Getting ready to make an attempt on this one for jollies. I'm not supremely motivated. Seem to have lost some of my enthusiasm for the LASO things from all the BS failures and missed deadlines.
But I figure I'll give it a go. Plus there's some daily challenges I'll surely get along the way and I think this should be a fun one. Totally ready for a break from Elites.
I think I'm gonna try it first on my own, but I'll probably whimper and read the Mythic guide within the first 30 minutes or the second time those damn flying bugs kill me or something. I hate those guys despite the enjoyment I get from making them explode with my DMR. hehee! Have a feeling I'm really gonna be relying more in the NR for this vs Brutes and the two Hunters.
Should be fun in a masochistic sort of way since I haven't really been playing enough halo lately to be in top form. heh
I REALLY wish co-op didn't lag like a mother F'er online. Makes it nearly impossible to play and my brother prolly won't ever give it a try again with me.

BTW I was thinking of a different campaign when I mentioned the Hunters... I don't actually recall any on this one... though it's been a while.

Aww crap... It's always something...
Mythic Guide as always was great, though for the beginning it mainly just helped me refresh my memory as to exactly what enemies I'd face and where. After going through it and a few bonehead restarts I was off to the races and doing great. In fact I was doing considerably better than he does in the videos in the guide. ;p
I was very conservative with ammo and by the point that he takes the grav hammer and DMR to the elevator I hadn't even used my DMR. heh Then again, you might as well use it there's craploads of ammo after the elevator.
I actually had very few needle guns so I had to make due without. But with my handy dandy dry erase mark I was able to use the assault rifle to pop the helmets off the grunts using the scope to snipe at them in 2 shot bursts. It's a little slow, but the range is just fine and it saves on pistol/dmr ammo. I finished them with single pistol shots. That whole thing leading up to the elevator went just like clockwork. In fact it was downright easy for once.
Then I grabbed the jetpack and started off again. Wheeee! (I love the jetpack.) I suppose it's a good idea to practice the route he shows you to skip stuff, but frankly I'm fairly confident in my jetpacking skills, at least as far as single player goes. I've already been jumping into it like he suggests and such. Flew on up to the spot where he grav hammered the grunt. I smacked one myself... and then... well... I took a wrong fecking turn. T_T
I wound up in a room with no other entrance. I grenaded a grunt, determine to hammer my way back out, but one of those damn dirty apes came at me and yanno... those guys are so big that, well, I misjudged my distance to him and whiffed a hammer! O,O
Dammot... This really doesn't seem like all that difficult a campaign, but I keep making silly little mistakes. For example in the tunnel rooms with all the suicide grunts I fell off the platforms strafing to shoot through the doors at the last batch of 'em... not once, but THREE friggin times! Well, okay the first time I was away from the game for about 5 minutes and when I came back I honestly didn't know where exactly I was. I was disoriented and thought I was at the last doorway. heh
Anyway... This is sooooo doable, but I'm tired of Halo for the night. Maybe... maybe I'll try again later, but I HATE trying to do these on Sunday because of the damn time limit so feck if I know... Mebbe I'll just hit MW2 or RDR instead.
Kinda sucks that there's only a week to do these. Yes I know, it's a whole week. But the reality is that I only have a couple of days in a week that I can actually attempt it, and usually not until the weekend.
It's that damn iron skull that really gets me. I don't mind having to figure it out and get it right, but having to start over from scratch every single time is just soooo time consuming.
Hope you had better luck. I seem to have had none since WC. ;-/

You are aware that they don't require you to use Blind in LASO challenges, right?

Yes and I haven't been. But I was using the dry erase mark anyway because you don't have a reticule when you zoom in with weapons that don't have a "scope". Though there's no apparent scope on the pistol it still supposedly has one. ;p
Allows me to zoom in to aim even the AR and plasma pistol, which are pretty accurate for the first couple shots before bloom. (The plasma pistol has no reticule bloom, but it does have cone of fire bloom... it's just not visually represented.)

Hope you had better luck. Nope. Even though it was break I still had a lot of work that was due in today. Probably should have done it on Thursday.

I didn't even try again Sunday. Sad really. Seems like Exodus is probably one of the easier ones. Oh well. I need to run through it on Legendary so I'll do that and thus practice the looooong jetpack jump and get a better grip on the route by the time it rolls back around... however long that takes. Though at the rate this is going that could be a year. ;-/
