I decided to make a thread for this since nobody's likely to check the old thread in here.

PS. If we attempt it and fail tonight I'll be trying again all weekend. I want this one. But I don't think it will be too terribly difficult. I did read most of the Mythic Guide on it when I was trying to do L. D. Spear. (I quit the Mythic Guide about halfway because the challenge expired during my game, but I did finish playing it.) We should be able to skip or cheese most of it.

Failed! I was playing it in co-op with a friend and we got all the way up to the point where you ride in the helicopter and fire the grenade launchers... Unfortunately the hunters and elites had pushed the damn thing into the trees and gotten it stuck. Sure as hell as soon as we got in it CHECKPOINT! It was late so we gave up and will try again tomorrow. heh heh

Very nice run. He could have coaxed the wraiths off the cliffs rather than dealing with them, though I dunno if it would have been faster. Glad to see the way he took the base where you have to leave the first warthog. I hadn't realized you could skip the bridge there. I knew about skipping the upper levels, but I did not know you could take the path he did, which is lower down than the one I knew about. I like it!

All around pretty expert run. I wonder how long mine will take. heh

This one wasn't too hard. But if you've read The Tyrant's article, Long Night of Misery and Pain is next up in 2 weeks.

I was doing Long Night on Legendary with a few skulls on just to get it done for my Legendary run. I was running out of time to start my L.D. Spear run so I "cheated" and used the Mythic guide. Definitely makes it much easier. I have to say FUN mission on that difficulty. I look forward to the LASO. (I did finish Long Night, but sadly still took too long and failed to finish Tip of the Spear in time for the challenge. Damn daily challenges...

Screwed up the Elite at the end. I don't really care about finishing this one, I have too much stuff to do.

I'm about to start mine. Meant to do it last night, but couldn't. Watched Toy Story 3 instead. heh

He can be a pain. You can drop his shields with several shots from a plasma pistol. The Mythic Guide suggests jetpacking off the ledge and letting him fall which looks doable too. Last night I did a Normal run just working on some daily challenges and I thought I'd get a preview. heh I actually carried one of those plasma turrets up the grav lift with me and raped 'em all with it. hehee

I got to the passage and I got all of the grunts but the Elite disappeared around the corner, and when I triggered him to follow me I was too far through the corridor and couldn't back up quickly enough (had jetpack so no sprint). I managed to jump backwards off the spire before I got Commandoed mid air. I probably should have just gone around to the other side but I was a bit too overconfident.

The guide is a bit vague too, it doesn't really tell you all of the triggers. For example, to get the pelican to land in the first part of the level, you have to kill the GREEN grunts on the turret. Oh well, the fun comes with figuring it out.

You also have to hit the checkpoint in front of the destroyed warthog where the health is. I kept sticking to the cliff and going around and the Pelican would come but would NOT drop the warthog off until I backed up and hit that checkpoint.

I'm also unsure about the trick to force the wraiths to go away. I did it before, but tonight I've been unable to get them to both go. Sometime I get one, but usually neither.

Unfortunately I just failed. I kept making stupid mistakes and dying. Finally I didn't have much time left so I decided to stop screwing around with being careful and just go for fast. Low and behold I sprinted through the campaign almost as fast as that speed run all that up until the crash. Then I did soso. Kept getting nailed by snipers. I guess I should have just gone ahead, but my shield was low. Though I only screwed that up going back. I should have done that part either fast or cautious, but not halfway. heh

What sucks is I didn't even get my chance to get pwned by mr swrord dude. I drove the vehicle to the pillar like in the speed run and hopped out at the door, but there was a grunt there. I was like FUCK, but then he didn't blast the vehicle or kill me before I got out so I though hey FREE SHIELDS! That fucker took three fists right to the face and still killed me! O,o

Oh well... Honestly I was a bit blah at that point because I knew it was already too late for the challenge... I missed my window... again. I HAVE to stop doing these on Sundays! Unfortunately it's hard to get around to it. I tried on Friday and had the damn glitch stuck helicopter fuck that up for us. I would have done it Saturday, but RL chit got in the way.

uhg... Yanno... I think this week I may run back through in true Mythic difficulty fashion just to prove I can fecking do it. It annoys me that I didn't finish, but I wasn't starting it over again tonight. If I do, though I'm speed running the fecking thing. If it only takes me a little while to get through and I die then I don't mind starting over nearly as much, but if I work my ass off being careful it doesn't encourage me at all. heh

Then again I'm tempted to take a break from Halo for a while and play something else. heh
