I've never really liked the Kick Proficiency for most guns, and I really only used Focus and Attachments(For challenges), but the Range proficiency for SMG's, interested me. Since I'm always running my SMG's with silencers, it seems like everything that isn't knifing range is a 5 shot kill. Would the range proficiency make the range basically the same as the standard SMG or maybe even better?
You are my bro, bro.

Ever so slightly worse than the base SMG, as it goes range*.75*1.25 which yields .9375 So it's about 6% less range than the base SMG still
You're better off going without silencers on SMGs, or with RF + Silencer.

Does the game necessarily prioritize the attachment before the proficiency? Also, I feel like I need to stay off the radar especially with the SMG's as i'm flanking most of the time. But I can also see the really severe damage dropoff of the SMG's make the silencer pretty painful to use.

I think mp7 em+rf or sil+rf beats all profs...

Does the game necessarily prioritize the attachment before the proficiency? Doesn't matter: commutative property. 1*1.25*0.75=1*0.75*1.25. Of course, that's assuming that those attachments function that way (i.e. are just straight multipliers).

Oh, woops. Math fail.
Is it just me that doesn't really enjoy the MP7's iron sights?

Oh, woops. Math fail. Is it just me that doesn't really enjoy the MP7's iron sights? They're a little funky, but compared to most guns they're very, very clean and will have little effect on missing opponents. With a little practice they're amazing and some of the best when acclimated IMO.

They're alright, but I prefer to stick an RDS on them. Then again, I prefer to stick an RDS on almost everything. I don't find most enchantments/attachments all that useful, and I like having a completely clear picture around my target, so I just stick RDS + Suppressor/Exmags on almost everything.

Hahahaha, I'm definitely calling proficiencies enchantments from here on out. It's not Damage: it's a +1 Striker.

A +1 Striker with an extended quiver.
I actually prefer the MP7 with Supp+RDS. Frickin Laser. It's my "Silent MP7 of unobfuscated sight".

I've always found it very difficult to justify optics when there are attachments/proficiencies with more tangible benefits, especially when you consider that the MP7 has pretty good sights to start with.

Eh. It's that extra bit of precision making me stay on target at all ranges. At times (like, when you're the last man standing in s&d) it allows me to make full use of adrenaline pumped reflexes. Not having the weapon taking up the lower half of the screen also helps against cornerjumpingdropshottingakimbofunks.

HAMR on the MP7 is actually pretty fun. You can add Range, Rapid Fire, Emags, Supressor---any of those things gives you steady long-range power instead of just that long-range sprayability.

Too bad that the HAMR defaults to it's long range sight when switching to it without pressing the attachment button.
Switching back from MP9 while conering, pulls out MP7: "Lol lemme just switch this back to ACOG" FFFFFFFFF-

That's very curious that switching weapons resets the HAMR scope. Is this true of the hybrid as well?
Also, why would you switch to the MP9 over the MP7 in CQC? The MP7 kills faster and both guns have the same hip fire spread, no? That said, the MP7 is probably the best candidate for the HAMR out of all the SMGs.

Because i'm quickly burning through ammo with SOH when on a spree and those two guys up ahead won't wait for me to search the ground for another weapon. Happens quite often actually.
When your secondary (or whatever you're carrying) is out and you press the weapon switch button/key, it's not instantly switching back to the ACOG part, that would be too convenient. No, the character raises the gun and readjusts the scope afterwards, all of this is uninterruptable.

Maybe its fine on the MP7, but I can't stand the HAMR scope. I tried it to get all the challenges on the P90 and the PP90, but i gave up on both. After 8 games of getting 5 kills and 20 deaths I wanted to break my controller.

Hybrid Sight + HAMR would easily be the coolest attachments in the game if they didn't automatically make you do the animation for resetting it to 3x/4x scope every time you switched back to them. I hope that this is a bug that will be fixed.

I've actually switched to Range MP7 + Suppressor, from Kick MP7 + Suppressor. I've done WAY better with Range, finally I can compete at the end of Striker range with most ARs now. I first noticed something was up when I was within shotgun range and I got 4 hit-markers ... essentially, MP7 + Silencer by default is like the CoD4 Skorpion, without the 2HK up close.

I don't think Kick on an MP7 would ever be useful.... At this point I would always either use attachments or range on pretty much every SMG.

Kick on PP90M RF is reasonably good. But, why use a PP90M RF + Kick when a MP7 RF + Range is more or less equal in power, with less recoil?

I don't really need kick on the PP90 RF, so RF and Range or RF and Emags would probably be the best for me. MP7 RF Silenced sounds like perfection to me. I can't even imagine anything better.

Without Range, the suppressed MP7 becomes a 4-5 hit kill so incredibly quickly it can be infuriating. I'm talking the other end of a bedroom. In my experience (MP7 is by far my most used weapon), Range is more than a viable choice for the suppressed MP7.

i've had a lot of success yesterday with:
mp7+silencer w/kick
practically 0 recoil/kick. I've tried the rf+silencer combo but it felt really off especially since i was used to the pin-point accuracy with it. Sure the mp7's recoil is manageable but with kick you will land 99% of your shots!

I've taken Range off of the MP7 + silencer. Range increases the 3HK zone of silenced SMGs by literally a standing person's width, it barely does anything at all. In fact, I'd venture to say that only SMGs without silencers should even think about Range, it's that bad.
SMG drop-off is pathetic in this game. They're all pea shooters at mid-range.
