme CQC anyway so the perk is just fulfilling its role (I realize thats kind of a bad justification but oh well...)
Watching a killcam of a guy with Frag x3 looking straight up in the sky chucking nades randomly the second he spawns is what grinds my gears. That is what lowers the skill cap. Anybody can sit at a random point on Wetwork or Bog and chuck 3 nades regardless of how much theyre cooked and get a kill. That aint hard at all.
Good teamwork beats Jammer + Dead Silence + Silencer. And theres many ways to counter a whole team of slow moving slow ADSing powerful RPDs. As far as I know theres nothing to counter 12 balls of instant death coming towards you that cover a very large portion of the map all at once.

frags were perfect in COD 4 u could actually kill campers, and guess what u couldnt get more frags after u used the 1 u had. The only issue with frags was Frag x3. The Frag Grenade itself was perfect in COD4. In MW2, WAW, and BLack Ops u can sit in the corner of a room and live through a frag in the same room. WTF the addition of Flack Jacket was a good move and enough to help with the frag spam they didnt need to gimp the frag like they did.

I went and played Halo 3's small maps today. I guess CoD 4 ain't so bad when it comes to grenades.
I'd hate to have Halo CE on xbox live though. I think plasmas in CE almost had the same kill radius as frags in CoD 4. And you get 4 plasmas and 4 frags. Dunno about PC, but I imagine they'd just remove all the grenade pickups from the map or something. Although there's also a modifier in the custom games options for regenerating grenades (oh yeah).
32 player Domination on Shipment with regenerating grenades would be pretty funny. But not fun at all.
