I'm feeling oddly unmotivated to do this one. I guess mainly due to failing the last few because I started them too late... I really wish the challenges would change over like on say Tuesday morning instead so that if I didn't hit it until Sunday I wouldn't have to worry about the deadline...

I want to, and yet I don't want to, plus I have a lot of work to do as usual. I'll give it a go tomorrow, but if it's too much of a hassle I'll just go back to Modern Warfare 2.

In that case I highly recommend reading the Mythic Guide. Long Night is a mother bitch unless you follow that advice, because you have to do a lot of the fighting alone, inside the covenant ship, vs lots of elites. But I actually found it rather fun on Legendary. ;p I was trying to finish my legendary run fast enough to work on LD Spear so I read the guide and used it to finish off the end of the campaign.
There are some places that if you don't use his advice it just seemed damn near impossible.
Also, he shows you how to use the Pelican's main gun at the end! >,> I guess it's maybe something of a glitch, or maybe it's an easter egg. Either way it's kinda awesome. hehe!
The Space Part BTW is just gravy. Legendary makes it harder, but not by much. (You die quicker so you gotta play defensively if you start getting shot. Luckily even your hull regenerates.) The skulls don't really affect space, though.
The beginning of the campaign isn't all that hard. You just have to get to the base. But keep in mind that you need to pickup whatever weapons you're going to want for the beginning of the assault on the corvette. This is one case where you go through cinematic sequences and stuff but actually retain your weapons. He suggests rocket launcher... I'm maybe leaning more towards plasma pistol/DMR as that's my usual Elite killing kit... but maybe he's right about that.

I've read it a long time ago, it was one of the few that I paid attention to in detail, but I still don't really care all that much. The bit that really worries me is the Bridge, because even on vanilla legendary it manages to get me a few times sometimes.

Yeah the Bridge can be rough. On my legendary run I used the guide though and honestly it was cake. In fact I bopped all the elites except the on the back of the head to one hit kill them all stealthy like. (Assassinations make too much noise, so just the melee from behind.) I'd have gotten him too, but some grunts noticed me so I hightailed my ass out of there and took them out at range. Then I just did like he does in the guide and use the NR to make the general dodge so I could get close and assassinate him. It's actually pretty funny that you can abuse single Elites like that with tough luck on. ;p
I should go for it, but I'm still not really motivated... even though I know what to do. I know that I'll die at least once in the process and I don't really feel like playing through the whole campaign again. Wish the game didn't lag so horribly in co-op. I'd probably be able to get my bro to do it with me so we can use checkpoints otherwise.
I'm almost tempted to split screen it, but I wouldn't be able to park the 2nd player somewhere safe like I have for WC and some other campaigns. They would at least get killed in space combat, but also probably after the bridge since you have to backtrack. Or at the end. Only one player can use the pelican for neigh invulnerability. There prolly is another corner to hide the other player in for that, but I don't think I could get them to it and me to the pelican at the same time and if I try to do one at a time surely one of the players will die. Then again... at least it would only be a checkpoint reset.
Think I'd just rather try it singleplayer and avoid the hassle... hmm... but then again... If they could survive space, somehow...

As predicted I couldn't arse myself up to make a go at it. It was Sunday night before I even really had the time and I was damned sure not making another Sunday night attempt even if I am familiar with the campaign on Legendary and the Mythic Guide's tips. Feck that...
I think I will manage this week's challenge, though. 80k points shouldn't really be that difficult. In fact it's just another excuse for doing the space stuff, which I'm ALL about. Honestly I wish they would just up and do a spinoff based on the space combat. Brought back memories of Wing Commander, Colony Wars, Tie-Fighter, and the space expansion for Star Wars Galaxies... mmm... good times. Granted they would need to expand on it some, but I would SO be all over that. I'd be more excited about a space combat Halo than I would be in a new FPS Halo. (The series has come full circle with Reach and it's pretty much the definitive Halo for the current generation as far as I'm concerned. Any new Halo FPS sorely needs to innovate or it's just not going to be relevant.)
But then, considering the blahness surrounding Halo Wars I doubt they'll try another attempt at doing a Halo spinoff. Oh well..

The blahness surrounding Halo Wars was due to the fact that people will probably never figure out how to make an RTS for a gamepad.
