I don't know if any bros are interested in fighting games at all, but SC5 just came out, and Namco has done what IW could not. I am of course referring to netcode; SC5 netcode is awesome. You search for 4+ bars, and that's what you get, amazing. You can actually play a fighting game online, well enough to frame trap and zone to boot. You can actually, you know, block even (unlike SC4). In over twenty consecutive matches I played today, I had a grand total of one end by DC (and I'm pretty sure he ragequit like a girl anyway). Other features of the online mode-
When you first get on, you are shown a globe, upon which you place a marker identifying your location. This is used in conjunction with regional (and other customization settings; language, etc) to find games.
When a ranked match is found for you, it shows your opponent's region information and connection, and gives you the option of accepting or declining that opponent. If you want to play five bars only, you can. If you hate playing people from a certain country, don't play them. It's awesome.
The player matches (unranked) allow the others in the lobby to spectate your matches and voice chat, as well as text chat in the lobby. The host of the lobby has the option of kicking what whats, as well.
The only real complaints anyone could have about this game are the extremely shallow story mode (why are you playing a fighting game for story again?) and the fact that a sizable chunk of the original/recurring roster, including some fan favorites (Taki, Xianghua, and Sophitia in particular) are missing. If you're new to the series you won't miss them, but their replacements just aren't the same, to me. No glaring balance issues yet (though the metagame is young), and the deepest create-a-character I've ever seen in a fighter. Online I've played against everything from generic underwear people to clowns to Wesker to Shadowmere.
There are also now titles to unlock Call of Duty style, as well as a quasi Combat Record called a "license" that lets you look at things like win ratios (online and off, for different modes) usage stats, as well as the ability to save matches for later viewing Theater style.
I've already edited this post three times, I'll probably go to bed now. If you've ever wanted to play a fighter online, now's the time. It's seriously good.
